Buyer BEWARE! DO NOT BUY HERE! THEY ARE SUPER SHADY! Even one star is too good for this place. I find it funny they skate around concerns w/ the same response " The DO NOT BUY HERE! THEY ARE SUPER SHADY! Even one star is too good for this place. I find it funny they skate around concerns w/ the same response " There is not enough information in your review..." More alarming, I'm reading the same stuff over&over for 4 years & some of the same people are still working there after blatantly costing them many sales, ultimately hurting them financially and in credibility. It leads one to believe that the owners condone this type of dishonesty as it seems to be acceptable procedure to lie and cheat the consumer. So let me get down to my visit... I originally emailed requesting an E-price on a used car. I asked a few questions & asked for a copy of the carfax report since the details appear vague & sketchy. It had a link for a free one but upon clicking it has 21 records & you have to pay to view them (other cars show the full report free). John Shakta emailed me saying he was an internet sales manager. I thought he was nice and helpful originally but realize he was inconsistent with information too. He said the car was certified even though it didn't state it nor is it in the certified inventory & to click the link from the listing to view the carfax. So the run-a-round begins...I work down the street so I stop in to see if they had the vehicle & take it for a drive. Typical dealership, you get swooped on by the 1st vulture who sees you. Intending to give him my business. I asked for John because I knew I was going to buy a Challenger I just needed the right price. I got intercepted by Mike & Octavio the ASM. Mike denied knowing John and they went on to say "Why would you want to buy used when we can get you a new one for less?" I let them show me a new 2014 Challenger RT, the misleading sticker boasting $6,668 off. It can be confusing if you don't see what they are trying to do. The used car was 23k so I think they must be taking the discounts & rebates off the base MSRP making it about 23? I test drive it & love it. The sit down: They ask me the numbers I want & do the "If we can get you this you will take the car today?" Absolutely. Let the scandalousness begin... So they have me fill out the credit app. & I tell them I only want my credit run ONE TIME! They promise me only once but my credit report shows at least 4 so far. Simply I wanted a $400 payment or less. We agree no more than $420. I have excellent credit (tier 1-A). I had just checked my scores that morning and told him my Experian was over 720 & Equifax 735. Octavio comes back to me showing me my score is 666, my supposed "Experian auto 3 score". When I ask how that is possible he tells me it is my like my Vantage score for Auto & the others are my "consumer credit scores." He does the math & starts to say "usually the lender likes to see 1/3 down"... I say "No, if I go to my bank they will give me a loan putting 0 down." He tells me it is to bring my payment down & I have to finance with Chrysler Capital or I won't get all the discounts/rebates since they one giving most of it.. I said I'm only putting down $1,200. He hears $1.500 and gives me a price over 28k. Nope. They knock it down another 1k. Then he proceeds to give me their best offer which was insulting $8.9% APR, 75mo term $526 a month. I walked out because I had to get to work but told them I will just go to Chase because my last loan from them was 6.9% and my score was 668 at the time I think on a used car! They offered to contact Chase for me and I said no. I called Chrysler the next morning to check the status of my loan app and after explaining it, things were just as I thought. The rate was 4.9% but the dealership was tacking on another 4% that they intended t pocket. She told me it's not uncommon but I should have asked to see the buyrate, which they hadn't shown me. She also told me I should have asked to see the incentives they claimed CC was supposedly offering because that was a crock as well. She suggested I go to my bank like I originally wanted to avoid being ripped off. I go see my banker @Chase and low and behold, gets me approved at 2.85%. John S. emailed me to ask if I was still coming in, I let him know what happened & he apologized for "how i felt" & he'd like to make it up to me. How I felt? uh-no they obviously thought I was a dumb female & tried to pull one over on me. Short of it: I went to 2 more Dodge's who both got the same auto scores for me of 714 and 713 and both offered 1.9%. My payments will be $413 but I opted for an extended warranty. They since called me back claiming they "missed some add'l rebates, trying to offer $30k OTD financing $28.5k @5.24% w/ payments of $446 on 75 month term from Chase! LOL Still trying to cheat me. That's twice. No thanks I am giving my business to Simi CJDR. Easy with no gimmicks. I got what I wanted. Now I will post this on every consumer site possible to make it my personal mission to make sure the public is well aware of the game here. More
