Diagnosis was something wrong with the EGR valve plus a loose nut or bolt causing noise. EGR valve diagnosis probably from reading on board computer. Solution, to replace valve for $800 was absolutely ridi loose nut or bolt causing noise. EGR valve diagnosis probably from reading on board computer. Solution, to replace valve for $800 was absolutely ridiculous. Noise was EGR with carbon stuck in it vibrating. Solution should have been open EGR valve and clean it. About 15-20 minutes. Turns out, noise went away probably from carbon dislodged. Engine running well. More

The team was ultra flexible with scheduling a safety check (at the last minute) before I had to drive 5 hours to ME. They communicated to each other so when I arrived I quickly was able to drop the car check (at the last minute) before I had to drive 5 hours to ME. They called me when it was ready, I didn’t need to have a detailed record of service history or dictate what needed to be done. I was grateful for their judgment. It was such a relief! Then they gave me a detailed record of everything they checked and topped off all the fluids. They even gave my “baby” Outback a “sponge” bath. The Rye Subaru team IS love.
