After having $6000 worth of warranty service done to my engine, I get to the dealership and they say that had to also replace a coil pack which was somehow not covered by a bumper to bumper warranty. They didn’t notify of me of the issue and the non coverage until I was standing there ready to check out. I would have declined and repaired it myself for the cost they claimed it took to replace that simple component. Additionally, I asked them to check the coil pack FIRST before taking the engine completely apart which apparently they didn’t do… I paid the money after the service representative told me coil packs are not covered under the warranty, which I do not understand. As soon as I got home, the battery immediately dies. After further inspection the battery was providing low voltage which likely caused ALL the issues with the engine in the first place. I feel they took a very simple issue and turned it into a massive, expensive project. I was out of my vehicle for days and got stuck paying for stuff I feel should have been quickly diagnosed and remedied for much less than $6000…. I’m happy to pay to replace a bad battery but the rest of this, and the way it all happened, makes me feel the dealership was just trying to make money from the service department due to low volume of vehicle sales/vehicle shortage overall. Rusty Wallis Honda- Garland is always very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. Seem to always service my car very well. I bought my Honda car there from Kenneth Boyd.
