Found a vehicle in the nick of time! Because of a financial situation beyond my control I was soon to lose my present vehicle. I work out of town so not having a car was not an option. Not only was I able to obtain a vehicle almostly exactly like the one I was losing (only a year older) and the same color to boot, I was able to drive the car for a couple of days while waiting fo get the money together for the down payment. Out of the blue, I got a call from Joel Hammen at Sheboyan Chrysler to check on how I was doing with the van I purchased from them several years ago. So, Joel searched for my list of specifications and found exactly what I wanted already on the lot and in my price range! He also asked Randy Swihart for assistance to make sure this was the best selection for us. After taking it for a test drive, it was a done deal. So easy to work with and so pleasant to have conversation with. When we came to pick it up, the process was smooth thanks to the knowledge of Tim Hill and there were many other associates who pitched in to help us get in and out the door in a reasonable amount of time. I met the maintenance team, including the crew chief and several mechanics. I met the business manager, and I met the manager of the site. This small, but important, gesture on Zack's part drove home the message that I would not be forgotten after making my purchase. Everyone I met stressed that our relationship is just beginning. They want to be the place I take my car in for service, and they will work to earn my trust. Purchasing a car is a big decision, and they all made it clear that they understood that. I never felt rushed or pressured. They made what is usually a stressful experience into a personable, humane one. I was treated like a human being, not just a number, or a woman with a checkbook. The store's sales reps do not work straight off commission, and I think that makes a difference in the quality of the sales transaction for the customer. Zack took the time to show me all the car's safety features, how to program the audio, how to connect the car's sound system with my cell phone, and several other things. It was a thorough tutorial. I drove away feeling confident that I would be able to do the rest myself. It was important to me that the company invests heavily in the community. They donate staff time, equipment and money to local charities and important community projects, like the annual Making Spirits Bright light show at Evergreen Park. The manager told me about the owner's, current project: raising several million dollars to develop a high-tech training program in Sheboygan's two public high schools. I like the fact that the company is locally owned and has been active in the community for 24 years. Besides that, Zack was just a lot of fun to work with. His enthusiasm for his job, and for the cars, comes through strongly. When I told him the things that were important to me in a car, he found one that seemed hand-picked just for me. I was impressed. His good humor and genuine friendliness made me feel good about this important purchase. I hope he meant it when he said I could call him anytime with my questions, because I probably will. He's a definite asset to this company. More
