Just passing through As I finished up another visit to RMNP, my 2011 Hyundai Elantra was getting close to expiring the 2nd owner warranty of 60,000 miles. I've noticed a s As I finished up another visit to RMNP, my 2011 Hyundai Elantra was getting close to expiring the 2nd owner warranty of 60,000 miles. I've noticed a slight vibration at low idle at times, so before I headed back to Ohio, I'd have it checked out one last time. Grace handled my overall service time, introducing me to Rob, trying to figure out what may be going wrong, if anything. Just to make sure, she had Joey, I believe the Service Manager, go for a ride along to see if he noticed anything. He was aware of some consistent issues with low idles with my model and made sure the throttle body was cleaned up while informing me to use better gas in the future. By the time I arrived home, the rough low idle still exists, but not due to the fault of anything the service team at Shortline did. It was an amazing experience for someone simply passing through town. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. If I had more space, I could go on and on about with more details, but I really want them to know how much I appreciated being treated like a next-door neighbor. It made my departure from the beauty of Colorado that much sweeter. THANK YOU! More

New Car for my Daughter Well where do I start. We were interested in purchasing a vehicle and started looking online. My husband sent an email as a inquiry to a specific vehi Well where do I start. We were interested in purchasing a vehicle and started looking online. My husband sent an email as a inquiry to a specific vehicle and after 4 days NO ONE RESPONDED. That should've been a red flag to us. My daughter and I went to take a look at a vehicle a week prior to purchasing. We stood around for about 5 minutes and watched all the Sales Reps pass us by. We then went outside to the vehicle we were interested in and then finally asked if we need any help by one rep and he proceeded to go get James Edwards (only worked at Shortline for 4 days). Mr. Edwards came out and was friendly and showed us the model we were looking at and took us back inside to talk. I advised Mr. Edwards at that point we were just looking at trying to get a feel if our daughter liked the size of the vehicle as we were looking at other brands. What initially brought us to Hyundai was the warranty because we've always bought Honda. I advised Mr. Edwards that I need to bring my husband back so that he can test drive the car and we will make a decision. Mr. Edward provided me his card and we went on our way. The next week my husband and I went to the dealership to test drive and possible purchase the vehicle. We were satisfied with the way the car drove, and how Mr. Edwards explained EVERYTHING about the vehicle and decide to go ahead with the purchase. We had already got pre-approval through our credit union so all we need to do was go through the paperwork. Mr. Edwards advised the Sales Manager (don't know his name) of our pre-approval and interest rate. The Sales Manager told Mr. Edwards that Shortline could beat the interest rate. My first question to Mr. Edwards was, "WILL THIS AFFECT OUR CREDIT SCORE SINCE YOU ARE DOING INQUIRIES." Mr. Edwards stated, "No it will only affect if you are looking for several lenders." I specifically said, "I DO NOT WANT THIS TO AFFECT MY CREDIT SCORE." After hours of being at the dealership Shortline found a lender that would beat our interest rate with the credit union. We begin the paperwork with Finance and drove off the lot with the car. The next week we receive a credit alert that our credit score decreased because of many inquires (6) on the day we purchased the vehicle. I immediately contacted Mr. Edwards and advised of my disappointment. Mr. Edwards had the Sales Manager call me back and he advised that once we make our very first payment the inquires would drop off. I knew at that point we were dealing with a con man as my husband and I monitor our credit report and understand the inquires. They will not drop off for a year. At that point I really was disappointed an wished we would've purchased our vehicle from Honda. Let's fast forward a few weeks. While driving to school our daughter hit a pot hole which caused a flat tire. We took the tire off the car and took it to Hyundai service 09/11/15 to see if we can purchase a new tire. The Service lady told my husband that the rim was too bent and had to be replaced, and the price on the one rim was $400.00. Are you kidding me, a Hyundai Elantra and one 15" rim cost $400.00. We have a 2015 Full size vehicle with 20" rims and the price for one is $235.00. I told my husband to go back and pick up the rim and tire and we will go elsewhere. We did that and was told the rim was not too bent or unusable, so we just got a new tire on it. I do not trust Shortline Hyundai at all. If Mr. Edwards was at a different dealership I would definitely purchase another vehicle from him. He was PHENOMINAL!!!! Mr. Edwards if you ever leave Shortline please drop a line to let us know where you end up as we will be looking to purchase a SUV in the future and we really enjoyed doing business with you, however we will not do business with anyone else from Shortline dealership unless they can make a 180 and make it right. Since I can only rate the Sale, our experience with the Service Department was Poor, and I do not trust taking our car back there. More
