We purchased a new 2012 Subaru Outback and had all service done there until the year 36,000 expired. Service price for routine maintenance was reasonable and the loaner cars were nice. We started using a local mechanic until we experienced transmission problems at about 65,000. I called Browns Subaru and was informed that the transmission warranty had been extended to 100,000 miles. They fixed the transmission at no cost to us. The car now has over 150,000 with no major issues. We will probably go back when we do is to get another Subaru. More

Recently, we were returning from a long roadtrip and the oil light lit up in our Outback. We were still about 60 miles from home and were anxious about pushing through to the end to go to our local dealers oil light lit up in our Outback. We were still about 60 miles from home and were anxious about pushing through to the end to go to our local dealership the next day. We googled for the nearest dealer to our location, which happened to be Safford Brown in Manassas, VA. Upon pulling onto the lot, we were greeted by one of the sales reps who happened to be outside. He was very friendly and directed us to their service department. As soon as we walked into the service department, we were greeted by Mr. Shay Phillips. He listened attentively to our situation and problem, assured us he could help, carefully explained the steps their maintenance guys would execute to determine if we had a simple problem with just needing an oil change, or a more serious problem with a leak. As Shay had indicated would be the case, the maintenance team got to us very quickly. Within 45 minutes, we had good news that all we needed was an oil change. Shay was very professional and caring. Rather than worrying that we'd be taken advantage of (as two older women away from home), we felt we were in good hands with Shay and his team. This experience speaks wonders for Safford Brown and renews our commitment to Subaru as our car of choice. BTW, if you are traveling far, especially on some dusty roads, get an oil change before leaving home and bring an extra quart of oil with you! More
We received an email telling us we needed a software update for our Starlink subscription. We called Meredith, our favorite service writer and she scheduled us for the same morning, but with the caveat update for our Starlink subscription. We called Meredith, our favorite service writer and she scheduled us for the same morning, but with the caveat that the update might take as much as 1.5 hours. She also noted that our car was not totally clean. The software update went perfectly, took an hour and a half, as promised. AND THE CAR WAS WASHED AND TOTALLY SPOTLESS, INSIDE AND OUT! We LOVE our Subaru (it is our 8 one going back to 1986 and this one has a LOT of safety upgrades which are also much appreciated. The EYESIGHT upgrades are especially welcome. Brown and now, Safford Brown Subaru always does a wonderful job, are very honest, do not try to upsell you on service, but will tell you if there are any issues that need addressing, in which case YOU decide what to do, and what and where to have it done. Although they would like to have the service done at the dealership, they are not pushy or demanding. If there were 11 stars, I would give them 12. They are the perfect dealership and the perfect service center. THEY CARE!!!!!!! More
