Non-Refundable Deposit not good enough.. I was in the market looking to purchase a brand new 2014 Dodge Durango RT. As a member of Penfed I was able to utilize their Auto Buying Program. Pen I was in the market looking to purchase a brand new 2014 Dodge Durango RT. As a member of Penfed I was able to utilize their Auto Buying Program. Penfed listed Safford, Farrish and Fair Oaks as participants of the program. I was contacted by Safford of Springfield Internet Sales Manager (Jeff Rodriguez) to inquire about my needs. He put me in touch with one of his sales representatives Francisco La Torre. Francisco was prompt in answering my questions and inquiry about what exactly I was looking for. I mentioned to him that they had a “Vehicle in Transit” I was interested in. The vehicle showed up at their Fredericksburg dealership on Friday. Since my wife was travelling out of state on Saturday Francisco had the vehicle driven up to Springfield for us to test drive on Saturday morning. We showed up early morning and met with Francisco. He was very informative and we took a test drive in the vehicle. Afterwards I sat down with Francisco to discuss numbers and close the deal. This is where things went south! We couldn’t agree on the pricing and I saw little effort from the dealership in trying to make a deal happen. Throughout the day I had several conversations with Francisco and I came up $1750 on my initial offer to make the deal happen strictly based on my wife stating she loved the car!! By the end of the day I was told that they would honor the “NEW” price if I bought the car the same day. I told them this would not be possible with my wife now on travel. I was willing to put down a $5,000 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit and come back the following weekend to buy the vehicle. Apparently the $5K NON-REFUNDABLE deposit was not good enough and they gave me the speech of how “People say they will come back and never do.” I totally felt disrespected as I was willing to put my money where my mouth was. It was unfortunate we couldn't get a deal done as my wife loved the car and Francisco had been great to work with. More
Great Salesman, Great Dealership, and Great Experience! We went car shopping on Easter weekend and were very lucky to get Sonny Thomas as our salesman. He helped make our buying experience an enjoyable one versus a intimidating one that we were worried it might be. He made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked onto the lot with his friendly disposition and he catered to our needs without putting pressure on us to buy. He let us know about options we may have never considered but we didn't feel pushed into anything. He knew the Jeep Lattitude/Limited inside and out and educated us about it with enthusiasm. He was funny and fun and intelligent. He was the whole kind of package you would want your salesman to be. We actually shopped around and test drove 2 other cars that same day that were from different auto manufacturers and none of the salesman from those dealerships could hold a candle to Sonny. There was no contest, period. Now, of course the salesman can make a difference in your choice of car by explaining the features well etc, but if a different automobile manufacturer offered a car type of better quality than the Jeep Cherokee Limited, we would have gone with that car no matter how great the salesman was. Even so, we REALLY wanted to give our business to Safford all because of Sonny and his knowledge of the product and his incredible salesmanship. To me, there is no better pairing than having a great salesman like Sonny AND a great automobile to offer, and you can bet in the future, we will be coming back to this dealership when considering another new car. I also want to make mention of the General Manager, Ron, who went out of his way to meet us. We found him to be very friendly and accomodating, as was the Customer Care Rep, Gerri, and our Financial Officer, Kyu Jo, who did a great job explaining our financing options and took the time to work his magic to get us the best rate. While I had ordered a new micro-van from Spain, it was not due to arrive for months. When the service department found serious problems that would have been too expensive to fix (for three months use), Sonny leapt into action and found a new Jeep Ltd. as a replacement. When it had logistical problems being delivered (from Pennsylvania) Sonny personally drove up with another driver, picked up the Jeep and both drove back the same day. So, Sonny is a hero for satisfying the wife (more difficult than it might seem) and keeping me on the road, with two new cars in as many days. Hope they're around when it's time to refill the keys again, in a few years. More

The staff is always interested in continuing the relationship from sale to purchase and beyond to the service area. Service is a very important part of our vocabulary. Safford has lived up to our standards in all areas. Personnel is professional and they all have a sense of humor and a desire to have happy clients. Mr. Sonny Thomas is our salesman. He did an excellent job of learning exactly what we wanted and he worked the process very well so as to come up with exactly what we wanted. Sonny kept us in the loop on availability and found the vehicles we desired. He even went out of his way to personally pick up the Jeep we chose in Pennsylvania when it was not available locally. Sonny wants his clients to be satisfied and happy with him as well as the cars and that is very integral to the purchase. We are well pleased with our new vehicles and we will be staying with Safford because their service is solid as well. We do recommend Safford to friends. More
Worth the trip I had my Jeep Commander towed last spring for what I thought was a major problem. The prices were fair, service professional and yet friendly. Harry was helpful and managed to get the work completed quickly so it did not feel as though I spend the entire day waiting in the service department. More

Not even sure where to begin other than to say that this was a horrible experience! The nightmare didn't start until after we drove our new vehicle home. First, there was the issue of them paying off the vehicle we traded, almost a month later, and the bank keep calling us for the money of the vehicle we traded in. We kept getting the run around with the dealership saying "let us see what's going on, call back on MONDAY" which took six more days. So after nearly a month of having the new vehicle, the old vehicle finally got paid. We had to sign papers no less than three times because they couldn't spell my husbands name the first time, and lost the second, next day air mail copy. By the time this is over my husband has temp tags on his new truck that are now expired and he cant drive because they didn't apply for the new tags until the paperwork was signed the third, and hopefully, final time. It was a huge waste of time! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE and avoid the runaround!! BUYER BEWARE. More
We purchased a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland from Safford on 12.17.11. On 11.26.13 with 10,249 miles on the vehicle we had to take it in for repair due to electrical problems with the air suspension Safford on 12.17.11. On 1.30.14 with 10,562 miles on the vehicle we had to take it in for repair due to electrical problems with the air suspension system. A Jeep dealer (not Safford) fixed the problem. On 3.12.14 with 10,662 miles on the vehicle we had to take it in for repair due to electrical problems with the air suspension system. A Jeep dealer (not Safford) will require a part that is nationally backordered for approximately 3-4 weeks to fix the problem, Until such time as the part comes in I can still drive the vehicle until the part "completely stops functioning" at which point I will have to stop driving the vehicle and wait for the part. While we understand that the vehicle has 10,662 miles on it we feel that it a vehicle that is under 2 years old (when the problem started) and with so few miles on it should NOT require repair every 150-250 miles. When we went to Safford to discuss the issue hoping they would be willing to make things right. However, after 2 hours of sitting there with a salesman we were offered $3,000 less than the kelly blue book trade-in value for the vehicle and basically no kind of deal on a new similarly equipped vehicle. So now we are left with a vehicle we paid over $40K for with under 11K miles on it that requires constant repairs! Why would anyone ever buy a car from these guys? More

I placed a call and Marcel handled my needs wonderfully with lots of genuine desire to assist with the deal I was requesting. I did not know the truck we were interested was in a different location, but Marcel had the truck transferred so when we arrived at the dealer, the truck did as well. We started the deal late Sunday and did not finish until just about 9pm. Kyu and Marcel worked their magic and we were able to get the truck we needed that night, even though it was well past closing. Thank you to your professional staff for going the extra mile to help out brand new customers to Safford Dodge. More
