PLEASE AVOID THIS DEALER AT ALL COSTS IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!! Thanks to the neglect of the mechanics in the service department I almost not only lost my own life, but could have potentially hurt oth LIFE!!!!!!!! I had my oil changed by these bozo's last week as I was getting ready to leave for Tennessee. They are my go to mechanics in Bloomington. NEVER AGAIN. I had them also do an inspection on the car since I was about to travel 400 miles. The mechanic that did the inspection forgot to put the drivers side front wheel back on correctly. As I'm driving down 65 in Louisville at 70mph I hear a bunch of clicking in the front wheel area, a bunch of vibration, and then BOOM the entire wheel goes flying off and lands in the middle of the median(luckily there was catch fencing and not much traffic or you would have a mess). My SUV goes flying out of control off the shoulder. I'm left with thousands of dollars in repair(plus a $80 tow. at least they took us to a hotel which was nice of them as it was 5 miles away). When the wheel flew off it smacked the front fender and door, destroying both. It also destroyed the ball joint. So I had to get new wheel, new tire, new studs, joint, etc. It delayed the trip by 2 days(2 night hotel stay at $125/night), and I had to pay for it of it out of pocket. The place I took it too(who actually provided good service unlike Royal) rigged the door and fender enough so I could get to Tennessee and now I will have to get that fixed while I'm here. I called Royal, they wouldn't stand behind it. Even though I have paperwork showing what they did they said they never touched the tires. I talked to the manager of service and he, without using the exact word, called me a liar and said there is nothing he could do. He also tried saying I signed paperwork saying they weren't at fault if anything happens after I leave. I didn't sign anything at all EVER....uhhh forgery??. Needless to say, I will be getting a lawyer and filing a lawsuit against Royal. I'm glad to be here, it could have ended very badly. I'm just glad I was traveling at 6am, not 6pm, and for money's sake, Royal should be to or they would be out of business by tomorrow. This was where I took all 3 vehicles the last 3 years. I really did like them and they were always friendly. Of course, when I told them what happened, they weren't so friendly anymore. If they would have admitted to fault, and offered to even help with the repair costs, I would continue to go to them, but not now. More
Purchased a brand new Volvo in 2007. Returned in 2011 to consider buying a new Volvo. I wanted to purchase the new 2012 models which were still two weeks out from being available through the dealership. I m consider buying a new Volvo. I made it very clear that I was interested in purchasing a new 2012 convertible having test driven the 2011 model. I was assured that I would be contacted in a couple of weeks - as soon as the cars were available at the dealership. They never called me. Last week I once again stopped in for a test drive and asked the availability of a 2014 model. I was told it was difficult to obtain but the in-house expert on the car would "call me immediately - as soon as he returned from lunch" to tell me how long I would need to wait. No one called me back. Again. So, to recap, I would have been a repeat customer of this dealership for a relatively expensive sedan. I was ready to buy both times. Both times they blew me off. As an interesting side note, there wasn't one customer there besides me when I went in for this recent test drive. Fed up with the poor service I went to another dealership down the road and happily purchased my new car from their competition. More
I went to Royal looking for a used Volvo. The experience was pretty good through the test drive, I also wanted to have the car inspected and evaluated by my own mechanic and made arrangements to pick up the was pretty good through the test drive, I also wanted to have the car inspected and evaluated by my own mechanic and made arrangements to pick up the car late in the afternoon, drop the car off at my mechanic's place early the following morning, then return the car to Royal about 24hrs after I had picked it up. The car barely made it to my mechanic's shop, I would have noticed a huge pool of transmission fluid in my driveway had I looked at 5:30am. By the time I got the car to the shop, it was over-revving, slipping in and out of gear, and the car's message system was warning me, "Transmission Service Required". I had no choice but to leave it there, as I was not confident it could be driven back to Royal. I called the salesman at Royal as soon as they opened and described the problem. He told me, "Well, just bring it back here". I replied I wasn't sure it would make it back to the dealership and I wasn't going to accept the liability of trying to get it back. I gave the salesman the name, address and phone number of the shop where the car was. He acted put out that I was unable to bring the car back to him. Two hours later, the salesman called me, asking "where can I find my car? Where'd you leave it?" So I repeated the same information of the shop's name, phone number and address that I'd given him during our first phone call. NOT ONCE during either phone exchange with the salesman did he say anything resembling, "Wow, I'm really sorry this happened .... I apologize you had a bad experience", or anything like that. My shop called me to tell me that Royal had come and picked up the car (it had to be towed), but I never heard another word from the dealership. No communication of any kind. You can bet I'll never do business with Royal Volvo again. The complete lack of professionalism from their representative was staggering. More
The experience I recently had with Volvo was extremely pleasant. On Friday (4/12/2013), my door wasn't able to shut and I had to convince a coworker of mine to hold my door shut while I drove to Volvo to pleasant. I called them in a panic and immediately was able to get a technician to look at what the problem was and had the part ordered. They got me right in on Friday and set up an appointment to get my door fixed when the part would be in which was Tuesday (4/16/2013). It was a wonderful experience and they also washed my car which is nice and clean! I will be back for any other Volvo problems I encounter and wanted to personally thank the Volvo team for being so dedicated in helping customers like myself. More

