Poor Service - Did not Honor Quote - Overcharged I had been a customer of Royal Volvo for over 10 years. In total, I have bought 3 cars from there and always had them serviced at the dealership. Not I had been a customer of Royal Volvo for over 10 years. In total, I have bought 3 cars from there and always had them serviced at the dealership. Not any more. My daughter (20) brought her Volvo to get a quote for a scratch on the door. She talked to the service manager and got a verbal quote. Little did she and I know that the "service" department is different from the shop and that for "shop" services they will not honor verbal quotes. This is the standard procedure for the service department - and the process is the one I had used for years. She then brought the car for another services that required body shop work - this time, she got a written quote and they still charged her over $100 extra. We demanded a refund, it took a while but we finally got it. They were extremely rude, first to her and then to me. I asked that the GM call me and stated that unless he did, I would not be coming back. He never did. They lost a customer for ever - not just the dealership, but VOLVO as well. If I were Volvo, I would drop them as a dealership. Two months later, I bought a new car, a Mercedes M350, from Greg Melbo at Mercedes-Benz of Huntsville - best service ever. Sales Tax NOT Paid We live in Florida but we drove to Birmingham, Al to purchase a NEW VW EOS...it was financed through VW Credit and we were very happy...until it came We live in Florida but we drove to Birmingham, Al to purchase a NEW VW EOS...it was financed through VW Credit and we were very happy...until it came to getting registered and that's were it all fell apart...the contract shows that we put $1000 down which we did and they would pay the taxes of $1063...WHICH THEY DID NOT PAY...so we had to pay it out of our own pocket. Watch out you do not get scammed. More
Bought a new Jetta from Jerry Smith. When we drove off we never heard from Jerry again. We took the car for maintenance and warranty work until the car had 20,000 miles on it. Everytime it was a hassle: scheduling, length of time to do repairs, lack of parts, you name it. Once they even came to pick up the car and sent two teenagers, who brought the car back with a damaged front spoiler. It took many phone calls and a lot of hassle to get them to repair it. Funny, I thought you took a car to the dealership for service and repair not hassle & damage. Overall, Royal is a royal pain. They are a joke and almost ruined my impression of Volkswagen. More
