OK sales experience, not too impressed with service dept I bought a new SUV here because they the vehicle and equipment I wanted in stock immediately, after a deal fell through at a different dealership. Th I bought a new SUV here because they the vehicle and equipment I wanted in stock immediately, after a deal fell through at a different dealership. The dealer responded instantly to my internet inquiry. When I arrived the next day to look at the truck, the sales guy was nice and pretty helpful and tried hard to do a good job. The negotiation process wasn't anything great, the usual old school car dealer nonsense back & forth with the salesman and sales manager writing numbers on paper "4 Square" that I had to sign each time, trying to confuse matters between the trade value and new car price. This is a very annoying sales tactic and I can't believe anyone still uses it. Eventually, I got an OK deal but nothing to jump up & down about. They later switched the trade and sale numbers around on the sales contract from what we agreed to, to make their deal look better on paper. The finance guy was mostly a waste of my time (and I was forced to pay $299 for his services) who tried to sell me warranties, service contracts, etc. on and on, finally gave up after a few tries. I have excellent credit and the Wells Fargo Dealer Services rate the Finance guy wrote up was way too high (4%), so I refinanced two days later with my local credit union at 33% lower interest. The finance guy then belittled my choice of using a credit union, tried to scare me by claiming the credit union (I've been with for 20 years) could suddenly go out of business and leaving me to pay the whole loan immediately. This the day before the big Wells Fargo fake-accounts story came out. Not impressed, a snake oil salesman. I had a warranty issue 2 days after buying the vehicle and it was a big hassle getting the repair approved by the dealer. It was a hassle to get my warranty repair done because I live 55 miles away and very busy at work. They let my claim sit for over 3 weeks before ordering parts, lack of communication at the dealer? Upon returning to the dealer for the repair, I was not impressed with the service department, it felt disorganized, confused, and not very professional in handling customers. The service facility is very cramped and outdated. They did provide a loaner vehicle, but there was massive confusion getting it and who would pay for it, which wasted 45 minutes. Overall, I see no reason for me to go out of my way to come back here next time I need a vehicle. I would not particularly recommend this dealership, especially if you are driving any distance. I have had better experiences at Green Bay and Appleton dealers. More
Up grade Being new to the area and the state of Wisconsin we were just looking for a bigger truck to pull our camper and found exactly what we wanted the only Being new to the area and the state of Wisconsin we were just looking for a bigger truck to pull our camper and found exactly what we wanted the only problem I had with them was the low ball offer on my trade my truck on kkb was 14,500 they offered me 8900 had to laugh at them stood my ground told them I'm not here to play numbers games ended up getting 14,000 but didn't like the 9% interest rate went to lunch to talk it over and before we sat down they called with a lot lower rate amazing when you hold your ground they must have known I wasn't going to take the truck More
Don't try to buy used here, they WILL try to rip you off!! Notice how all the good reviews are for Sales (new). If they succeed in selling you a used car, you've most definitely been had. I wasted my lunch h Notice how all the good reviews are for Sales (new). If they succeed in selling you a used car, you've most definitely been had. I wasted my lunch hour here today, and my time is not cheap. The first red flag was when the saleswoman tried to tell me that I'd get more for my car if I traded it in than if I sold it independently. I just bit my tongue and figured she must be new to the business, and let the charade go on. Then, even though they have a virtually identical car on their own lot (dead match in terms of mileage, just one model year newer...and "convertible"...a non-value feature on an 11 year old sebring in WISCONSIN lol) that they were asking $4500 for, they offered me $800 for my car which I bought 8 months ago for, you guessed it, $4500. Keep in mind that I'm also trying to trade UP to buy a used truck from them, which is valued at $4200 but they are asking $7000 for. I understand that they have to make money, so I went into this with a reasonable approach. KBB values my car at $2800, worst case scenario (rust considered). So I would have been happy with an offer of $2500, and willing to go as low as $2100, still considering that I also wanted to BUY A DIFFERENT VEHICLE from them. They came back with $800 (and comically held firm on it). But that's not the best part. When I called and asked for an explanation for the low price, I was told that I shouldn't be comparing to the Sebring Convertible because I wasn't being "honest and fair" and comparing apples to apples. Newsflash: You don't need any apples to know that $4500 >> $800, regardless of whether its a hard top or a convertible. But before I could find a polite way to say that, she changed the subject to the rust on my car. I would later measure this rust spot to be 9" long, and almost entirely on the underside of the car. A small bit is visible on the lower portion of the paint, maybe an inch or two wide, full 9" long. This saleswoman was so dishonest that she tried to convince me that it, and I quote, "ran the length of my car". Knee jerk reaction, I said "no it doesn't". But then when I realized I was arguing with someone about indisputable, visibly evident fact, it dawned on me that I was wasting my time. I told her to have a nice day and that was the end of it. Here's the funny part though: She never stopped to ask herself why a guy who claimed on multiple occasions to have outstanding credit and a great salary would be trying to buy a cheap old truck for $7k. It's because we're also potentially in the market for a brand NEW Pacifica for my wife, and I'm squaring away my finances to get that for her. I don't mind driving the cheap ol truck as long as it can carry our kayaks without having to strap them to the roof. I will not be buying that new Pacifica from Russ Darrow, or any other car from a Russ Darrow dealership, ever. I recommend that you take the same approach. More
sales person not informed. Felt very preasured. I was not even parked and I had a salesman hovering outside my car while I was on the phone waiting for me to get out. While on t Felt very preasured. I was not even parked and I had a salesman hovering outside my car while I was on the phone waiting for me to get out. While on the test drive sales person couldn't even tell me whether the vehicle was 4 wheel drive or not. This was not my first experience with Russ Darrow. Last experience was just as bad but I thought I would give them another try. Will not make that mistake again. I ended up buying a New car from van horn in Plymouth Wi. They where great. More
Horrible Experience!! Worst experience EVER!!!!!! Wish I could give it zero stars. Do NOT go to this dealer to purchase a car. They are all dirty liars! We were given an Worst experience EVER!!!!!! Wish I could give it zero stars. Do NOT go to this dealer to purchase a car. They are all dirty liars! We were given an offer that was $4,000 more than the advertised price, two days after we were told we would be paying the advertised price. After we brought this to their attention, then they came back with the advertised price and had us sign on this agreed upon price. After all of that, the sales manager told us the price was $1,500 more than the agreed upon price. When we askedwhy the price went up $1,500, the sales manager said that we did not qualify for all of the rebatees, after we had signed a paper that was $1,500 less. Long story short, don't waste your time. We are totally disgusted by this dealership! More
