Finished way ahead of promised time. Danny was awesome and always responded quickly. Went from spending $35 to $850 and didn't even get mad! How is that possible? Great service helps. I went to get my oil changed today, and everyone was very courteous and friendly! Awful treatment My experience with Russ Darrow started well enough. I was interested in a CX-30. In doing some research with my brother, we saw that the Madison locat My experience with Russ Darrow started well enough. I was interested in a CX-30. In doing some research with my brother, we saw that the Madison location had more than 10 in the premium model I was interested in. He made an inquiry online with Paul who told him to call the next day when we were ready to come in for a test drive. We called the next day and talked with Jess, who let us know that Paul was away but to simply "ask for Jess" when we arrived at the dealership. Once there, a woman met us at the door (NEVER introducing herself). We let her know we had called Jess 20 minutes ago and were told to ask for her. She looked at us and said, "no one named Jess works here." We let her know we had been in contact with Paul and Jess had just told us to ask for her. This woman simply stared at us then said both work remotely. Pause. Awkward. She then motioned us over to her desk (again didn't introduce herself - I introduced myself then had to explicitly ask her for her name - Courtney). After a pleasant test drive, we began the negotiation process. Courtney came back with a high price for the car and a low trade-in offer (I had a written offer from Car Max for $13,600 on my vehicle. Russ Darrow offered just $12,000). My brother explained we had an offer from a dealer farther north for $1,500 less. Courtney proceeded to explain that the salesperson most likely offered an incentive I wasn't eligible for and that the offer wouldn't stand once I got to the other dealer. We calmly explained it was a strong offer and simply asked if they would match it. Courtney went to talk to her manager. She came back and then had the audacity to tell me that Russ Darrow doesn't do things like they used to in the "old days." "A person no longer needs to bring a man with her to negotiate. Russ Darrow simply gives the best price up front." I was really insulted. I can bring whoever I want with me to shop for a vehicle! The manager later came to talk to us directly (again NEVER once introduced himself - we later learned from Courtney that his name is John) who proceeded to explain that the CX-30 Russ Darrow had priced was different than the one we had received the other offer on. In fact, the CX-30 from the other dealership had MORE features than the one Russ Darrow was offering to me for $1,500 more. He also claimed that I could get zero percent financial OR a small discount off MSRP but not both. I am so grateful to Bergstrom Mazda in Appleton. They sold me the better CX-30 for $1,500 less than Russ Darrow Madison. They also made sure I received 0% financing. They never insulted me. They offered to deliver the car to me free of charge in Green Bay where I live. They were up front, respectful and professional. I can say none of those things about Russ Darrow Mazda Madison. I hope their GM reads this review and realizes that they need to work on their CUSTOMER service. More
I called Russ Darrow Mazda, Madison WI in July 2020 to inquire about a particular 2020 Mazda 3 they had in their inventory that I was interested in. Because I live out of state, I spoke to sales consultan inquire about a particular 2020 Mazda 3 they had in their inventory that I was interested in. Because I live out of state, I spoke to sales consultant, Courtney Riege and requested a quote, pricing and details on the particular Mazda 3. Finally after three calls to Courtney, she quoted over the phone a much higher lease payment than what was advertised on the Russ Darrow website and higher than the payment I had discussed with her originally. I never received a text or email quote though. I followed with a fourth call to Courtney’s sales manager Jeff Meadows to find out what was going on regarding their lack of response and courtesy to me as a future customer...same deal with Jeff...no real interest in helping me with an out of state car lease. Even though I have a Mazda trade in...I felt like the Russ Darrow Mazda dealership could care less about working with me as a new client, they had no interest in follow through and it appears like their in person clients or clients who can make them a lot of money are the only one’s that count at this dealership. I suggest you save yourself the hassle of working with the Russ Darrow Mazda, Madison WI dealership and go elsewhere for good service. More
