I visited the Brown's Manassas Hyundai with an interest in trading in my old car and purchasing either a loaded Elantra or Sonata. At first my experience was positive however you cannot believe the price in trading in my old car and purchasing either a loaded Elantra or Sonata. At first my experience was positive however you cannot believe the price tags that are hanging from the rear view mirrors. The "Now" price does not reflect an "Apples to Apples" comparison to the "Was" price detailed on the MSRP sheet in the window. The "Was" price includes the $720 freight charge and the "Now" price does not, which means you can begin by adding $720 to "Now" price right to get a true comparison. On top of that, the "Now" price also reflects all incentives or rebates that could possibly be applied to a purchase. So you can get the vehicle for the only "Now" price plus $720 if you are an active military personnel AND a recent college graduate AND previously own a Hyundai. In my experience, after being in the dealership for about an hour and a half, I was quoted a price for the actual Sonata in the showroom. It was the only one they had in the color that I liked. The tag in the car listed the price as approximately $21,800. I was assuming that I would get a price at or below that price and still have the dealer fees of $720 (because I had already determined they were not included) and the $389 processing fee. However the salesman came back with a price about $2000 above the price hanging on the tag, and the fees would still need to be added. To conclude the price quoted was not actually a bad price on the vehicle if compared to Kelly Blue Book or Edmunds.com. But I left the dealership with a very bad taste in my mouth due to what I consider very deceptive marketing practices. I highly recommend confronting the salesman about the "real" price before going down the path of test driving a vehicle. Let the manager know that you find the marketing practices misleading and absurd. Update - One week later. After posting my initial review above, I received a response from the Brown's Hyundai manager. He "definitely wants to get to the bottom of this". He was interested in knowing what car I was interested in and stated that the was/now stickers hanging in the car provides the customer a "low pressure method of viewing the inventory". He did not address any other pricing information or answer any of the questions above outside of correcting the processing fee amount that I originally posted (I thought it was 379, not 389). I responded within a day with a series of questions regarding the misleading pricing practices that occur at Brown's Hyundai. I have now waited a week and still do not have any response on my subsequent questions. My current guess is that the manager assumes that I won't be buying a vehicle from his dealership and now is just hoping that I will simply go away. Obviously he "definitely does NOT want to get to the bottom of this." Otherwise he would have at least shown the respect to respond within a week. More

Every preconceived notion you have about dealing with car salesmen dismiss immediately when you walk into this dealership. They were wonderful. We came in the day after Christmas which was a Sunday and wer salesmen dismiss immediately when you walk into this dealership. They were wonderful. We came in the day after Christmas which was a Sunday and were instantly met by Brian Newman. We told him what we were looking for. It was bitter cold and my husband is handicapped, so Brian brought the vehicle inside the garage so we would not have to go out on the lot. My impatient husband (he was missing the Redskin game) stated we wanted to buy a car, let's not haggle get to the bottom line fast so we can get out of here. And, that is exactly what Brian did. Within 60 minutes the paperwork was done. We then met with finance which went so quickly. Brian went over the entire vehicle with me before I drove out and as I was leaving the sales manager, Bryan Meridieth came out and thanked me for my business. It was effortless. Not only does Hyundai have a great auto but the Brown's staff is so professional that is a pleasure to do business with them! More
Mr. Mallory was patient, polite, thorough, and a pleasure to deal with even while juggling two of us shopping. The next day I came back and made an offer. Mr. Meridieth made the business discussion so stre to deal with even while juggling two of us shopping. The next day I came back and made an offer. Mr. Meridieth made the business discussion so stress free and easy that I am actually still amazed! To my delight, I purchased a vehicle I absolutely love at a price I am comfortable with. I was given a tour of the service department and the vehicle itself. At the end of the day, driving off their lot, I was comfortable with my new vehicle, the dealership and their service department. The best car shopping and buying experience that I have had. This was accomplished because of their respect and team effort. You have a customer for life, thank you! More

On every issue Mr. Weech was simply outstanding... informative, responsive, flexible, cordial and effective. He showed the kind of intelligent restraint that avoided any aggressive sales pitch, but h informative, responsive, flexible, cordial and effective. He showed the kind of intelligent restraint that avoided any aggressive sales pitch, but he was prompt in following up my queries and thorough in preparing me to operate the new vehicle. In short he was a model sales person with a product that is so outstanding that, if allowed to do so, it sells itself. Also, when the computer system went down during final paper work, Sarah showed thoughtfulness in arranging for a tired wife with some medical problems to leave for lunch. Sarah then did exactly what she promised and mailed some of the final papers as soon as they could be printed. I have been driving for more than half a century and have owned dozens of automobiles. I never had a better experience, so my compliments to Anthony and colleagues. alton frye More
