I called Rivertown on a specific car that was advertised on-line. I explained to the saleman, Joe Gallant, that I needed someone to be my eyes, to look the car over to tell me what condition the body was i on-line. I explained to the saleman, Joe Gallant, that I needed someone to be my eyes, to look the car over to tell me what condition the body was in because I have been told before how used cars must pass a rigorous inspection list, only to find the car totally misrepresented. It was pointless to waste time for both parties. If I made the hour and a half trip, I would not be happy if the car was appreciably different. When he called me back, he said that he had looked the car over in and out and there were only a few small scratches on the bumper. He said that of course he could not guarantee that there were not a few more that he might not have caught, but that it was in good shape including the interior. When I got there, I saw immediately that not only were there several large deep scrapes that could not have been missed, but one bumper was actually split and above this area was a very unproffessional rough fill-in which had also split. I could see walking towards the car that it had been lightly side-swiped along the door panels! There was no way that this saleman walked around it, or even worse, if he did, he fully intended to do a bait and switch once I got there because I told him I was not interested in buying the car at a cheaper price, if the body was not in reasonably good shape. The salesman of course tried to say our differences about the condition of the car were judgement calls, and it could be fixed. The manager simply tried to gloss over the whole thing by saying that the car had not gone through the clean-up process and should not have been shown, but I pointed out that this was unlikely since it was obvious that the interior had been shampooed which would not be done doing bodywork. He did not even offer to compensate me for my gas; hejust tried to reassign another salesman. My advice is to not buy used or new cars from this place. More
I located a honda certified on line at rivertown I was interested in. I asked all the questions and got all the right answers. Scratched up exterior. Paint work on the hood and a grill assembly sticking our on one side and glued together. This car was not described in this condition by the salesman. I did not even start the vehicle. At least the salesman gave me a ride back to the bus station. The most miserable auto shopping experience in my life. So much for riverside honda and their certification process. More
I recently purchased a 2012 Honda Civic at Rivertown Honda. I had been to a lot of other dealers and really don't like buying cars. I was getting really frustrated with the way dealers treat women like they don't kow what they are doing. I actually had one salesperson at another dealership tell me to go talk to my husband. A freind from work told me about Rivertown and said they had a good experience there. When I called I was able to talk to Mike Leys the Sales Manager. Mike was very nice on the phone and offered to have the car brought to my work. I didn't take him up on his offer, but did stop in later that night. Mike showed me all of the options on the car and gave me a great price. My husband was also impressed that Mike directed all of his questions to me. Everyone was really friendly and they had plenty of cars available to choose from. When I need my next car I will only be making one stop. More
