I'm taking a few moments to commend Fred W at Ralph Schomp Honda - even though we ended up buying a vehicle from another manufacturer. Fred was first class from the first time we entered the dealership. He asked good questions, seemed to genuninely care about our needs, and went above and beyond to get us information (and test drive a vehicle that wasn't on the main lot). We ended up buying a Ford Fiesta and not a Honda Fit, but Fred W was a great ambassador for Schomp and we would recommend him to anyone who wants a professional, low-pressure sales experience. Thank you, Fred. More
I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership six weeks ago. Due to the way I am compensated (commission based) it took about a week for Ron, finance manager, to get approval on my loan. During that week I ago. Due to the way I am compensated (commission based) it took about a week for Ron, finance manager, to get approval on my loan. During that week I provided multiple paystubs and explanations about my compensation at work. I also left Ron several messages that week and he did not return a single one. Finally, after a week of not knowing what was going on, he contacted me telling me my loan was approved at an APR I agreed with. I agreed to the terms and APR so I signed the contracts which stated the finance company name, APR and terms, gave them my $7000 down payment and purchased the vehicle (which they set up an appointment to do and said would take 45 minutes to complete. I waited in the showroom for 2 hours before sitting down to start the paperwork). Two weeks later I started receiving phone calls from the finance company and Ron asking for more explanation on my paystubs and tax documents (which I went through during that first week). I asked Ron why they needed these things since I had purchased the vehicle two weeks previous and the deal was done. He stated that they were just for verification. I sent him everything they asked for. A week later I received an email from Ron stating that the finance company decided to return the loan and not offer financing. He stated that he now has another company that will approve me at a much higher interest rate. I purchased this car under the previous terms and APR, and now that I have owned it for several weeks, paid insurance on it, registered it, had it in the shop for three days to have multiple repairs on it, Ron is saying I have to return it or do a much higher interest rate loan. It is a total bait and switch move. I have done research on this issue and it is called “yo-yo’ financing. It is what a dealership does to close a deal and then get a person to do a higher interest rate that they take several percentage points on to earn more money. I have had an absolute horrible experience with this company and especially with Ron Fifer. I am currently having my attorney deal with this and we are going to take it to arbitration. I absolutely do not recommend Ralph Schomp. They are sleazy liars with horrible customer service. I would give them negative stars if I could. More
I have purchased 2 cars from Ralph Schomp, the first in 1997 and now in 2009. Great service, low pressure and efficient. I purchased the second car online. I began the transaction on the weekend and pic 1997 and now in 2009. Great service, low pressure and efficient. I purchased the second car online. I began the transaction on the weekend and picked it up at the beginning of the week. I did not trade in m car. I donated it to Colorado Public Radio so I have no idea what the trade-in would have been. When I was looking the first time, I consulted a dealer in Lincoln, NE where I grew up. When found out I lived in Denver, the told me Ralph Schomp had the best prices and I would be foolish to look elsewhere. I didn't consider another dealer this time. Their reapir service is great but as with all dealerships, a little on the high side but it is done right. Cheap service that does not fix the problem is not good service. More
Arrogant pricing and attitude towards the price. Lowball trade values. They try the usual stealer tactic of diverting the truth and telling you how much they have in a car and it is all xx. I would not ev trade values. They try the usual stealer tactic of diverting the truth and telling you how much they have in a car and it is all xx. I would not ever buy a car from Ralph Schomp the crook dealer. Do your homework people and find another dealer. There are 17 Honda dealers within a two hundred mile radius of Denver, go elsewhere and not to the arrogant wont give an inch while opening your wallet and removing the contents d heads. More
Gary Taylor on the sales floor was one of the lowest pressure car sales people I've ever dealt with. Great experience. Phil Bayer was in charge of adding extras to our new Pilot, and he went way beyond the minimum and really bent over backwards to ensure our satisfaction. GREAT service. One caution, though. We were not told by sales or business office people that the chrome bumper trim we ordered would need special care in winters when magnesium chloride is used to melt icy roads (or else pit easily) until the work was complete. I would not have asked for this $600 add-on if I'd known that at the time of the sale rather than hearing it from the service provider. Be aware, and ask the business office personnel if there is anything you should be cautioned about regarding your special orders. More
If you do your own research, you'll do fine at any dealership. I found the salesperson to not know their vehicles very well, and often they would misquote or inaccurately represent items that you cou dealership. They were very friendly and helpful, but they sadly did not know their own product inside out. More
