This was the worst experience I have had with This was the worst experience I have had with purchasing a vehicle, and this is one place I will never return back to. Before ever stepping foot in This was the worst experience I have had with purchasing a vehicle, and this is one place I will never return back to. Before ever stepping foot into the dealership, I had made it well-known to the salesman that I was looking for a vehicle that would pull my 2,500lbs (5,000lbs loaded) all steel horse trailer and had asked if the Pathfinder would since it showed to have a 6,000 lbs towing capacity. I was told that it would with no problems so I made an appt for the following day (on a Saturday). I test drove the car and again made it very clear what my intended purpose for it was and was again assured it would pull my trailer with no issues. I decided to trade in my still very reliable and excellent used condition 2013 Chevy Traverse for the 2020 Pathfinder because I was told that it was better to buy it new to eat up the negative equity in my car, etc. I got home and discovered the Pathfinder did not have a hitch on it, which I had assumed it had a hitch cover on it when I was at the dealership as many SUV's do. I immediately called my salesman and asked about it and was told that Nissan would charge me thousands to put one on, this was just a base model car, and it would only cost $125 out the door for U-Haul to install one for me. I took it straight to U-Haul and $350 later I had a hitch on my car. The next day, I backed my car up to my trailer and got everything hooked up and before the horses were ever even loaded, I could tell this was going to be an issue as the car was beginning to groan and sag under the weight of just my trailer alone to the point that I could not even get the 4x4 block of wood out from under the trailer jack. From there, I had to flip my receiver around and change the ball to give a couple more inches of height hoping this would resolve the issue. I then proceeded to load my horses and the Pathfinder completely bottomed out at the back end. There was no way this vehicle was going to safely haul a 5,000lbs load although I was assured multiple times it would before purchasing the vehicle. My husband was not able to be with me while I made the purchase, signed papers, etc., so the salesman was going to be coming to our house that Monday. When I received the text he was on his way, I asked for him to please call me. I explained to him the issue that the car would not pull the trailer and that I needed a different vehicle, that he was more than welcome to see the trailer loaded with the horses to see what it was doing, and that it was not designed for this purpose, and he said he would. That did not happen at all. He came down and insisted the papers had to be signed, and that they could not take the vehicle back since it had now been driven and was considered used (2 days). Come to find out a day later after we had both already signed the papers, our lender told us had my husband not signed the papers, the lender would have let us back out of the purchase because of a law known as implied warranty, they sold us a vehicle for an intended purpose and it did not uphold to that. Come to find out, the Pathfinder will only handle a tongue weight of 600lbs. which the salesman did not bother to look up and I would not have known until after purchasing the vehicle and discovering this information in the owner's manual on pg 10-21. My loaded trailer has a tongue weight of 750lbs, which is why the back end bottomed out. After a week of back and forth with the General Manager and others, the only agreement we could come to (and I was still completely out thousands of dollars) was they TRADED the 2020 Pathfinder back in although I tried to give it right back and get my car back and they refused was for a 2018 Titan because that was the only thing that would pull my trailer. I was charged doc fees, gap, taxes, etc, TWICE. So, essentially because of their complete lack of knowledge of their own vehicles, I paid dearly, TWICE, for the price to be able to have a vehicle to pull a trailer to get my daughter to her horse shows. Well played Rusty Wallace, well played. More

Called Nissan headquarters and they said Rusty Wallace wa Refused to replace a defective tire another authorized dealer put on our Nissan a week ago. Called Nissan headquarters and they said Rusty Wallace was a liar. Investigation opened. Can't believe they would sacrifice a new car sale over something so easy to resolve. Guess they don't grasp the concept of customer goodwill. More
