What a Car Sale Should be Like I am not the type of person that likes to spend or waste their day at a dealership. I try to do everything through email or text. I Rob know the year, make and model we were looking for as well as options and asked him to get us his best deal. I advised them I was serious and not looking to waste their time nor mine. Rob was amazing and got all the details of the deal together, we submitted an application after the deal was discussed an agreed to, all we had to do is go in and sign paperwork. Probably 45 minutes. No bull, no games. Amazing, amazing, amazing. I tried to do the same this with Arrigo, and dealt with a Lt Dan. He is the type of person that gives car salesman a bad rep. I tried to do the same this with Arrigo first as I have purchased two other vehicles from them, should have learned my lesson,as they were terrible experiences as well. So, Lt Dan said he would take care of me as I was a returning customer. worked the deal out, agreed and went in to get the car. It took them 30 min to find it, and when they brought it up, it was covered in bird xxxx and dirt, great presentation for me wanting to but the car. We went into finance and it was nothing we discussed or agreed to. Finance called Lt Dan in, we explained that this is not what was discussed, he tapped on the desk and said, "Guess we cant do the deal" and walked out. Really ? I love my car I have been wanting a Yellow Jeep Renegade since I first saw a picture of it back in 2014. They weren't even available at the time for purchase, but I have been wanting a Yellow Jeep Renegade since I first saw a picture of it back in 2014. They weren't even available at the time for purchase, but I loved it from the first time I saw it and I knew that was going to be my next car. I waited for the Renegades to be available in the US, but when they first started production, there weren't any Yellow Renegades available. I also wanted the power roof, but those seemed to have been postponed from production when the Renegades first came out. Finding a Yellow Jeep Renegade with a power roof seemed next to impossible. I waited 2.5 years and when my A/C on my Chevy finally went, I knew it was time to get a new car. I Googled my Jeep specifications and I expected none to appear in the search, but there was one that popped up. Then I thought it would be 100 miles away. As it happened, the car was only two blocks away from where I currently was anyway, so I held my friend hostage and made her come with me to the dealership. I only expected to look at the car to ensure that they actually had the one I wanted, but when I saw it really was the one I had been waiting for, it was a matter of the "when's, how's, where's and how much'es." I randomly was assigned a salesman by the name of Craig and right away he started with his sales pitch. I told him I didn't need a salesman, didn't like salesman and wasn't interested in the banter. He laughed and told me that he "wasn't a salesman" and was actually a former NYC Homicide Officer. That was much more interesting. I laid all my cards out on the table and told him the exact vehicle I wanted. He said all the things that typical car salesmen say. Blah blah blah. However, he told me he was a "Mensche" and I told him to prove it. The guy bought me and my friend Chick- Fil - A with the cash from his pocket. He also gave away his last can of his favorite drink from his personal fridge. I started to like this guy. Then I told him that I just wanted to get the car and go home. I had been up since 5 AM and was very tired. He expedited the sale, didn't mess me around, got the exact price I wanted and turned out to really be a "Mensche." For those of you who don't know what that means, it's "a person of integrity and honor" I don't usually say that about car salesmen, but I knew it to be the case when he came through with everything he said and I even got a dinner out of it for me and my friend. It also helped, I guess, that he'd been through 911. I'm from NY myself and I respected the fact that he tried to save lives and help with the clean-up after 911; not to mention it turned out we were both born in the same hospital in Brooklyn. Overall, I got the car I wanted at the price I wanted. It didn't take as long as it could have and I wound up driving home with a new car. Sure, there were some bumps along the process, but Craig went out of his way to fix all the bumps and came through with what he said he would. It was a good experience. More
