Theo was a tremendous resource, after I learned my beloved Toyota Tundra was going to require a new transmission. I took my Tundra in for service and met Theo while I walked around the showroom. He beloved Toyota Tundra was going to require a new transmission. I took my Tundra in for service and met Theo while I walked around the showroom. He was understanding at the time that I was not interested in a new vehicle... a few hours later I went back to the sales department to speak with Theo as by this time I was truly in need of a new vehicle. He took the time to show me all the different options I wanted to see. We also ran finance options and I initially settled on a Camry. I choose a color with options not available at this dealer so they needed to do a trade through another dealer for what I was looking for. This took a couple of days so they provided me a free loaner (a Camry). Nothing against the Camry but I just came from a Tundra CrewMax so I decided I wanted to be higher up and into an SUV. I contacted Theo and told him and he stopped process on the dealer trade so I could see what they had available. We looked at a few Highlanders, again he was very gracious in spending time with me. I choose one I liked and ran the numbers and agreed to the finance terms. Chris was excellent and provided a clear understanding of the lease program (as this was the first lease I've done). It was an excellent experience at a dealer, the best of the 3 or 4 cars I've purchased from a dealer. More
Mr. Sonkin answered all of my questions even though I asked many of the questions multiple times. He seemed was knowledgeable, straightforward and helpful. He represents your dealership well. Excellent Service, would use again. Have never had an issue with the service department. They always deliver what is promised. It was refreshing to see that Toyota has upgraded the Camry to make it a strong competitor to the newer domestics (Kia and Hyundai) and the old domestics (Ford, GM). Rudy Luther represents this exciting Camry to make it a strong competitor to the newer domestics (Kia and Hyundai) and the old domestics (Ford, GM). Rudy Luther represents this exciting product line with professionalism and service. It's a different experience to buy from Rudy Luther, I'd recommend them to anyone. More
This was my first service visit to Rudy Luther Toyota in Wayzata, MN. I purchased a 2006 certified Sienna Limited there in March and it had a one year warranty. I had a problem develop where I could not r Wayzata, MN. I purchased a 2006 certified Sienna Limited there in March and it had a one year warranty. I had a problem develop where I could not raise the 3rd row seat (powered) and brought it there thinking there might be something simple to do that I didn't know about and that the manual didn't cover. There was nothing simple, so I made a service appointment. When I brought the van back for service, they provided a loaner car for me so I wouldn't have to wait there for an indeterminate period of time. This was covered under the warranty as well. When they discovered the repair would require ordering a part, the gave me a call and I brought the loaner back to get my van until the part came in. They said it would probably come in on a particular date, but to wait for them to phone me so I would be sure it was there. It did come in on that date, I got the call and repeated the process, getting another loaner to use for the day. They were able to repair it in one day, so I drove back and made the exchange again in the evening. I was very impressed with the courtesy everyone showed me, the knowledge of the service people and their eagerness to help me, answer any questions or be of service. The customer waiting area always has fresh coffee and cookies, newspapers and TV to make any stay there more enjoyable. It is a well designed facility with a large service area ( I counted 38 lifts ), so they can handle a lot of cars. Every customer's car gets a free wash apparently each time you bring it in--another example of taking the extra step. I am retired, so my time is more flexible, so getting there during the day (about 21 miles from my home) wasn't a hardship. Were I still working, I would be doing it in the evening and coming back the next evening, so the loaner cars they offer are a significant convenience. I have not been a fan of dealer service areas in the past due to some unfortunate deceptions I've encountered. But this is one place I would not hesitate to use again in the future. More
Valerie was wonderful! She helped me review the pros and cons between the Camry LE and SE models, plus the various non-standard options I was considering. She was extremely knowledgable and was no pressure. She provided me with various cost statements and encouraged me to think it over overnight if I needed to. So different from the old philosophy of not letting the customer leave the dealership without a deal. I was so satisfied that I brought my daughter in to Valerie; she traded in her Mazda for a 2008 RAV 4. More
My experience with Rudy Luther has been poor throughout. They failed to follow through on deliverables they had in connection with my car purchase. They not only failed to do so but their people tried to pretend like no deliverables were promised. I bought a certified used car from them. They claim they go over certified cars carefully through an inspection to make sure it meets certain standards. Either they aren't thorough or they failed to do so on this car. I had a warning light pop on not even 5 miles after I drove it off the lot. We also noticed they had twist ties and wire holding pieces of the undercarriage together - how can an inspection not catch this? The car also had less than the minimum tire tread and brake pad thickness required for certification. I ended up having to purchase new tires and brakes a few months later, which I would not have expected when buying a certified car. After that I've had a laundry list of items from the radio not working to serious engine issues that they haven't been able to fix in the 2 years I've had this car. They don't appear interested in making sure the issues are addressed and they've made no attempt to see that I'm satisified with my overall experience. I've noticed that even on routine maintenance visits they often fail to complete all of the service items I requested and the car is often not ready for pickup when they said it would be. I've had to explain these problems to so many employees there but I still get no improvement and no change in service. RL's only offer to address this is to buy the car back, but they'll pay less than what is left on the loan (and they financed it so they knew what that number is). I expected alot better in terms of quality and customer service from a Toyota dealer. I tried to resolve this with RL but they had no interest in doing so and they still haven't addressed the defect problems with the car. I don't like leaving a poor review, but felt compelled to share so those looking to invest in a car can take my experience into account. I could not purchase a vehicle from them again. More
