We have researched several different gas efficient automobiles to include the VW Jetta, Mitsubishi Lancer, and the Ford Focus. We contacted several different dealerships with mixed results for call-b automobiles to include the VW Jetta, Mitsubishi Lancer, and the Ford Focus. We contacted several different dealerships with mixed results for call-backs. John Batt faithfully provided us with a call-back regarding one of our interest, Jettas. He was very helpful, patient and extremely knowledgeable, so we bought a 2011 Jetta SE from him on Jan 21st. Upon returning to work my husband was talking about our new purchase and found one of his co-workers, Major Whitlock, had also purchased a Jetta from John Batt. Both sales speak to John’s character and salesmen ship. We will recommend Bill Britt & more specifically John Batt. More
i brought in my vw jetta in early january 2010 for oil leak and was told that its $420 to fix it and its valve cover gasket that needs replacement. 5 days ltr after having the cover gasket cover replaced leak and was told that its $420 to fix it and its valve cover gasket that needs replacement. 5 days ltr after having the cover gasket cover replaced it the oil leak was stil there no less. so i brought it back and as told the car was misdiagnosed and its a bolt that needs replacement.this was replaced but i got no refunded of the difference since i paid for a valve cover gasket and it didnt need replacement.i checked the total cost of relacing this same bolt with another vw dealerhip and that dealership quoted $60.so i was flat out overcharged. now a month and a half later the beginning of march, the oil leak is still there.i brought it back to bill britt's dealrship and was told its something within the timing cover and its gonna be at least $1200 for labor to check that out.dring all these visits, bill britt's dealership promised they would call from day 1 to say when te car is ready or if they've found the problem or have to order the parts.these people never called once. not once. it was myself or my boyfriend that had to keep calling most times not getting through to them, leaving countless messages no one returning a call. we had to visit them 26 miles away to find out whats going on with the car. we were promised a loan a car by pam and when we went for the loan a car the next day jay anderson had no idea about it. After having had a couple of bad experiences with other Mazda dealers in the Northern Virginia area, Bill Britt Mazda(VW, Suzuki) was a pleasure to deal with. They were up front about their pricing (which Mazda dealers in the Northern Virginia area, Bill Britt Mazda(VW, Suzuki) was a pleasure to deal with. They were up front about their pricing (which was quite good) and didn't try to sneak in any gimmicks or pressure me into buying. The sales rep I worked with, Don, was great; he took the time to address my questions thoroughly, and was willing to stay way past closing to finish the deal. An unexpectedly smooth car-buying experience overall; I highly recommend this dealership! More
Most of Bill Britt VW is absolutely great. The sales men are funny, the grease xxxxxxx are nice and very well informed, and the little old man who drives you home while they repair your car is charming. How are funny, the grease xxxxxxx are nice and very well informed, and the little old man who drives you home while they repair your car is charming. However there are 2 people whom always give me problems: the lady who answers the phones and a larger, older man with glasses. I don’t know what it is, but the older fellow just seems to hate me for no reason and the lady will ARGUE with me over the phone with what I want done to my car. Lets start with the older man. Whenever I say that BBVW screwed something up, which is VERY RARE, he basically said, “No we didn’t”, continue to say something like “You said the same thing last time”, which I didn’t, and then each and every time I come in he’ll accuse me of saying things I never said! He’s also accused me of posting negative feedback on other websites, in which I never did either. So this is the first and only review of any dealership I’ve ever done. Please realize that I’m not the only customer who might say something negative about your service. If someone else notices something that goes wrong, they’ll say something about it too. One of his quotes sticks out in my mind is, “I thought you said you weren’t coming back.” This one sticks out the most, because I was half asleep that day and I stayed up all night before stressing out over personal matters, which, thankfully, turned out to be nothing. Anyway, I know what he said wasn’t something big, on top of that I don’t even know what I said back to him, but he’s very insulting with his passive aggressive crap. It was almost like the last straw when you think your day(s) can’t get any worse and that someone insinuates that you threatened to leave the services of a dealership that our family has loved for more then 3+ years. Also you DO NOT get up and follow someone out the door when they refuse to talk to you. Now the lady doesn’t know customer service. A few days before I could get the car into the shop again, at the previous appointment the mechanic stressed that I needed to get a tire replaced because he was worried about the threads inside the tire, or whatever you call them. With his long drawn out, very informative explanation, it basically boiled down to if I didn’t replace this particular tire soon it had the possibility of exploding on me while on the road. So I had to drop the car off because I had a busy week, my car went in the shop, I called in to see if it was done, and the lady wanted to make sure which tire I was having replaced. Now at the time I had a popped one in the trunk (nail; I-95) and I was planning on fixing it once I got it back home. I told her to replace the one the mechanic said to, she, and I quote, said, “It looks fine, why not have the other one replaced”. First off it doesn’t matter what it looks like, if the customer says paint it pink and light it on fire, do it. You do what the customer says. Secondly, the popped tire was in good enough shape that I could have had it REPAIRED for much much less. And last, but not least, she had me on the phone for more then 30 minutes INSISTING that they replace the tire. So I guess this is where I failed and caved. I’m sorry, but I don’t have the time or patience to waste on someone who’s going against specific orders given by the mechanic who is more then qualified to give advice. Other than those two people I would recommend BBVW to anyone who wants quality German cars. ********** *UPDATE* ********** I uped the score, because BBVW is a great service and the fact that they shouldn’t have to suffer a lower score because of those two.
