I live over 75 miles away from dealership, but went there, because salesman told me the vehicle I liked was available and the price was reasonable with a good financing rate and monthly payment.I asked there, because salesman told me the vehicle I liked was available and the price was reasonable with a good financing rate and monthly payment.I asked if I could go on Saturday and take the vehicle,I was told no,come today Thursday or financing wouyldnt approve me.Called the credit manager and he said the same thing. Was such a good deal I went.So I drover there, left my house at 4:30 pm,arrived at Shavers at 9:00 pm cause of traffic.Looked at vehicle test drove it and was satisfied.Went to finance and payment was increased by $100/month.So I got up too leave, but was stopped by salesmanger and asked why.I told him and he told me no one can quote a price over the phone. When salesman was asked he said around. Then I asked for a ex-warranty and was told financing wouldnt approve that amount.Got up to leave and was asked if we add it would you buy vehicle.I said yes. Then he came with a drivetrain warrany for $1000.Which jeep already covered. Then he came back with no bumber to bumber is available. Then he showed me GE warranty which covered what I wanted.I find out now, they didnt add power tech and electronics which I specifically asked for, and thought I bought.Well both front window motors and acuator broke.$600 each to fix.Stay away.Wish I knew before I went.Deal was to good to be true More
Needed a cheap car to take duagther to and from day care after moving from Arizona. As a Britsh lifelong biker, I had a motorcycle worth a minimum of $3500 at trade in values according to Kellys Blue Book a after moving from Arizona. As a Britsh lifelong biker, I had a motorcycle worth a minimum of $3500 at trade in values according to Kellys Blue Book and NADA. After a 12 hour working day, I arrived on the Shaver used auto lot to check out a vehicle that had already been sold. I stated to both the salesman, Phil, and to the used auto manager, Larry, that I needed the minimum trade in value of $3500 from the bike and wanted to finance any remaining amount. Decided on a cheap ($6995) 2000 Ford Explorer. I repeated that I HAD to get minimum trade-in value for the bike otherwise I'd walk off the lot. I was presented with a contract that fitted my monthly budget and signed. I was still working 12 hour days for the remainder of the week and when I finally checked the contract, thinking I had a 30 day colling off period, I found out that Larry had only given me $500 as the value of the bike as a depsoit and had also charged me very high interest rate without relating it to my credit score. I'd also not realised that you only get 2 days to cancel a deal here in California I returned to Shavers and queried this, thinking it was a simple typo but was informed by the general sales manager, Mickey Shaver, that the most he would offer was around $500 of servicing after ripping me off for $3000! I went to a dealer to avoid problems and as this is only the second car I've ever bought and expected to at least be able to get a reasonable amount for the trade of my bike. These guys basically saw an easy target and took full advantage of the situation by screwing me for $3000 on a trade-in that's now costing me over $10000 for a $6995 vehicle. I can't begin to describe how bad I feel about letting my family down, allowing myself to get so easily scammed and the anger I feel towards these slimeballs. More
This was the WORST experience I could imagine in attempting to purchase a car. I test drove the car I loved and had a good experience with the employee who helped us in this department. Though, whe attempting to purchase a car. I test drove the car I loved and had a good experience with the employee who helped us in this department. Though, when Paul, the sleazy sales person moved in it was all downhill. He quoted us a price on the vehilce outside which is what we were willing to pay, bottom line. After spending 3 hours at this awful establishment Paul went back on his word and raised the price of the car by 2,000. Making the price of a used '04 Grand Cherokee 29,000 out the door--WAY OVERPRICED! So we left, tired and worn out from being lied to. I called the next day to speak with the manager, Larry Purnell, about our expereince. Instead of appologizing he actually said to me "You wasted our time". This is the utmost worst customer service I can imagine and I plan to inform the Jeep Corporate office of what slime they have selling their cars at Shaver in Thousand Oaks. More
I've had the unpleasant experience of dealing with this inefficient and rude dealership twice now. First time, my car was damaged by a transport company and so I had it taken to Shaver. It took weeks for t inefficient and rude dealership twice now. First time, my car was damaged by a transport company and so I had it taken to Shaver. It took weeks for them to solve the most simple problem and I was told everything was on backorder (a clutch, etc.)

The second time I went to return my vehicle and met with the nastiest, most unhelpful, rudest manager you could possibly run into. In summary, Shaver Jeep keeps the sleazy, despicable auto salesman stereotype alive and well and will continue to do so for many years to come. Don't step within ten feet of this outfit. They are monsters. More
