The car is only used for the summer months. It had not been started in several months. It would not start so we had it towed to the dealership for service. The fuel pumped was replaced and the mechanic sa been started in several months. It would not start so we had it towed to the dealership for service. The fuel pumped was replaced and the mechanic said it was very loud. He found water in the oil so he changed the oil which improved the noise but possibly has a bad head gasket. He flushed the system and put in an additive to hopefully seal the leak. The car is a 1999 so we did not want to replace the head gasket if possible. My wife says the car has a ticking noise that was not there the last time she drove the car but I suggested she drive the car for a while to see if it gets better as it has not been driven for quite some time. She will not be driving it until the weather improves so I am hopeful this is not a new problem. I am pleased with the mechanic for finding the origonal problem suggesting an alternative to replacing the head gasket. I understand this may not be a cure and the head gasket may need replacing in the future. More