Not bad at first... BUT. Miscommunication between multiple reps, 4+ hours of wasted time, xx run around, promised a call back to work on offer by multiple sales reps, finance Miscommunication between multiple reps, 4+ hours of wasted time, xx run around, promised a call back to work on offer by multiple sales reps, finance guy was a bit pushy and didn't want seem to want my business. I have tier 1 credit and was willing to put money down with a reasonable but minimally stretched payment on their part. I should have read the other reviews before I went there. I'll never recommend them to anyone. What total disrespect on their part. A simple phone call to let me know it's not going to work or that they aren't interested would have been fine. Little do they know I was planning on getting a second one for myself in 4 to 6 months. More
Terrible Business Practices...Do not care about customers What do you think really happened??????? My car had almost 200,000 miles on it so I found one on carfinder, and emailed the dealer, Shaver Automotive. What do you think really happened??????? My car had almost 200,000 miles on it so I found one on carfinder, and emailed the dealer, Shaver Automotive. The salesman said the car needed a new radio and they would let me know when it was done. A few days later, I called again, and they said it needed to be smogged. A few days later, I called and they said it needed a radio and to be smogged. I asked them why it took a week to do those two things that should take two hours....they said they had to look it all over. I just asked him not to sell it to anyone else, and he laughed and said he wouldn't. The next week, they called and said they were still working on it. I had looked up the VIN number (at my expense) and no records. I was assured over and over that it was a good car. There were very low miles. I was really looking forward to the car. While I waited, I borrowed a friend's car. The salesman made no effort to have me come in. After two weeks, they said I could pick up the car the next day. He said it took so long because there were presales ahead of me. That was the first I heard of presales. I made an appointment for the afternoon because I play the church services in the mornings. Before I could get there, I get a call from the salesman that he was sorry, but the car was already sold. I told him I had been waiting two weeks for that car. I asked him why he didn't offer me a presale. He said that could have been a possibility. Made me wonder whether they ever even had that car, or what took them two weeks? Maybe they were taking out all the newer parts since there was low mileage, and putting in older parts. I don't know. We also told them we wanted to buy a truck from them, so if they had treated us right, we would have given them more business. At no time did they even offer me another car, or let me know what else they had for sale, want to talk to us about trucks. It was just, no, sorry, your car is sold, after we waited two weeks for it. My husband is in the military and we bank with USAA. They offer a great car buying service where they work with a group of certified dealers who they "back" to help customers sell their cars. You send in a l offer a great car buying service where they work with a group of certified dealers who they "back" to help customers sell their cars. You send in a listing of your vehicle including everything about the car. Problems, additions, everything and it goes out to the dealers. They then decide if they are interested and send you a no haggle quote. We recieved one from Shaver saying they wanted to buy my husbands truck. We called USAA to make sure the offer was real before we drove all the way out there(60 miles) and they said as long as everything matched( meaning everything that we listed that was right or wrong about the truck was true) then that was the guaranteed price! We drove all the way out there to first find that the guy who sent us the quote didn't even show up to the appointment so we were stuck dealing with a guy Danny. He came out and looked at the truck and noted that everything we said was wrong with it ( small dent, small tear in the seat, aftermarket air intake) was all true! He then went on to say how it was going to cost them this much to fix and he had to drop the price down $700! NOT OUR PROBLEM! We didn't make them send us a quote. They went out of their way to contact us and send us a quote for the truck EVEN after reading all the things we listed that were wrong. He didn't care. Kept saying well it's going to cost us more then we thought. AGAIN NOT OUR PROBLEM. We listed in detail all the issues and they knew about them before making the quote! He was so rude and had the worst attitude. Saying he didn't like confrontation so take it or leave it! I even asked him if he even understood where we were coming from driving all the way here after. Being told that was the price we would get and he said " I'm not doing this with you either take it or leave it. I don't care if you think I'm an A**hole. " He is in the wrong profession to not want to deal with confrontation and customer service. My husband and I called USAA furious who said that wasn't how it is suppose to work. As long as we listed the issues they were suppose to give us the price they quoted. USAA. Was upset and I doubt they will be working with Shaver either. I have never been so furious at the lack of customer service in my life! Don't do business with them, go More
