I purchased a demo model XT5. The sale itself went smoothly with Tommy, my second car that I purchased from him/Sarant. When I picked up my car it had a scratch on it that wasn't there when we signed smoothly with Tommy, my second car that I purchased from him/Sarant. When I picked up my car it had a scratch on it that wasn't there when we signed to purchase. This was not really a big deal, just had to come back again to take delivery. I purchased in April, when it wasn't yet very hot, so didn't realize that my AC didn't work. The fan worked great, just wasn't cold. A few weeks after purchase, I brought the car in to have it repaired. My compressor was dented and I needed a new one. I honestly don't see how I could have dented it. In either case, there was no way to prove whether it was dented before I purchased it or after I took possession. (There was approx 2800 miles on car when I picked it up). A knowledgeable car person said it looked like the car may have fallen off a truck, since there was NO damage to the bumper or grill, just under the car. Joe - the service manager said because he found a flower - yes a flower, and a piece of newspaper and a small piece of cardboard the size of my hand, that it was proof that I damaged the compressor. Even if I ran over the whole bush that the flower grew on, there is no way that it should have damaged the compressor to the point that it would dent and no longer work. Or is he stating that the quality control of Cadillac is that poor? The dealership agreed to deduct $500 off the cost of approx $1,600 to replace the compressor. This was not acceptable. It was their final offer, even though RIDICULOUS that the proof of my causing the damage was a flower and tiny pieces of newspaper and cardboard found in my grill. I had the compressor replaced elsewhere. More
