No matter how flashy the commercials are or how much they hype up “The Sewell Experience,” don’t believe the lies. My experience with Sewell Cadillac of Houston has been nothing short of terrible, and I can hype up “The Sewell Experience,” don’t believe the lies. My experience with Sewell Cadillac of Houston has been nothing short of terrible, and I can confidently say this will be my last interaction with this dealership. This is my third Cadillac, and without a doubt, this has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with any dealership. Honestly, I would have been better off buying a car from Matilda’s dad. The red flags were there from the start—I should’ve known better when they initially tried to get me to sign for a car I had never even seen just so they could meet their end-of-the-month quotas. Unfortunately, things only went downhill from there. While the salesman was helpful, that was the only positive part of this experience. I never met directly with the finance department; instead, they relayed everything through the salesman, which should have been another warning sign. I purchased the car right before closing, and because it was dark, I didn’t notice a hole in the front seat of what was supposed to be a brand-new car. The business department also completely dropped the ball—GM Financial called me for three weeks because Sewell failed to send them the payoff for my trade-in. To make matters worse, they didn’t complete the proper paperwork for my vehicle, bombarded me with texts after the fact to get my signature on documents that should have been handled before I ever left the lot, and made empty promises. I was told I couldn’t even schedule a simple car wash I was promised at purchase because their assistant was out. Over a week has passed, and still, no one has reached out. To top it all off, they conveniently failed to mention until after the purchase that I would only receive one free oil change—unlike my previous Cadillac leases, which included free oil changes for the duration of the lease. Bottom line: do not go to Sewell Cadillac of Houston. I wish I never did. The so-called “Sewell Experience” is nothing more than a frustrating, dishonest, and unprofessional disaster. More
As all of you, I have seen the commercials about becoming a "SEWELL" customer. I was excited to find a car dealership that didn't play games with clients and add "addendums" to their vehicles. I spoke with a a "SEWELL" customer. I was excited to find a car dealership that didn't play games with clients and add "addendums" to their vehicles. I spoke with a salesman named Hamza about two 2025 Escalades that had just arrived. I promptly sent him all of my trade info so he could work an "over the phone" deal with me. I explained I was an hour away from his dealer, but was drawn the the customer service they advertised. I also questioned him about making sure there was no dealer "adds", as I feel like we are done with the days of that. He agreed, and supposedly went on to work my deal. More than 24 hours passed and no response (which is very unprofessional in my opinion). I happened to be about 30 min from the dealership the next day and decided to drive over (maybe they would pay better attention to me in front of them). Upon finding Hamza, I told him who I was and he looked like he had made a mistake because he never got back to me. He then bounced around for 15 min trying to locate the vehicle supposed to be available. He returned and one was sold and one was not able to be located?? Strange, but I asked him to just run the numbers while I was there anyway as I know what I want in the new vehicle. He scurried off to his manager and came back with the most rediculous trade in price on my truck that I've ever seen, they were $17k below any other dealer's starting price on my trade. They also have additional charges of the tire locks ($25) and tint (front two windows only $75) for $1595 additional. Mislead about a vehicle being available, insulted with a low ball trade price, and if that's what being a "SEWELL" is all about, I will never be a client... Buyer's beware, they are not what they advertise. More
They were great to work with. We live in Dallas but the car we wanted was in Houston. We were able to negotiate a deal through email and text with one final call. Electric Vehicles Buyers BEWARE. In the many years of buying vehicles from Sewell Cadillac or Sewell MB of W. Houston, they're now doing "typical" dealer stuff. I suspect they're un In the many years of buying vehicles from Sewell Cadillac or Sewell MB of W. Houston, they're now doing "typical" dealer stuff. I suspect they're under new management, or a younger generation Sewell relative. They're recommending "scheduled maintenance" work that's not required by GM. You buy an electric under the expectation that your maintenance cost is LESS than an ICE vehicle. So to help THEM generate revenue anyways, I guess they've decided to recommend Tire balancing and front-end alignments, and god knows what else at scheduled intervals. It's pure xx. If you buy a Lyriq you can obviously afford whatever maintenance they throw out there, so it's the principle of the matter. But you can also afford buying all sorts of other vehicles next time you're in the market as well. I never expected Sewell to be become just another typical dealer. Unfortunate. Sad part, is they have so many great reviews from the past, this one wont' matter to them. But hey, this might help someone better manage their expectations when buying their next Sewell. It's behaving like all the TYPICAL dealers now. SMH More
I found my XT5 on Cars. com and inquired about availability. Mackenzie responded in a timely manner and, even though I never met her, she went to great lengths to give us com com and inquired about availability. Mackenzie responded in a timely manner and, even though I never met her, she went to great lengths to give us complete information and answer every concern we had. She even arranged for us to complete the purchase through one of their dealerships near us relieving us of a 6 hour drive to get it. We’re VERY happy with our experience with Sewell, and are head over heels over our new (used) Cadillac. More