Received a call from Tim Ott to purchase my vehicle that I had listed on Craigslist a few hours earlier. I brought my car in, he inspected it, did his own research and then we negotiated a price that we we I had listed on Craigslist a few hours earlier. I brought my car in, he inspected it, did his own research and then we negotiated a price that we were both satisfied. I found Tim friendly, courteous, and honest and straightforward. I would not hesitate to recommend Tim if you are considering selling your car. More
Shaver Jeep has always done a great job in servicing my 2002 Jeep Liberty. Alas- Last week my Jeep's engine died (after many years of me putting it through the ringer on the trails) and even though I repla 2002 Jeep Liberty. Alas- Last week my Jeep's engine died (after many years of me putting it through the ringer on the trails) and even though I replaced it with a non-Jeep vehicle (much to my dismay), Sales Manager Tim Ott still went the extra mile for me. There was pretty much no value left in my Jeep, as it had the engine failure and couldn't be driven into auction, yet Tim was still able to take it off my hands for a small price even though I didn't trade it in for a vehicle off of their lot. I think it says a lot about Tim as an individual, and also Jeep as company, when they are more concerned about helping past and possible future clients by "doing right by them" when they could have easily turned me away and said that they couldn't do anything to help me in my situation. I will gladly send referrals and business their way! More
I was trying to sell my wife's car and Tim Ott emailed me stating that they would like to see the car. Once the car arrived and I met Tim, the whole experience was easy and took much less time th emailed me stating that they would like to see the car. Once the car arrived and I met Tim, the whole experience was easy and took much less time than anticipated. I think we were in and out within 30 minutes and the check was ready soon after that. A very pleasant experience. Thanks Tim! More
This was the worse experience I have ever had! I went to test drive a car that I was interested in and the car salesman asked for my drivers license to photo copy. Not only did he not return my drivers lic test drive a car that I was interested in and the car salesman asked for my drivers license to photo copy. Not only did he not return my drivers license, he let me test drive this car alone without any plates in the car. I later realized that I had not been given my drivers license back. I immediately called Tim and let him know. He told me, " I left it in the copy machine." I told him I would be in first thing in the morning to pick it up. I arrived at the dealership only to find out that my drivers license was taken home with him and he was off for the day so I would just have to wait until he worked again. I asked to speak to a manager. John McCann came out and told me there was nothing he could do about it and to come back tomorrow. Not only was he extremely rude, he did nothing to make the situation better. I was lied to over and over again and told that this was my fault. I had no drivers license from Thursday night until Saturday PM, while it was in somebody else s hands. Not only is it a safety issue for me, it is a federal offense to take someones license, and there is fraud committed everyday and identity theft, but the manager had the audacity to tell me "it was no big deal."!I have tried to reach the owner of Shaver several times and my call has not been returned. This is by far the worse dealership to deal with!!! More

Tim helped us sell a vehicle that was was coming up to lease end with 2 payments left and we were over miles. Tim worked with us and even though the autotrader.com quote was less than we needed to pay off lease end with 2 payments left and we were over miles. Tim worked with us and even though the autotrader.com quote was less than we needed to pay off our car, Tim worked with us and after a few minutes, worked it out where Shaver purchased our car with minimal contribution from us, literally saving us thousands of dollars if we have waited to lease end. Tim was friendly, professional, and worked hard to make sure we were able to complete the transaction. I would highly recommend Tim if you need to sell your vehicle. More
