Keir is really great to get service from. Really friendly and knowledgeable. And I don't just mean "knowledgeable " in a cliche way... He even told me the name of an obscure Jeep part that I thought was kind and knowledgeable. And I don't just mean "knowledgeable " in a cliche way... He even told me the name of an obscure Jeep part that I thought was kind of strange, he said it's called a "mucket." I come here all the way from Redondo Beach when I'm visiting nearby friends. And the showroom is the most comfy and nicest looking Jeep place to hang out in while waiting. More

I was in the market for buying a car for a week and looking at different models from different dealers. Although i was originally interested in buying used, i came across the Chrysler dealership in Tho looking at different models from different dealers. Although i was originally interested in buying used, i came across the Chrysler dealership in Thousand Oaks auto mall. I met with Brenton Laughlin (internet sales manager) and he was very knowledgeable and courteous. He never made me wait long and he worked hard on getting me the best deal and finding the right car. I later found out he had to get a vehicle trade between his dealership and one from over a hundred miles away and had it back within a day. That is real customer service and commitment. I got the car i wanted and it was a new car instead of a used one. I would absolutely recommend Brenton and this dealership to anyone that's ready for another car. More
I bought a Prius on 2/19/2012 from Shaver and it was a terrible experience. I worked with the Salesman, Darrel, and he was a nice guy and got us a pretty good deal on a used Prius we like. However, the fi terrible experience. I worked with the Salesman, Darrel, and he was a nice guy and got us a pretty good deal on a used Prius we like. However, the finance guy, Lorenzo, pushed us to sign without giving us time to review. The dealership hardly had any customers when we were there, but Lorenzo seemed to be in a hurry all the time and was definitely on personal calls a lot. Anyway, Lorenzo told us that Nitrofil and Vehicle Theft would come with the Prius. I asked Lorenzo why Shaver was so nice to their customers by giving them free Nitrofil and Vehicle Theft, Lorenso then told us that was the way Shaver did their business, Shaver was always nice to their customers. We trusted him and did not mind being rushed to sign all the paper and simply thought he wanted to go home early since it was Sunday. Now I know he had a reason, he did not want us to read the paper thoroughly. He knew I am 54 yrs old and needed time to read without my bifocals. He purposely did not want to give us time to read the paper. When I got home and started reading the final bill, I was charged $292 for the Vehicle Theft and $179 for Nitrofil (I specifically asked Lorenzo why they were free when we were there in his office, he said Shaver was being nice to their customers). I called Lorenzo from home, but the manager, John, said Lorenzo was busy. My wife and I drove back to Shaver the same day on 2/19/2012 just about 2 hours after we purchased the car (about 40 miles distance) and was hoping to talk to Lorenzo so we could cancel the two warranties we did not ask for before it was too late. John, the manager, stopped us at the lobby and told us that we should be happy with the deal even though we paid ~$500 extra on the warranties that we did not agree on. We requested to speak with Lorenzo, John said it was not necessary because the deal was too low and they have to charge us for the Nitrofil and Vehicle Theft to make up for their loss with or without our knowledge. He further said ALL Shaver customers have paid and will pay Nitrofil, did not matter if the customers were aware of these charges and did not matter if Shaver has misled them, what mattered was they signed the final bills. I was totally shocked by what he said. This whole conversation with John was taped. I may use it to support any legal actions that we may take. Don't buy from Shaver, if you do, don't listen to what they say or claim, read carefully how much they charge you on the final bill (item by item) before agreeing to buy. They may verbally mislead you and throw in some charges you may have never heard of. What a terrible experience!!!! Update: This is an update on the Prius I bought on 2/19/2012. When I was on my way home with the Prius on 2/19/2012, I noticed that the vinyle of the back door (passenger side) was damaged (I think it was caused by the safety belt buckle that got caught by the door, I did not see that when I test drove the car, it could have happened when Shaver washed the car right before I picked up the car). I immediately called Darrell up when I got home on 2/19/2012 and he said he was busy with a customer, he also told me to go to Service the next day and they would take care of it. I went back to Shaver the next day 2/20/2012 at 9:15 am (appointment was scheduled by the assistant manager, Keir) to get the loose spoiler fixed and put