I started looking at trading my 15 year old car with 144,000.00 miles in early November 2019. Within a few days I was casually looking at some different late model used cars on a website that tells you 144,000.00 miles in early November 2019. Within a few days I was casually looking at some different late model used cars on a website that tells you if the dealer price is above, below or average for the car. I was contacted by Michael Sides from Serra Toyota. I told him I was just starting to look at what is out there, I am in no rush, I don’t even know what I want, used or new or even with a make or model. Michael said he understood, he asked if he could touch base with me and I told him sure he could. Every so often he sends a message to check in on my search and asked if I come to Serra Toyota to come see him, so I would assure him every time we chatted I would. Finely the last week of January 2020 I got myself more motivated to get this car business done. Soon my days at work are about to become more hectic and that will put car looking not happening for 7 or 8 months. I go on line and find NONE at Serra Toyota used cars but I did find 3 cars at other Serra lots, I sent Michael the information on them and asked if I can work with him on them he said sure we will when did I want to come see him. We set a time for Saturday afternoon February 1 about 3:30 after I get off work. After sitting with Michael & his manager with no way to make a fair deal on anything from the other Serra lots Michael takes me to the new cars explaining to me how leases work now he gets the keys for me to drive a new SUV, it was nice but the money was not working out for me to be comfortable, Michael knew I could afford it but he let that SUV go he gets a car for me to drive and it was nice except it was to small for me and it had black interior. He knew I was open to any color inside and out just not black or red. Michael went back to the person in charge of car keys told them again any color no black or red and he comes to me with a SUV I never considered at all, he asked if I would drive it and at least keep it in mind so I did. At 8:00 pm I went home from the lot and told michael I will be back Monday evening after work with my car I am trading and pick up my new Rav 4 SUV that I never considered looking at in the last 3 months of looking at cars.
