We chose to use our own financing which was a much better rate than Hyundai so I had to do a little legwork myself. It was Friday morning and I needed a formal PO to complete the process at my bank so we could pick up the car which we had targeted for Saturday. Upon calling Shakers my salesman had the day off but was assured Charlie would get me the PO in a few minutes. I waited till the afternoon and was told by the same person that Charlie would get it right over to me. Needless to say I never heard from anyone the rest of the day. To my knowledge this is not a time consuming job to plug a few numbers into a box which calculates automatically but apparently a big job for Charlie. The following Monday I called my salesperson and got the PO in 10 minutes, had financing in an hour, and was prepared to pick up the car that night, so we scheduled it for 5:30. We arrived a few minutes early and waited well over an hour before signing the paperwork. After the transaction was complete we were informed that they could not find the second key, which is mandatory on a CPO vehicle, but was told they would get in touch when found and give a call. Almost a week goes by and I have not heard from Shakers so I called my salesman and he said he had it on his desk. I went and picked up the key. I should have known then by the lack of communication that this was a less than professional operation. The nest issues were regarding call backs because paperwork was not filled out properly by the Shakers business department. The first was because the names were entered incorrectly. Between my wife working 12 hour shifts at a hospital and me working out of town the earliest we could there together was a Saturday morning. I explained I needed to be there at 9 and be out promptly because I had a 9:45 meeting 30 miles away. We got there at 9 and no salesman who arranged this. He strolls in at 9:06 like nothing was wrong and by the time anyone knew what was going on I was 15 minutes late for my meeting. The second call back was a few weeks later because they failed to get my wife’s signature on one of the documents. Only three call backs after the sale…not bad with no apology. As a matter of fact Ed Shaker was more concerned about blaming the state for changing laws, which had nothing to do with any of these situations, than accepting responsibility. On 6/15 I called the service department to schedule an oil change which I assumed was no big deal, but at Shakers it is. I could not get an appointment until7/12 so I opted to go our local repair shop who scheduled me for the next day and had it done. I called again on 7/14 because there were some brake issues which surfaced shortly after purchase but was going to have handled on my first oil change but we know what happened there so I was able to get an appointment for 8/10 at which time I was told I needed brakes and rotors. After 3.5 months that sounds unreasonable so I again spoke too Ed Shaker, who is less than impressive by the way, and he explained it would be at my expense. After explaining the scheduling issues he was unsympathetic. I even explained that this is my fifth Hyundai. He asked if I purchased them all at Shakers to which I responded no. His response to that was “Then I don’t care”. Not exactly what I would have expected…or maybe I should have. There was always a hesitancy on my part to purchase from Shakers and now I know why. I was choosing between an on line purchase but decided the right thing to do is to support local business. I am currently convinced that was not the best decision. Buying transparently may be good for Shakers but the worst shopping experience of my life regardless of the industry. More

This was my first new car purchase (at 60yo!!) and this is a very technologically complicated vehicle. A 2nd Ioniq certified salesman spent about 45 minutes walking me through every aspect. There were horror stories of dealers upselling this car for thousands more than MSRP but my car was exactly what I expected. Highly recommend the car and dealer. More
If I could give this dealership 0 stars I would. We've given them three chances and today was the last straw. All three times we went to this dealership we were interested in the Kona EV. The first two times (2019 & 2020) we went to them we worked with a salesman named Angel. Both times he was not knowledgeable about the Kona EV and was providing incorrect information when we asked questions about said vehicle. The second time he worked with us we were at the dealership for almost 3 hours, mainly because he forgot about us, and we sat waiting for the dealer plate so we could test drive the vehicle. At this point we were fed up and decided not to move forward. Fast forward to our current experience today with Danielle, the internet sales manager. Now you would think we'd learn our lesson having now two bad experiences, but we chalked it up to our experiences with our original salesman. So we gave them another chance as they were the only one with a 2022 Kona EV in stock locally. I scheduled a test drive for this morning and confirmed twice with Danielle throughout our communications that the 2022 Kona EV was still in stock. After we spent 20 minutes working with Andre, we were told that the 2022 Kona EV was not in stock and had been delayed. Due to that we chose to leave as we weren't interested in the 2021 model. Upon our exit we went over to Danielle to follow up and she stated "The model sold this week, I apologize for not contacting you." We saw this as unacceptable, especially after I let her know we had poor experiences the first two times. We were assured this would be a much better experience. When we said we were upset with our now third poor experience with this dealership and that we would be providing a negative review, Danielle's response was "Sure, go ahead" without even attempting to rectify the situation. As we turned to leave she said VERY condescendingly "have a nice day (as her coworkers chuckled behind our backs)." This has definitely ruined our relationship with the dealership and it's also soured the brand of Hyundai itself for us. BUYER BEWARE. More
When u bring a car to the dealership & ur told its covered by the warranty & then u go pick it up .... they tell u its not covered by the warranty.... its bull. U would think they would tell u before covered by the warranty & then u go pick it up .... they tell u its not covered by the warranty.... its bull. U would think they would tell u before they fix it that its not covered so ur not surprised. Dealerships & their service departments are nothing but a joke. More
