(oil trap cracking for which volvo sent out a letter and failure of the ABS module) The service manager may have been new, but he was unaware of either issue. After showing him the letter Volvo sent extending the warranty for the oil trap, he re - wrote the ticket as warranty work. I also asked him to contact Volvo to see if they would offer assistance on the ABS pump as it is a known problem. He said he would. We dropped the car off on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and still had not heard anything back by Monday, so we called them. They said the car was done. I asked about assistance on the ABS pump and he did not contact volvo. I asked them to lock the keys in the car so I could pick it up after hours. When we picked up the car, there were no keys in it. There were bolts left on the windshield wiper tray that the mechanic did not reinstall when he put the car back together. Opened the hood and could see where at least one went. Don't know about the other one. Generally crap service and crap workmanship. Don't go here for service!!! More
Worst customer service anywhere, service director Chris Balderrama is a lying conman. Does not use OEM parts. Does not keep their word. Lies about proper service procedures. The repair on my Volv Balderrama is a lying conman. Does not use OEM parts. Does not keep their word. Lies about proper service procedures. The repair on my Volvo XC90 V8 was not done using Volvo OEM parts, and I was lied to many times by service director Chris Balderrama. After taking my XC90 to SESI for tie rod end replacement, I noticed that my steering rack boot was only held on by one small plastic zip tie, and a large but loose zip tie. My original Volvo OEM metal clamps were thrown away. Two service managers who worked for Chris Balderrama told me that they will re-do the work using the correct Volvo metal clamps without any further labor charges. After arriving back at SESI for the 3rd time when the part was finally ready, a service manager assured me that I would not be re-charged for labor. However, after more waiting, the service director Chris Balderrama tells me that I will be charged for a realignment. He would not honor what I had been told by his service managers. He also told me that Volvo authorizes him to use plastic zip ties in lieu of the OEM metal clamps. When requested to see service procedures stating that a plastic zip tie can substitute Volvo's metal clamps, he said he did not have it. Chris Balderrama also said that the non-OEM plastic zip ties were stronger than Volvo's metal clamps. Chris Balderrama said that he will not perform the work his service managers agreed to perform and that there was nothing wrong with his substitution of a plastic zip tie for an OEM metal clamp. At this point, after having wasted many trips and many hours, and been lied to repeatedly like I'm an idiot, I yelled some profanities at Chris Balderrama. Chris Balderrama said for me to never come back to SESI again and threatened to call the police when in reality he fraudulently charged me for improper work not done using OEM Volvo parts. I checked the Volvo factory service manual (VIDA 2010d) and it clearly states for clamps, and not plastic ties, to be used; the part numbers for the proper clamps are clearly given in the service manual as well. I will be taking action to recover my $800 repair bill as well as reporting their fraudulent activities to VCNA and the BBB. More
I bought a great looking 2001 Volvo V70XC at a public auction near Savannah, GA. At the time I was unaware of the transmission problems these cars suffered from, but with the price I paid for the car, It auction near Savannah, GA. At the time I was unaware of the transmission problems these cars suffered from, but with the price I paid for the car, It was still worth it. I spoke with some local Southeastern Georgia Volvo dealers and the price I was quoted was %5,500 to replace the transmission. I drove the Car from Georgia to Michigan with the transmission acting up but working fine. When I arrived in southeastern Michigan, I looked up Volvo dealers and came across Sesi. I spoke with a Chris in service who was very accommodating and helpful. The price he quoted me was very reasonable and within a month the transmission was changed and is now covered under Volvo's two year replacement warranty. Total spent at Sesi was $5,010. The price was for a new transmission from Volvo, a new timing belt, installed, and a rear main seal. They did all the work in two days and my wife and I could not be happier. We will definitely be taking our car back for service and maintenance. I was treated with nothing but respect and courtesy from Chris, the porter, and the cashier. I would have no problem recommending Sesi for Volvo repair and service. More
I brought an 10 year old Volvo in for recall work and to have an oil change. The service manager I met on the first night was less than interested in helping me (he seemed more interested in his own persona have an oil change. The service manager I met on the first night was less than interested in helping me (he seemed more interested in his own personal issues on his cell phone). I asked for an oil change at the service desk when I dropped off the care where is a sign quoting $32.90 for an oil change. When I picked up the car they charged me $59.00 for an oil change (unbelievable). I asked why the sign said $32.90 and I was charged almost double. The same service manager approached me and explained the oil change for Volvos was higher and they told me he quoted me the $59.00 rate the night before. I argued he didn't quote me on this rate and this wasn't acceptable, competitive, or even reasonable. He didn't make any adjustments to the bill or even try to turn this sitation into a positive experience. In fact he argued the sign was only for Mercury's and Lincoln's. I asked him to show me where on the sign it showed it didn't apply to Volvos (after all the same desk is used for all car brands). I would strongly recommend not taking your car in for service!! These guys are a rip off, their customer service sucks, and they are not interested in keeping/building a customer for life. Take your car to Sweedish Engineering - at least they understand the value in keeping a customer!!! More