Finding a tow truck willing to take me outside the County and 36 miles to Royal South Volvo in the midst of a blizzard was extremely fortunate. Cody, you are a great American! My experience with the Royal South Volvo Parts Manager and the Service Manager was incredible! They treated me like family and I really couldn't imagine a better overall experience. I found them both very helpful and wish to thank them both again. Another BIG thank you for Lou who was able to provide shuttle service to my family and I from the hotel and to a fine local dining restaurant. Lou could of not been a kinder gentleman to be a representative for any business. This man is a true gem! Finally, I wish to thank the Technician for his expertise in understanding the product and getting me back on the road quickly. Great job!!! It is rare to find such a team of dedicated professionals who know and respect the product as well as the Service Department team at Royal South. I had received an excellent hometown feeling from everyone I met and found Bloomington to be a beautiful town filled with wonderful people. I highly recommend Royal South Volvo in Bloomington Indiana. They are definitely worth the trip under any circumstance! More

I had a great experience at Royal South buying my new Mazda 3 iTouring. I can compare their service to both Hubler and Tom Wood, because I visited all 3 dealerships before deciding on the right model and Mazda 3 iTouring. I had recently received some car-buying advice to this effect, "If at any dealership you feel like you just can't wait to get away from the salesman, move on." That was exactly what happened at Hubler. Frankly, I don't think the salesman at Tom Wood was experienced enough to make the sale, because he didn't know much about the car. He was not pushy, though. Anyway, back to Royal South. I chose to spend my money here, because of the friendly service and the fact that I wasn't just a consumer - I was a valued customer. Rob Smith took great care of me from the beginning. We test drove the car using the GPS to see how it worked, because I was trying to decide if I wanted that option. He let me take the car where I wanted to take it instead of making me drive the usual test route. He never once pushed any upgrades or options on me that I didn't want. It was MY decision which car I wanted. Right car, right price, right dealership. If you want a calm, productive car-buying experience, go see Rob Smith at Royal South. More
I bought a Mazda3 from here and this dealership was absolutely wonderful to work with. We got the price out of the way quickly and easily and I was allowed to take the car home the same day, even thoug absolutely wonderful to work with. Everything went extremely smoothly and I felt like I was buying a car for me, not being pressured into a quick sale. I had shopped around for a new car for a while and though some other places were accommodating and personable, the atmosphere was all about getting me to buy their car, whatever it takes. There was absolutely no pressure felt from these guys at Royal South Mazda. I was also an unaccompanied female when I first went in and I did not feel taken advantage of or spoken down to in any way, shape or form from anyone. Mike was wonderful and kept us entertained while waiting for all of the paperwork to go through. The sales staff stayed late for us two nights, as we work until 6 and they close at 7. The service dept. had closed before we got there so Mike personally took the car back and washed and prepped it himself. Nothing but excellent customer service from here! At this time, I was also test driving a Mazda3 from Hubler Mazda in Greenwood, IN (an hour away from Bloomington) and Royal South even took care of getting their car back to them for me. (I decided to go through Royal South because I was a name and not a number to them, not to mention Royal gave me a better deal.) Geremy had let Hubler know their car was safe on the Royal South lot and it would get back to them shortly. The guys at Hubler were very upset that their deal fell through and harassed me for days, leaving nasty, threatening voicemails on my phone that I had to get their car back to them RIGHT NOW or else. Geremy was great with getting these guys off of my back and Rob Smith was available to speak with over the holiday (even though they were closed) and kept me calm in knowing that there is nothing these guys can do to me. I appreciate all of the help Royal South gave me in dealing with this terrible Hubler company. Buying a car is usually a pain and a hassle but buying from Royal South Volvo Mazda was quick, smooth, painless, and exciting. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a new car. Look for the name ROYAL every time you're in the market for a vehicle. You will not be disappointed! Also, there are free hand car washes every Saturday between 10 and 2 for the entire life of your Royal South bought vehicle, whatever the weather. More

Long story - but I recently bought a certified preowned vehicle from a not so kind dealership in Tennessee. I was concerned about the integrity of the staff and the vehicle I bought, so I contacted my local Mazda dealership(Royal South Mazda)for advice and consultation. The dealership sales manager was very helpful and put me in touch with Robert in the service department. Robert the service manager took my vehicle in for inspection and had his staff go over it with a fine tooth comb. They provided a personalized consultation with my husband and I after the inspection and recomended a minor repair. They also pulled a screw out of one of the tires thus avoiding a future flat tire. I was impressed with the knowledge and recomendations provided by the staff. After the minor repairs were performed on my car I felt more confident and at ease about my purchase. I am a long term customer at Royal (perviously bought from Royal South Toyota). Again, everyone at Royal Mazda was courteous and provided excellent customer service to our family.
