Sleazy Sales Department from the 80's I found a 2017 Miata I really liked on the internet. I contacted Shortline Mazda. I made an appointment. So far so good. When I arrived at Shortlin I found a 2017 Miata I really liked on the internet. I contacted Shortline Mazda. I made an appointment. So far so good. When I arrived at Shortline Mazda which is 1 1/2 hours from my home they couldn't find the car I was interested in. After a good wait, they found the car at one of their other dealerships. We drove and looked at it which was all I could do as they had lost the keys. More waiting. So back to the original dealership to wait some more for the keys. I really liked the car and negotiated an "OUT THE DOOR" price if the test drive went well. Well, I waited some more and they finally found the keys. The test drive went well so I waited some more while the paperwork was being done... and then some more waiting for the finance person. This was a cash deal so that shouldn't have been much of a problem. By now I had spent 5 1/2 hours at the dealer, mostly waiting. During all the waiting, I managed to get my future Mazda Miata purchase insured and arrange for some to help me get my Miata home. Finally, I get to see the finance person and hopefully write my check. SURPRISE, SURPRISE! "OUT THE DOOR" for Shortline Mazda means, the price you negotiated PLUS $600 Dealer Prep. I guess they figured after having wasted my day there I would just give up and pay the additional $600 of Dealer Prep. I have not had a SLEAZY buying experience like this since the early 80's. It is one thing if you cannot negotiate a price with a dealer. That is part of the buying ritual and I have no problem with that. It is another thing entirely if you can agree on a price and at the last step the dealer reneges on the deal. In conclusion, I didn't buy the car. I wasted 5 1/2 hours at the dealer and 3+ hours driving to and from the dealer. I can't recommend Shortline Mazda! It turned me off completely on buying a Mazda Miata which is a car you buy for pleasure and is in no way necessary. To make matters worse, I had the dreadful feeling that I had just had my identity taken with all the paperwork you fill out... so much so that I froze my credit right after that. Dreadful experience. Worst buying experience I have had since the 80's. Try Another Dealer! More

I had been doing business for my last 4 cars with another Mazda dealer and they told me to come in to talk about it. I built the car on Mazda.com and got inquiries from every dealer in the metro area. I told all of the dealers what I wanted. Danika responded with a quick response, a description of the car, a price and an offer to order it. Nobody else was so through we began talking, configuring the car adding options all via email and text. In the end I received the exact car I wanted, at a great price and came in and signed paperwork. That plus delivery took 90 minutes. Thanks to Danika and the rest of the Shortline team for getting me exactly what I wanted, my way. BTW I love the car. More

Because my 2010 Hyundai Accent was totaled in a car accident April 24, 2018, it was vehicle shopping for me. I wanted to upgrade to an SUV as I have driven little cars most my life and wanted something higher off the ground. I Googled cheapest SUV leases and a couple of them were the Mazda CX-3 and CX-5. I really liked those! Also, my sister has a Ford Escape and I have driven it before. So, I was thinking of leasing a Ford or Mazda. Because I already knew what the Ford Escape was like, but I was leaning more towards the Mazdas, I did my research on the best Mazda dealerships using DealerRater.com and found that Shortline Mazda in Aurora was the best rated dealership closest to me. Rone had several top notch reviews, so I called him on a Thurs night and made an appointment with him for that following Sat. He kept in touch with me via email/text up until I arrived Sat morning. He was GENUINELY excited to meet me. I told him what vehicles I wanted to look at and he had them parked and waiting for my arrival. He was knowledgeable about the vehicles and went over them with me. I pretty quickly decided to go with the CX-5 as it was a little bigger. So, I test drove the CX-5 and it drove quieter and smoother than the Ford Escape and I was SOLD!!!! He went right to work with Jonathan in finance and they were able to get me into a spiffy new 2018 CX-5 lease. The actual financing (figuring out payments with down payment) only took about 20min or so and I was signing paper work; which was also PAINLESS!! Rone and Jonathan were efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, personable and made my car shopping a ONE STOP experience!! Also, I’ve read stories of prices changing, added warranties... etc. when signing the paperwork. However, my payment stayed the same. There were no gimmicks and they did me RIGHT. They were amazing!! Rone also kept in touch with me after my lease purchase to make sure I was happy and was VERY nice and respectful to my mom (who was with me at the time of my lease purchase) and was sure to include regards to her in correspondences thereafter.
