Dear Scott and Barbara Shelly Sands Chrysler Jeep Dodge participates on review sites as part of our commitment to high quality customer service. I appreciate you providing feed back, but I'm disappointed we let you down when inspecting your Jeep Liberty. I also appreciate you talking with Ray this afternoon. I understand you decided not to bring the car back for us to inspect it together. In this situation I would feel better if we (You, Ray our service manager, our inspection technician and myself) look at the brakes together so can verify the condition. We could do this at your convenience, we would make the visit as short as possible and I'm happy to give you a $20 WAWA gas gift card for your time. If you could give us this time in the next few days, you can respond to this message or call Ray at 215-536-0946. Thank you for your consideration. Thank you for the feedback. Thank you for being our customer. Jarod Sands

Dear Mr Sands. As I had indicated to Ray I am not interested in returning to have them reviewed. I really have no reason to pursue this any further. I know my review does not put your service department in a very good light, there is nothing in there that is not the truth. Perhaps had they asked me come in and see them when they called to tell me I needed new brakes and rotors, rather than after the fact, then it would be different. But the woman who called me to tell me I needed 900 dollars in repairs didn't seem to care if it was any kind of financial burden to me or my daughter. I hope you can understand why I wrote this review based on my perspective and experience I had. Scott Shelly

Scott Thank you for responding. I understand how you feel and appreciate you communicating with me. It is important to us that we get things right. I've found in the past, when we get everyone involved together and visually see the problem together, review each others concerns in person, we all end up feeling better at the end. It's always beneficial for us to better understand your concerns so we can better serve you. But like you said, we should have offered this while the car was here the first time. If you change your mind about coming in don't hesitate to let us know. As for the review, I'm happy we had a chance to discuss your concerns but I'd prefer the review wasn't there. If you decided to revise it or remove it I'd appreciate it. Thanks again for your time Jarod Sands

Scott After we considered this further, we would like to turn this over to a state inspection mediator.  They have a process that allows an investigator to mediate in situations like this where 2 inspections stations do not agree.  The fact that our Inspection Mechanic turned down your vehicle based on his opinion of State Inspection criteria is a concern for us as we would like to know whether his decision was appropriate or not. If he was correct the condition of your brakes is a real safety concern for me and  I don't feel you should have been told by another station that they are safe and problem free.  Furthermore, we feel we followed the state inspection rules properly and  as a result we are suffering a negative consequence by you posting your decision.  We understand you may feel it was more about us charging you $900 needlessly, but we feel it was a decision about safety and law, we were not trying to sell you something you didn’t need as in our opinion we followed the law. The mediation process would settle this as we would know who was right or wrong and we could all move forward knowing the facts and understanding the inspection criteria. Please take a few minutes to call me to discuss this further before we turn it over to the State mediator. I will be at our Ford dealership in Pottsville today and tomorrow: 570-622-1991 ext 36 Jarod Sands

Dear Jarod I appreciate the fact that you are trying to resolve this matter because of my negative review - however the fact is I d not have the time nor inclination to continue this. I have/had nothing to gain from posting my review except the facts. and the fact is when she told me it would NOT pass inspection because of bad brakes and rotors. Not hey "it will pass but we have safety concerns" thus giving me the option of deciding to put on new brakes and rotors. Another reason - she said "Severely Rusted" to the point that they could not be turned. How can any station I would take this to miss that? Also its my understanding that brake pad inspection is NOT subjected to opinion but specific measured tolerances not visual. So feel free to turn this over to whom ever, delete my review, reply to it, what ever, but as far as I'm concerned I stated my facts and Im done with this. Scott Shelly

We appreciate you choosing Sands Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram for your service needs and we are sorry that you are unhappy with your experience. As you know we are concerned about your daughters safety as we have made numerous attempts to follow up with you, and we would like the opportunity to review your brakes with you in person. Each time you have denied our request to review them with you, we even went as far as offering to bring in the Pa State Inspection officer to mediate our decision to fail the vehicle for inspection due to your brake issue. We are certain if you could see them for yourself and understand the state inspection guidelines, you would understand why they do not pass state inspection and are unsafe. We are very concerned that another inspection station did not follow the State Inspection Guidelines and you and others are at risk if an emergency braking situation would occur as the vehicle may not stop in time causing a serious accident. We understand you are unhappy with the result of the inspection, but we informed you of a safety issue with your brakes based on the law and safety to you and others. Our Pa. Licensed State Inspection technician compared the condition of your brakes with the Pa state guidelines and we are confident we followed the state inspection laws properly by failing the brakes for Inspection. I understand you’d prefer not to replace your brakes for inspection and avoid the expense, however this is a safety issue that you should definitely take seriously, don’t wait another year to have them replaced.

Thank you for such a quick response back , it was just very upsetting how the whole thing was handled . I do not want to cause problems whatsoever and I understand we have the car dealers worst nightmare on our hands but I came in very open with what we wanted to do and looked for options . We Only had one requirement the vehicle needed to be a truck. We left option open the options of new , used, trade in would be awesome but if we couldn't then we were open to seeing what deal could be made on any truck , Financed in my name , my husbands name or both names. Bob was nice but not at all ready to handle our situation or take time to actually focus on what we were telling him . He sat down at his desk and said I need to plug in a truck do you want new or used...what do you want? My answer was honestly what do you think the best option is and his response was I don't know. I know everyone needs to start somewhere as I'm thinking he is new but I made this very clear from my conversation on Thursday with someone on the Internet what are details were and how complicated it was and I was assured Bob was the right person . I'm not upset that the option that was given to us was 900.00 a month payment, I know we have terrible credit but we were only shown one option I truthfully do not know if it was my name , his name or ours. The other things was that are trade was so much less then a previous dealer and the reason why we didn't deal with them is because they were toyota and the truck has a MUCH higher price and next to no rebate right now. This afternoon is a bit crazy for me until about 5:00 I can try to give a call in between then a baseball tonight but I wanted to get back to you and email is easiest. The other things is We are currently dealing with a huge mistake from another dealership which has a loan in my husbands name that is not ours, this adds to his credit as well as showing a open loan that is not correct . We are working with a lawyer right now and all is in the legal process and have a letter stating that also. Again I thank you for getting back to me it just overall this morning was upsetting to see how things were handled and how very care free things were handled . I would like to not have to much passed to Bob as I am not comfortable with it but he was a bit out of place with some comments that were out of line and it seemed he was more about cracking jokes then worrying about are situation. Please feel free to email be back or I will try to call. I know this site doesn't allow emails given but my email is creativevisionz@ymail.com Brianne Gallagher

Matthew Just spoke with Santander who the incorrect loan was with they explained that if someone calls in it can be verified that the loan is no longer in Brian's name and to use the letter from the lawyer . I asked for a letter directly from them and they gave me a song and a dance and said I have to wait for a manager which I left a message for. I don't know of you want the attorneys letter or not.
