Found the problem and had it fixed in short order. Let me know of other issues to look at and plan for a good running vehicle. Let me know of other issues to look at and plan for a good running vehicle. More
Went to the dealership to look at a 14k used vehicle with the intent to trade my current vehicle (I bought it in Feb and owe about 23k on it, so I know I will have some negative equity) and was told not only the intent to trade my current vehicle (I bought it in Feb and owe about 23k on it, so I know I will have some negative equity) and was told not only did I need to give them my car that KBB trade values at 20k but I would also need to put down 7k in addition to that. WHAT!? They thought because I am a female I am an idiot and can't add and subtract. How does a 14k vehicle require 27k to purchase??? Took my current car and told them to take a hike. Now since letting them drive it my engine is making a weird noise. Thank God I still have an original and extended warranty. Ironically this is the same dealership that switched my "new" car in 2005 with a used car that had 500+ miles already on it. Never again with this scam dealership. More
The dealership had a $399 special so we went there. The special was per axle and didn't include replacement rotors if needed, and of course they were. So we shelled out the $1000+ for repairs and went The special was per axle and didn't include replacement rotors if needed, and of course they were. So we shelled out the $1000+ for repairs and went on out way with brakes that no longer made noise and made the car stop. Two days later were heading down to Stoughton when we heard a clunking sound from the rear end, when I came to the exit the brake pedal went down much further than usual but recovered on the second push and acted as it should. Once we parked we looked under the car and noticed something on the driver's side rear wheel was hanging down lower than on the other side. I moved the car to better location in the back of the parking lot and crawled under, as much as could and found a bolt that held the caliper assembly was missing and that was hitting the inside of the wheel rim. We stopped at a local shop which was just a couple blocks away where they fixed problem, the issue which was just a missing bolt. They surmised that the dealer had just finger tightened it and it had vibrated off in the (maybe) an hours driving time. We immediately drove to the dealer and went to the service desk and asked to see the service manager, who was of course in a meeting. I think they got off cheap. If we had gotten into any sort of accident they would have lost tens of thousands minimum and if there had been injuries or death(s) it could have been millions. They did not offer to check the other brakes. More
