Scott Clark Toyota responded

We document all repairs photographically whenever possible. We would've sown you your actual tire while you were there if you had asked so that you were aware of why it could not be repaired. It was also marked with a yellow grease pencil exactly 1 inch from the edge of the tread. We do hundreds of complimentary tire repairs every month. I was not there that morning my wife took the car in for inspection. She called me and told me what the problem was. I am well aware of the fact that a flat cannot be fixed if the hole is in the sidewall. On the phone I was willing to have Scott Clark put a new tire on there, but your service writer quoted me a price of about $300. I have bought many tires for many cars in my life time and knew that did not sound competitive. I immediately called Discount Tire where I have bought many sets of tires and have had many flats fixed. Their price for a replacement tire to match was about $200. When my wife took the car to Discount they looked at the puncture and fixed the flat. I knew from past experience at Discount Tire that there are some flats they will not repair, but they said that this flat was easily within their guidelines. Therefore, between the price of the tire that you quoted and the unwillingness to fix a flat that was fixed, I lost some confidence in the service department at Scott Clark,
