Literally the worst car-buying experience I've ever had. Every single person in every department has screwed up and has wasted so much of my time and energy. I ended up buying a Toyota RAV4 from Penske, but wanted to get it checked out by my mechanic first to make sure everything was up to snuff. They acted like no one ever does that, and it was like pulling teeth for them to allow me to do this. Of course my mechanic found a few things wrong with the car, but all minor and fixable. Despite this, Penske did not budge on the price of the car so I told them I would not buy it unless these things were fixed. They worked up a Due Bill Contract promising to have the issues fixed, and said they would contact me to schedule the service. No one ever calls. So I call and it takes over a month to get something on the calendar because I keep getting passed off to different people/departments who don't know how to help me. Once I finally take it in and they tell me it's ready for pickup, I find that THEY DIDN'T COMPLETE THE WORK AT ALL. Emily, who was coordinating everything, apologized and said her manager would call me the next day. It's been over two weeks and I have not heard a word from anyone. I've called, emailed, texted, and no one will respond to me. Even emailed the Sales Manager, Bobby Stanton, and the General Manager, Ralph Cerulli, directly and still haven't heard a word. So unprofessional. The complete lack of basic customer service is absolutely astonishing and truly infuriating. If you buy a car from here, don't be surprised if you get royally screwed! More
I bought my Ford Fusion new from the la Mesa Ford dealer. Paid cash. A few years later I got a recall letter from Ford corporate. The car had a flaw in the passenger airbag that was potentially fatal to an occupant. I immediately contacted Penske Ford in la Mesa to have this repaired. They told me Ford did not have the part available and that I should periodically check back with them, they would not call me when the part arrived. Over three years later I was still getting the same response. They were very unhelpful. Frustrated I contacted Ford Corporate to find out why the part was not available. Ford told me the part was available and that they had had it in stock for a while. I went back to Penske Ford la Mesa and told them this. Penske Ford la Mesa again told me the part was not available. I contacted Ford corporate again to reaffirm the part was available, and again Penske Ford la Mesa told you no. So I went to another Ford dealership and they had it fixed in less than a week. I don't know Penske Ford la Mesa's true reasoning for putting me off like this, but they did it for several years (plus I was a regular customer for routine repairs with them). And remember this recall was for something that Ford Corporate said was POTENTIALLY FATAL in an accident. My personal recommendation is do not go to Penske Ford la Mesa. I have no intention of ever returning there again to purchase a new car or to have repairs done on my car. Shame on you Penske Ford la Mesa! More

Penske Ford La Mesa is the BEST! I am a repeat customer of Penske Ford La Mesa. They are by far the best car dealership I have ever worked with. From the Sales Dept., Finance Dept. From the Sales Dept., Finance Dept. and Service Dept., they leave other car dealerships in the dust. Jeff P. in the Sales Dept. and John C. in the Finance Dept. made sure I got the Ford Edge I wanted at the price and monthly payment I wanted. Jake N, has been my Service Advisor on my previous cars and I will continue to have him take care of my new car. I highly recommend anyone looking for a new car to go to Penske Ford La Mesa, you won't regret it. More

The service was done and then a few days later we tried to open the tailgate and it would not open using all the switches. Called the service adviser and he immediately told us to bring the vehicle in and it was a faulty switch and repaired it immediately great service ! More
They helped me find a wonderful car. It has all of the extras I have been wanting in my next new vehicle. We tend to hold on to our cars for many years so it needed to be fully equipped!! Another shop actually found the specific problem and fixed for $185 and in a few hours instead of replacin Penske estimate said repair would be $900. Another shop actually found the specific problem and fixed for $185 and in a few hours instead of replacing everything in the system and taking 1-2 days like every other time I took my truck in. Not only that the diagnosis was free, instead of $155 that Penske charged to give me an inflated estimate. Never going back. More
The Worst I have contacted this dealership many times online and visited the dealership twice regarding the truck I am interested in. Then no follow up. I even emailed the sales manager regarding this, he responded once then that was it. He is just as bad as his employees. Not to mention the crazy markups they have on their vehicles compared to others around them. Well they lost my business and I will be buying my 2 cars somewhere else. More
popped my tire I brought my 2016 f-150 truck in because the brakes were squealing loudly like the pads were worn out, even though it had only 21,000 miles on it. He was warm and welcoming. I waited for the brake check to be done. after an hour, which was reasonable, Mike came in and said the brakes were fine all around, He said the noise is due to the new composite brake pads and there was nothing to do about it, they just squeak. BUT he said, the tech popped a brand new tire on my truck when he took it off the rack. Accidents happen, and Mike said they were already getting the tire which they have in stock putting the new tire on at no charge and I would be done. Fair enough, but it took over 2 hours to put on a tire on, and even then I had to ask a person in the waiting room to check on it's status. for my trouble, I wasn't even given a car wash, a bit disappointing More
