Best Buying Experience in 20 years Since 1995, I've purchased five (5) Honda's - new and used- from Honda dealerships in either VA or NJ. My experience at Brown's Arlington Honda was, without a doubt, the best! WHY? As a female buyer, this is the first time I received straight answers and an honest deal. Salesman Charles Smoke was not your typical salesperson. Although I knew exactly what I wanted, I still needed a couple of days to make my decision once I saw the vehicle. Thankfully, Mr. Smoke gave me that time. No harassing phone calls or high pressure sales tactics! I also appreciated the fact that he didn't play that "let me ask my sales manager" and "what would it take to make you buy today?" game. Furthermore, I never felt I was being held hostage. The time I spent at the dealership was strictly my own doing! I'd recommend Mr. Smoke (and finance personnel, Fred Opoku, and Andrew) to anyone - especially, first time buyers and those who despise the car buying experience! More

He made absolutely sure that I understood what I was buying eventhough he knew I was a multiple Honda owner. From start to finish Jose delivered a Full Service Experience. I had my 23 year old daughter with me to show her how to buy a car. Jose indulged me in that regard as did the sales manager and the finance manager Lorenzo Sanchez. Lorenzo was very accomodating and fair regarding the financing experience. They have really excellent, personalized service with expertise in what they are doing (never performed a service wrong), and good pricing/discounts. Recently I purchased a car at the dealership and the experience was the same -- no hard sales tactics, very very knowledgeable salespeople who took a lot of time with us after the purchase to train us on the use of the car and its features, and a very considerate sales process. I highly recommend them. More

They were very informative and honest during the whole process. We believe we received a good deal for our new Odyssey and we love the car. Joe was great even after the deal was closed. He followed up with us to make sure we were really taken care of. He checked with the CA DMV to see if we needed to return our plates (we traded in our CRV - we just moved to Arlington from California), he helped us determine the requirements to receive a Virginia license and he kept us up to date while the dealer was installing the seat protectors in our new vehicle. Joe went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. George was great as well. He worked with us to determine a price point that we were comfortable with and gave us a great deal!!! The whole time I didn't feel any pressure from him to close the deal and he was very cordial and professional throughout. We recommend Brown's Arlington Honda to everyone. More

I went first just to test drive the car and was there for a while discussing things even after I clearly stated I wasn't going to buy the car on that exact day. Mr. Thierry Tshikalu was my sales person from the test drive through the purchase a few days later. He provided me a great offer that was already below the True Car and I said I would get back to him in a few days after I consider my options. I then priced around and visited 6 different dealerships and no one could beat this price, some by a long shot. When I came back a week later, I made sure to get Thierry, who remembered me, and after discussing this and negotiating some, we worked out an incredible deal. A major thing I noticed, which is great, is that I never felt I was being Pressured to buy the car from them or that I felt uncomfortable , which is almost rare now-a-days at dealerships. No-Hassle experience. I have then been back twice to get an additional piece of equipment i ordered along with my license plates and he helped me right away and even just stayed around to answer a few questions I have, even after the sale was made two weeks ago. When I went there to ask some additional questions, he came right out, even when it was busy, and was talking with me for over 30 minutes and I didn't feel rushed by him ever. The dealership is great and they are a major part of the community it seems, but the staff is very friendly and I would highly recommend to buy a car from there, and be sure to request Thierry (Terry) Tshikalu. Do not buy a car from this dealership This review is long, but well worth a read. After trying several dealerships, and a prior successful visit to this particular dealer, I sent an email This review is long, but well worth a read. After trying several dealerships, and a prior successful visit to this particular dealer, I sent an email to a salesperson detailing an exact price, package and trade in details for my current vehicle. Both the salesperson and manager called shortly after to verbally confirm that there would be no problem with this deal. They had prior knowledge of my current vehicle from my last visit where they got both the pay off, and had one of their mechanics inspect it. The following Monday I went to the dealership, and they again inspected my vehicle and said the deal as I requested would work, but they needed to get my new vehicle from a different dealership. We agreed to meet the next night to finalize the purchase. The salesperson called me in the morning and explained the remote start I requested would not be ready; I expressed dissatisfaction as I had driven to work a 2nd day (I usually metro) and the salesperson said he would try and get the part from another dealership. For the remainder of the day , there was no response from anyone at the dealership As the end of the business approached, I received an email from a different employee to come in to get the my new car. At no point was I informed that both the salesperson and manager I had been dealing with were off that day. I was then taken in to meet with the financial person and noticed the deal had changed, and no longer included my current vehicle. He denied any knowledge of the previous deal, and again had my current vehicle inspected. This new appraisal changed the numbers, and the previous agreed upon deal was no longer available. At the end of the evening and after much frustration, I settled on the car for just under 2K higher than the previously agreed upon price, and did not receive the remote start for the vehicle. In addition, after I had signed the papers I was told by a different manager that I would have to wait at least an hour for my new vehicle to be ready. They had not gone to another dealership to retrieve my new car as we had agreed upon Monday night. Instead, they waited for a new shipment to arrive. I had actually been given the choice Monday night as to weather I wanted to wait for the new shipment, which would take longer, or get a car from a different location. Wanting to expedite the process, I chose the other location. I finally got my new car and left after 9:00 PM. After an already frustrating experience, the next day I was told by my insurance company that according to Maryland state law, I have to keep my old vehicle on my insurance until the tags are mailed to the DMV. When I contacted the dealership (as they had my old tags), not only did they have no knowledge of this law, but they were argumentative and unhelpful. They refused to mail my tags into the DMV, instead wanting me to come and pick them up myself. Ultimately we decided they would FedEx the tags directly to me. A word of caution, in the DC area there are several options as far as Honda dealerships go, I would advise choosing an alternative. More

Not only was he extremely knowledgable of the cars and friendly, Jose went above and beyond to ensure we saw all of the available options to choose the best car for us. His salesmanship is warm and inviting not pushy and overbearing. He even offered his cell phone number to call or text with any questions. We had a consistently positive experience with Lorenzo Sanchez as we worked through the financing. He did a fantastic job laying out all of the options. We were there until 11pm and never felt rushed. We would highly recommend the team at Brown's Arlington Honda if you are looking for a friendly and low stress car buying experience. Brad Gardner (sales) and Lorenzo Sanchez (finance) exceeded our expectations in regards to customer service. Every staff member (including the sales manager) that we encountered there was very friendly and responsive. Brown's was very competitive as far as matching and beating competitor pricing for a 2015 Honda Odyssey. They were patient with our decision making, answered all of our questions and concerns, and all with a friendly/ caring attitude. Out of all the Honda dealerships around the area (and we dealt with at least 4), they stood above them all-- in all aspects. Most of our initial negotiations were through email. They gave us a fair price for our trade-in vehicle and worked with us on getting the best financing available (they even beat the USAA financing that we had originally qualified for--which was a pleasant surprise). We will definitely start here the next time we are in the market for another vehicle. We hope that others get the same experience that we received. Thank you, Brown's Arlington Honda!! More