on 2 new hupcaps for the tires as stated on the due bill. I mentioned to Keir that the vinyl damage should be repaired too and Darrell ok'd it on the phone (not on the due bill since I did not notice it until after I picked up the car). I waited from 9:15 am to about 1:00 pm yesterday at the nearby McDonald's (2/20/2012), got a call from Keir. Keir told me on the phone that the spoiler was fixed (I inspected later and found out that it was not completely fixed, it is still loose). Keir also said the hupcaps are not available and I would have to come back the next day. I told Keir that he could mail them to me, I did not want to drive to Shaver 3 days in a roll, Keir said I should get them on or before this Friday thru mail (I am crossing my fingers and hoping I will get them by Friday). As far as the vinyl, Keir told me on the phone that Darrell said he did not authorize it. I then walked to Shaver from the nearby McDonald's to meet with Darrell. When Darrell saw me in front of Shaver, he told me to go away, he said Shaver was losing money on the deal, they would not do anything on the car. He was extremely rude and said he did not want to talk to me. He told me to talk to the manager. I then went inside the dealership and talked to the manager, Tyler (I believe that was his name). When I tried to explain to Tyler about the vinyl damage, he told me he was getting sick and tired of talking about the car I just purchased, and then he rudely continued: " Today is a very important day to me, I need to make money, I want you to leave my dealership immediately, if you don't leave, I will get help to get you out of my dealership". I walked out to Service to pick up my partially repaired Prius and leave. Wow, I got kicked out of the dealership. I waited about 4 hours, my spoiler was still loose, no hupcaps as promised, vinyl damage is still there, I was charged ~$500 on the warranties I did not ask for. They kept saying they lost money on the deal, why did they accept my offer if they would lose so much money on the deal? why didn't they wait for the next customer who could afford to pay Shaver more money? Why couldn't they honestly tell me Nitrofil and Auto Theft came with the Prius BUT AT A COST? More
we just had a new addition to the family so we were in the market for a new car that would be big enough for our family and work as well. After researching for about 5 months, i decided to get a dodge dur the market for a new car that would be big enough for our family and work as well. After researching for about 5 months, i decided to get a dodge durango. I felt that the dodge offered the most for my money. Shaver Auto (thousand oaks) and Glen Thomas dodge (long beach) both had a sale on a 2012 dodge durango citadel. I decided to go with Shaver Auto, because of their internet manager Brenton Mclauglin. He went above and beyond the call of duty to make the sale. His no xx approach was welcoming. He gave a price and i said "lower" he worked for me and got it lowered at a great apr. There were now games and no sleazy car dealers here. I live about 1 hour away from Shaver and only 10 mins away from glen thomas but gave my business to Shaver because Brenton treated me like a person and not a profit margin. He even drove the car down and delivered it to me. How about that for customer service? if you want a no haggle car buying experience where they treat you like you mean something, then i highly recommend Shaver Auto. Ask for Brenton and you will not be disappointed. More
Special ordered a Jeep Wrangler, and when a problem came up during the manufacturing/shipping process, and the delivery, of the car, was delayed for a substantial time, Darrel kept me updated on the cars st up during the manufacturing/shipping process, and the delivery, of the car, was delayed for a substantial time, Darrel kept me updated on the cars status the whole time. Also, when it finally came time for me to pick up my Wrangler, even though we had already negotiated a final price, John McCann worked with me on a discount, even though the delay was no fault of their own. Which I very much appreciated. I walked out of there a satisfied customer! More
I got in touch with Brenton originally through the internet and had some questions to ask about the vehicle prior to making the long drive up to the dealership from my home. Brenton and I exchanged m internet and had some questions to ask about the vehicle prior to making the long drive up to the dealership from my home. Brenton and I exchanged many emails over the course of two weeks or so as I was looking at many other vehicles. He kept me engaged and interested and answered my questions completely. Brenton was also very flexible with me in terms of dealing with my hectic schedule to arrange a time to come drive the car. When I finally got up to the dealership, Brenton was very professional and fair in our dealings and made me feel comfortable. I walked away thrilled with my new vehicle and the price I paid for it! What more could I ask for? Thanks, Brenton! More
