I must say that this was my first experience buying a car and from the time I walked in the dealership Mr. Hall assured me that the car buying process would not be stressful as I had anticipated. Being a new college grad , I was hesistant to make such a big purchase but Mr. Hall was a wonderful salesman that made the process easy for me to understand as well as being comfortable with my payments. I want to thank Mr. Hall for helping me with chosing the right car. I will return to Brown's again to buy my next car. Mr. Hall was defenitely not one of your typical salesman that hassles you. The Brown's dealership should be proud to have Mr. Hall as a great salesman!!! More
Awesome service, he made me feel like I was getting the best deal possible. He worked with me to pick out the coolest yet affordable car for my situation. I wasnt rushed to make my decision, and I was able to contact Colby at all time throughout the whole decision process. I will certainly be coming back to Colby Hall in the future when its time to buy cars for my wife and kids. attempted to purhase 2012 Passat TDI fully loaded--they took deposit 7-23 w delivery promised 9/1--as I was out of country then asked them to call 9-12 when back--on 9/16 I called to see if I could p/u car took deposit 7-23 w delivery promised 9/1--as I was out of country then asked them to call 9-12 when back--on 9/16 I called to see if I could p/u car--was told orig sales person no longer there--car not there either. Dave (salesmanager) came on and informed me they didn't know when car would arrive would have better idea next week then had the audacity to tell me bosses wife was waiting also or perhaps I needed help paying for the car (we pay cash for all our new vehicles) and he would help w finance. Also informed me that he would refund my deposit if I would like and that they had my credit card number written on the sales ticket at which time I informed him that all employees would be suspect if my credit card was compromised. When asked why no f/u he stated he was following up now--even tho it was I would had placed the call. 5 days later Greg called to inform that they still had no delivery date but late Oct to 1st of yr possible and went into a story about TDI not being made first and the color I ordered not being made yet. He then refunded my deposit and stated he would shred form with my credit card number. Would not recommend this dealer. Will find another dealer who can deliver a Passat TDI. More

I had a water issue with my GTI due to Irene and I just showed up at Brown's VW yesterday with no appointment. I have done my service in the past at West Broad VW (by my home) but these guys were closer to showed up at Brown's VW yesterday with no appointment. I have done my service in the past at West Broad VW (by my home) but these guys were closer today. They got me in and out quickly and then No Charged me for the repair!! Who does this anymore? From the General Manager to the Sales Staff to the Service Staff, they always make sure when I leave that everything is fully taken care of. "Drive Happy" is more then a motto to them, it is a commitment to 100% customer satisfaction. I have bought several new cars from several other dealers in the area, and thanks to the exceptional customer service and value I receive from them, I am a loyal customer for life! I would rather go to the dentist than deal with these guys. Sales staff needs remedial training on things like basic manners and customer service. I had to make multiple attempts to contact just to get a quote and then when I finally did get my salesman to respond I could not believe how he spoke to me. If you want/need VW sales and service, go to West Broad Volkswagen, they actually understand how to treat people with respect and professionalism. Brown's should be closed and run out of town More

I have been very pleased with all aspects of my service experience at Brown's Volkswagen. The staff is curteous, responsive to issues or questions and aims to make sure that I'm aware of all services rend experience at Brown's Volkswagen. When I leave the dealership I have no doubt that my car will perform as expected. I have had my Passat for 7 years and all services performed have been at this dealership and I have had no issues requiring a return or request for rework. I lived in Richmond for over four years after purchasing my 2005 Jetta from West Broad VW. After receiving horrific service from both West Broad and Brown's VW, I eventually had to drive to either Lynchbur my 2005 Jetta from West Broad VW. After receiving horrific service from both West Broad and Brown's VW, I eventually had to drive to either Lynchburg or Fredericksburg VW to have my car service. Experience at Brown's: I originally tried to purchase my 05 Jetta from Browns but the sales person overcharged me by a few thousand dollars. He claimed that he could not go down in price any further and that I would not be able to find the vehicle for the price that I wanted to pay. Well, I was able to purchase the car at West Broad for the price that I was willing to pay a few weeks thereafter. Since I lived on the Southside, I tried to have my car serviced at Brown's at least three times. On each occasion, the price that the dealership quoted was well above the market and/or surrounding competitor's price. My service representative was very impatient and non-customer service friendly. The only section of Brown's that is commendable is their parts department, which worked with me on numerous occasions to get the needed parts for my vehicle. Experience at West Broad: The experience that I had at West Broad is even worst…which is why I only went back once after purchasing my vehicle. I took my car in for its initial check-up and had to have my radio looked at because it was not playing CDs (note: all of this was under warranty). West Broad charged me a diagnostic fee for checking my radio. I had to report this dealership to corporate office because their erroneous claim that my radio was not covered under warranty. Since that time, I have yet to return back to West Broad. Summary - I have not received good service at either West Board and/or Brown's on Midlothian. I would never recommend either dealership (or a VW because of the lack of quality and numerous problems that I have had with this car). More
