I bought my Santa Fe in Richmond and I'm new to the area so I took it here. After the inspection I needed 2 new tires and an alignment for $500. That seemed high, but I let them go with it. They did all so I took it here. After the inspection I needed 2 new tires and an alignment for $500. That seemed high, but I let them go with it. They did all the work and then sprung another $100 on me at the end for a cabmer kit for one side in the front. I drove my car away with its new $600 set of 2 tires with a crooked steering wheel. The catch 22 is that I dont trust them to work on it more so I'm probably in for another $100 to get someone else to fix the crooked steering wheel. Dealing with these folks gave me a stomach ache. I utilized USAA certified Car buying program; I picked the car the options and quickly received Several Quotes from several dealers. Fairfax had the best price 1500.00 cheaper then Southern VA and NC deal the car the options and quickly received Several Quotes from several dealers. Fairfax had the best price 1500.00 cheaper then Southern VA and NC dealerships and where extremely professional. The deal was honored with no added pressure, the car was clean and ready when I arrived. I talked to Ms. Kristen Glenn and explained I’d be Traveling from North Carolina and I was concerned about the dealership wasting my time. She guaranteed me that my time would not be wasted. I was also concerned about the Tax and registration of the vehicle since I live in NC. The dealership added the price of insurance (I provided the tax estimate) to the loan amount, and a few weeks later the dealership sent me the title and tax check in order for me to have vehicle registered and titled in NC. Coming with an approved Loan and certified deal via USAA took the hassle out of negotiation with dealer over best price. Car is beautiful, received full tank of gas and we are very happy about the entire experience. I will note High Volume dealership and they were very busy. Certainly pre-mission planning on ones part will make the experience more enjoyable. More
Not bad, not bad at all... The hardest part for a buyer is to bring the sticker price to the lowest point. I had no difficulties with these guys - got a car at only about $200 above the invoice price. Us is to bring the sticker price to the lowest point. I had no difficulties with these guys - got a car at only about $200 above the invoice price. Usually this part of buying a new car brings me to the point of headache (I dont' like haggling). There was minimum of such haggling of the price with this guy; I brought the sticker price to the lowest decent point rather effortlessly. Even though they tried to sell all those "extra features," I had no difficulties fending them off. Here is an odd thing: in the hall, they have a computer with access to internet. I went to the dealership without researching the invoice price of the car (I actually went just to see the cars with no firm desition to buy anything that day). Well, I went straight to the computer, found the invoice price on the internet, showed it to them, told them I'd buy the car that very day for no higher than the invoice price + $200. And they sold it to me, making no excessive or loud noise. Well, you probably already know that if you try this shtick with Toyota, you will be spending there the whole day just listening repeatedly to the phrase "Let me talk to my manager..." This guy Vincent was easy to deal with; your "no" means something to him, and that's very important. So far so good... Let's see how they fair on keeping their promises for a 7 years/100,000 miles warranty. More
My husband and I started the dreaded used car search about a week ago. We went from dealership to dealership. We're a young couple and people feel they can say wahtever they like. So, by the time we about a week ago. We went from dealership to dealership. We're a young couple and people feel they can say wahtever they like. So, by the time we reached fairfax hyundai we were beaten up pretty bad. From the start Steve Nolty was great! Very friendly - he did everything right! However, we were still skeptical. We remained skeptical all the way through - he said he would go to work for us on the price. we were thinking - yeah we've heard that one before. Usually it ends up with people telling us how foolish and young we are. We already knew the car we were looking at was out of our budget but, we let them go to it anyway. Steve and the manager new our limit and worked within it. We still thought the answer would be no. We were completly shocked when the manager came back to tell us they accepted our offer. My husband and I did not know what to do. You mean you're not going to try and get us to go outside of our budget? They said "no, whenever possible we want you to have the car you want and a price reasonable to you" we were ecstatic. This is just part of the story (not enough room for everything) but I would highly recomend Fairfax Hyundai and Steve Nolty any day. In fact I already have a list of friends who are in line for a vehicle I am ready to recomend. This has to be the friendliest and most professional used car dealership we had ever been to. We had a great experience. I felt like we received VIP treatment all the way through - even dealing with Laura in finance. What friendly caring people! More
