This review is indicative of my interactions with Angelo Panella in the Sales department, not reflective of any other staff, or even the car I was interested in. TLDR: He is unprofessional, pressures you t Panella in the Sales department, not reflective of any other staff, or even the car I was interested in. TLDR: He is unprofessional, pressures you to leave deposit and finance with dealer, is evasive, and LIED about financing. Almost didn't come here, because of him. My first time talking to him was a few days ago when he called me after I submitted an interest form about the car. He was nice for a second until I started asking questions and his attitude changed quickly. He pressured me to put down a deposit before I'd even seen the car. He got angry when I asked if he could send me an email with an out the door total price for the car, saying "well you can write down what I'm saying" and I said No, I need something written for my records, to which he asked "why would you really need that? Why are you that concerned with the car?" giving me a hard time and interrogating me about it. It was like pulling teeth to get him to send me that email quote. The worst part was later when we talked briefly about financing, he insisted, absolutely INSISTED that if I used outside financing from my bank to purchase the car, I had to pay $2,400 more!! on the sales price. He pressured me about financing with the dealership because he said that's the only way to get the internet price and "I could just refinance in 6 months, no big deal". This was frustrating and confusing. Nowhere does it state on Sayville's website that this is their financing policy, but I believed him (I know some dealerships ARE run that way). So ultimately I had an appointment with him to see the car but I canceled it because of his pressuring tactics and attitude. I just didn't want to deal with his condescending attitude and I felt trapped by "having" to finance through the dealer to get a fair price. I did end up going to Sayville to see the car because another car deal fell through, but I asked to work with a different salesperson, who was very accommodating and professional, and I am now deciding on whether to buy the car. The kicker is that I found out that the $2400 "fee" for outside financing that Angelo insisted on was not true at all. He straight up LIED to me, just to pressure me to finance with the dealership. If I were managing this dealership I'd seriously consider whether he is the type of employee that you want representing you. More
