Chose San Diego Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to repair my vehicle. The interactions I had with Service Advisor Luis Perez has always been respectful and professional. Had the radiator, a/c condenser, power steering pump, and rack & pinion replaced under MaxCare warranty. About 2 weeks after the repair I went back to Luis Perez to check out a abnormal sound coming from the radiator every time upon cold start or the first start up of the day. In my POV, it sounds like a person blowing through a harmonica. He said the tech who checked it out claims it was a broken weld underneath the hood and that my vehicle is ok drive, I took their word(my mistake). Come 1 month after the initial repair, my vehicle had another major problem relating to the repair, the transmission cooler line popped out while driving on the freeway going home from work. My vehicle smoked pretty good; smoke was coming out from the hood area and also into the cabin through the A/C vents which was rather scary, unsure if there was a engine fire or not. Luckily it was just myself inside my vehicle and I didn't have my wife and infant baby with me! So had my vehicle towed into SD CDJR and it took about 1-1.5 weeks just to find out that a transmission cooler line popped out. The transmission cooler line was not properly secured during the initial repair, RED FLAG. During this third visit I was getting led up to my transmission needing to replaced. The transmission cooler line now "properly secured" and fluids topped off, my vehicle is supposedly good to go. My vehicle is STILL currently making the harmonica noise from the radiator area which is eye brow raising alarming. I don't feel 100% safe driving it around with my family in it. At this point, I may escalate the issue further with Jeep Cares and/or have another CDJR dealer in San Diego dealer take a look at it. I question the pride and quality of work performed by the technician(s) on my vehicle since the initial repair. More
I would leave zero stars if I had the ability. About a month ago I was notified about a required recall that could only be addressed through one dealership in San Diego. Since the recall had to do with the car's emissions and we needed to get the car smogged in order to get it registered we called to make the appointment as soon as possible. We dropped the car off the next week and picked it up the next day. When we got home the engine compartment and headlights were filling up with smoke and it smelled like burning rubber. We called for several days trying to get anyone to call us back to no avail. I finally called the appointment line and pleaded with the person to help, she sent an email out to the entire service department asking someone to call me. The next day a service mngr called back and said just drive the car for a few days and that it was impossible that the recall created the problems I referenced. We did and it was difficult to drive the car since the burning rubber smell was filling the driving compartment of the car. I tried to call back but again no one responded so I called the appointment line again and they said no one was there because they were all out sick and we should just drop off the car again. We did that and got a text the next day the car was ready. I asked for a call and a different service rep called back to tell me no additional service was needed since the recall was completed. I asked if the notes I provided at time of drop off were reviewed and he said they were not. When I asked if anyone looked at the car he said no. I asked why they did not look at the car and he said he did not even know why it was dropped off and I should speak with a mngr. For the next week we tried to call and no one called us back. I have called corporate and filed a claim but they are stating the only resolution is for me to pick up the car and drive it to another dealership 30 miles away to get the recall redone. I am at a loss for how poorly this has been handled. I even tried to contact the GSM to see if they could help and was told they were too busy and would try and call me at some point. Basically I dropped off a fully functioning car and they broke it and do not feel it is their responsibility to even look at the car to determine the issue. Stay away from this dealership, they have very poor customer service and an even worse service department. More
I liked my service guy but he was out the day they called me to pick up my car. They charged me $210 for diagnostics on my radio (it skips from channel to channel) but did not detail the results - much less me to pick up my car. Car towed in on 1/10/23. No phone calls returned, nobody answers phones. I left an angry message on 1/13, they finally called back saying they found the problem, but couldn't No phone calls returned, nobody answers phones. Drove to the dealership on 1/14, part found would order and install. called 1/17, 1/18, no call returned. 1/19 message that car was ready. Went to pick up car, dealership left the windows open, car was floating in water, guaranteed the car would be ready 1/20, went to pick up car, not ready. 1/21 disgusted as still not ready, took car and left. No apology, no discount, nothing to say. DO NOT GO HERE! Terrible Communication, they only care about the money! More
Went in for oil change, tire rotation, wiper fluid, warranty work and smog check. After 3 days, the only work completed was the warranty issues. I could not reach the service department directly for warranty work and smog check. After 3 days, the only work completed was the warranty issues. I urge you to not purchase your vehicle here! I purchased my car 10/4/22 and was issued temporary license plates which is now expired as of 1/2/23. I have been to DMV twice and they have explaine I purchased my car 10/4/22 and was issued temporary license plates which is now expired as of 1/2/23. I have been to DMV twice and they have explained to me that the dealership has paid the registration but has not submitted any paperwork leaving my status in pending. I have been into the dealership in person more times than anyone should after buying a car because phone calls are purposely hung up on, the finance line is disconnected, and promises to return calls are not made. The dealership told me if I get pulled over they can see registration is paid for, however I can not park my car on any public street or at my work which is city parking or I will get a ticket. I should not have to even deal with getting pulled over for expired plates because this dealership has not submitted my paperwork for over three months. The amount of stress and hassle, and the run around I get when trying to get an answer to this problem is something no one should have to deal with and my issue is still unresolved. My only option if the dealership will not further help is to file a complaint against them to the DMV per DMV advise, and to file a complaint with the BBB. More
From the moment I called the dealership and talked with Albert Robinson, I knew this was going to be good experience. We set up an appointment for 1pm on 12-30-22 to come in and look at the 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 4x4. When we got to the dealership, Albert was waiting and greeted us at the door. After some pleasantries, we got down to work. We pointed out our Jeep Liberty and he pulled the Trailhawk up behind it so we could get a perspective of size and color. After a test drive of it and the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe, we really liked both cars. But, at this time, we knew we couldn't afford the Grand Cherokee 4xe. We sat for a while and talked price and came to an agreement on the Cherokee Trailhawk 4x4. Albert was very thorough and explained everything. Next was meeting with Andrew Ptacek, the Finance Manager. He asked us about the extended warranty and we discussed why we did not choose to take it. He then made us an offer we couldn't refuse. So, we now have an extended warranty and a car that we enjoy. After we signed on the dotted lines, it was out to get our car. Albert went over all the details of the car with us and my wife was ready to hit the road. It was a pleasure to work with people who genuinely care about your needs. Albert and Andrew both get A+'s and/or 10's for making us feel as part of the San Diego Jeep family. When we are ready for our next car, we will definitely be looking them up. Santo was a extremely professional service representative. He went above and beyond to address all my vehicles concerns and the matter or warranty coverage. He did state he had to go the extra representative. He went above and beyond to address all my vehicles concerns and the matter or warranty coverage. He did state he had to go the extra effort to do the paperwork to warranty for my radiator. I had issues in the past but Santo is definately a gentleman that takes pride in his work. More
