Overcharged for service I was told my truck needed 8qts of oil. I said its a 3.5L ecoboost and it only needs 6qts. Guy at service told me no it needs 8qts and tried charging I was told my truck needed 8qts of oil. I said its a 3.5L ecoboost and it only needs 6qts. Guy at service told me no it needs 8qts and tried charging me extra. Come to find out my truck only takes 6.2 qts. He then lied to me and told me "the works" package only does oil change and tire rotation but it doesnt it covers a lot more. So i paid $29.95 for oil and $19.99 for a tire change. Thats the same price as the works package that i asked for but wasnt given because he said i wouldnt save any money without the coupon. Then i asked if my truck needed a pcu update he then told me he doesnt know he would have to plug into my truck to find out. So i figured that was the end of it. Come to find out little to my knowledge my truck needed an update and i was charged $125 for an update that i didnt want if it cost that much. When my truck was ready the same guy called me and lied to me again telling me he told me the price of the update and i said yes do it but at that cost i never would have. They are Having all kinds of problems with the Sync updates and issues with Sync that they are NOT fixing. Telling the customer thats too bad and cant help you. Service depts are being told to put up smoke screens and redirect the customers away from the issues. I made a complaint with Ford and they say all they can do is direct to back to the Service dept. This is not your Daddys FORD anymore folks. This dealership wasted a lot of my time and did not fix any of the issues and then told me they had. Also told me I was wrong on a couple things that they said were fine....wrong! Told me I would have to come back and go for ride with the technician to point out the issues that he had already looked at and said he corrected. ....long story but do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY CAR HERE, and DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE DEPT. More
THEY USED SUPERGLUE TO TRY AND FIX MY TRUCK My brand new truck came with two missing plastic covers on the interior. After three visits to place the covers on correctly, and three unsuccessful attempts, I discovered why the pieces were still loose. There were screws missing and I had to show the service tech where to place them. While showing him I asked what the "goop" was that I found on the plastic and was told that the piece was so loose he tried to superglue it. I wrote a two-page email to the dealership expressing my disappointment and concerns I had if they ever had to fix a more difficult piece, like an engine, and have yet to receive a response. It's been four weeks since I sent the email, so I sent my concern to Ford Corporate. I also drive around Salem in my brand new truck with a sign in my window that reads, "SALEM FORD FIXED MY TRUCK WITH SUPERGLUE - CAREFUL WHERE YOU SHOP". How can I say anything good about this place? More
Tried to use their service department The gentleman behind the service desk (sitting down all the time ) was rude and not very helpful. I felt like I was bothering him. I asked a couple of tough questions- is my car still under warranty, do you think you have the parts to fix problem? After he spent fifteen minutes on the computer he told me the warranty website was down. So I could sign the work order form for $200 plus dollars and if it is still under warranty it would be cover. Didn't feel too comfortable with that approach. Got home and contacted Auto Fair and within minutes they told me the car is still under warranty and they have the parts. By the way, there was a professional and pleasant person on the other end. I will never take my car there for service. More
Disgusted 20 year Customer !!!!! This is a true story that just happened to me at SALEM FORD HYUNDAI !! I had up until this point had a great relationship here..I am so disgusted with this place. Go right to the bottom for the quick synopsis !! On 4/1/13 I leased a Brand New 2013 f-150 XLT Crew Cab ecoboost from Salem Ford Hyundai. The truck was covered by The Standard FORD BUMPER TO BUMPER warranty. Well it had been snowing out heavily and the plows that were out had created quite a mess as I found out after trying to pull out of my friends driveway. I had just dropped off my friend and turned around in his large driveway and went to pull out when I got stuck in the mound of heavy snow at the end of the driveway that the plow had just left. So I do the same things that have got me out of every other stuck in snow situation for the past 28 years. I put the truck in 4x4 high and I just get a bunch of spinning there is a layer of ice under the snow so it wont make it over the hump and the Traction control is a joke and doesn't help. So I try rocking back and forth to get some movement and it eventually works Bang I'm out !!! So while rocking back and forth the 4x4 DRIVE SHAFT SNAPPED IN 2 ! So their amazing engineers claim it can't be a defect after only looking at pictures! They didn't even take the time to inspect it ! JOKE ENGINEERS ! WE LOOKED AT PICTURES TO MAKE THIS DETERMINATION ! INCOMPETENT TO SAY THE LEAST ! THAT IS IT FOLKS ! $$$ 750.00 $$$ THEY SAY WHAT I DID WAS CONSIDERED ABUSE !!!! YOUR BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THIS BECAUSE IT IS CONSIDERED ABUSE... REALLY ? YOU SOLD ME A TRUCK IN NEW ENGLAND NOT FLORIDA WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ? So that is it folks I am a 20 + year Customer at this SALEM FORD DEALERSHIP. I bought a 89 FORD TEMPO Bought a 1993 FORD EXPLORER . I leased a 2000 EXPEDITION XLT, I bought a 2000 FORD RANGER XL . I BOUGHT a USED 2002 CHEVY SILVERADO FROM THEM. I BOUGHT A USED FORD E350 VAN . Finally I Leased a Brand New 2013 f-150 XLT Crew Cab ecoboost and apparently this was the last vehicle I will ever purchase from SALEM FORD. So in closing I am going to do everything in my power to bring this to light. I will go out of my way to make sure the entire Merrimack Valley knows about this. ****BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY ON MY LEASED FORD AND THEY STUCK ME WITH $750.00 REPAIR BILL BECAUSE THEY SAY IT WAS ABUSE. Ridiculous ! !! Driving in New England can be considered ABUSE ???? Be very careful I believe this has to be one of the worst SCAMS I have ever seen. So much for customer loyalty !!! So I purchased 5 or 6 Vehicles over a 25 year period...How many would I have purchased over the next 25 years with my children getting their licenses in the next year or 2 ? Where would I buy from? CHEVY HERE I COME !!!! BTW after driving both the SILVERADO and the FORD F150 I can honestly say the CHEVY WAS SIMPLY AWESOME FOR THE 10 YEARS I DROVE IT!!
