The dealership is nice, our experience buying the Kia was great. Loved our salesman, Leo, and our finance staff were great for the most part. I have two complaints about them that have ruined the overall experience. 1) We purchased a Kia maintenance package into our financing. We were told that it was good to use at any Kia dealership and it did not have to be used exclusively at this dealership. We clarified that with the finance person a few times before agreeing to buy it. We were then told that it could only be used at Safford Brown Kia. I live in West Virginia and the maintenance for a standard visit takes them 3 to 4 hours each time. So, it’s an all day venture for us just to get our Sportage serviced. 2) The service department is infuriating. 3 to 4 hours for a tire rotation/oil change/general maintenance check?! The final straw for us was our 3pm appointment the other week. I check in and find a comfortable spot to sit for the next 3 hours. It’s nearly 7pm and employees are leaving. The place is shutting down for the night. Finally, a maintenance supervisor came and asked if I was buying a car or waiting in service? I explained that I was waiting on my car. I was told that the supervisor that checked me in left at 5pm to catch a train. My car had been ready since 5:30. So an extra 90 minutes of my time was wasted. I was told a manager would call me to talk about everything to make it right. It’s been a week. No word from anyone that works there. We are officially done with the dealership. Leo is great, and the facility is nice. But the service department and the issue with the Kia maintenance plan just ruins the entire experience as a first time Kia owner. More
