In early July my Kia Sorento headlights went out when I passed over a bump. Turning the lights off and on achieved no results. Thankfully I was only 1/2 mile from home. The next day, I drove to your sho passed over a bump. Turning the lights off and on achieved no results. Thankfully I was only 1/2 mile from home. The next day, I drove to your shop to get the lights fixed. Met Jenna Mayes. Was informed I needed to make an appointment and did so. During the next several days, I drove the car testing out the headlights. When turned on, they would go out when passing over bumps and turn on all by themselves. Also, when switched to auto, the lights would turn on and off at their pleasure. - no rhyme or reason. Some bumps produced results, other did not. To me, it acted like a bad/loose connection. When I brought the car in on July 6, I explained the results of my limited trouble shooting. I waited while the car was worked on and was told the "multi function switch" was shorted out and needed to be replaced. No part in stock, needed to order. Ordered part at a cost of $274.36. Returned on July 19th and multi function switch replaced. Cost $422.00. Great, car is fixed, no more problems, or so I thought. Understand, Jenna and her team were very courteous at all times and a great waiting room, although at times not large enough. I did not even make it home before the lights started acting up again - exact same problem. Replacing the multi function switch did not fix the problem $696.63 spent and problem still exists. However, I was assured by your staff the multi function switch was bad and needed replacing. Made plans to leave the car at a later date. 26 July left the car for extensive trouble shooting. I again stated they needed to be looking for a bad/loose connection. This time Jenna explained she would bear the cost of trouble shooting until they found the problem. Thanks. This time the tech confirmed the relay in the integrated power module (IPM) was sticking causing an internal short and recommended replacing. However, nothing else that this IPM controlled had any problems that I could see. After discussion with Jenna, I paid for the part and she paid for the labor. My cost $773.73. Picked the car up on August 24th. Here we go again. Same problem. Have spent $1470.72. You have had the car for over 30 days and the problem still exists. Totally unsatisfactory! Drive back to the dealership. Make a new appointment with Jenna. 9:00 - 10:00 September 6. Arrive for my appointment at 10:00. Not on the schedule. You took the car anyway and I left with my wife. I was called that afternoon and told by car was ready. The technician rechecked the vehicle and confirmed the customer intermittent concern. The technician found "the wire chaffed to steering column" and made repair and confirmed operation is to factory specifications. My question. Why was this not found earlier. It wasn't until the technician drove the car and saw for himself the problem. Then he knew what to look for found the problem instead of just replacing parts. The only good thing coming out of this debacle is this last visit was no charge which leads me to believe you knew you erred. More
Service dept decided that the more expensive repair option was the way to go. $600 later problem still exists. Check engine light misfire code. $200 at Rock Auto and I replaced all 4 plug coils myself. option was the way to go. $600 later problem still exists.
