This dealership promises the moon, but does not deliver. They gave me an ultra low quote (below cost)and promised to order it and have the vehicle in 4 weeks or less. (They ordered the vehicle for me because the FWD version is supposedly "rare". They said they check dealers' inventory all over and no one had one so there were none to swap, so they said. After 6 weeks, I got so tired of waiting that I called another dealer in the area. I was shocked to learn that they had the exact vehicle I wanted, and it had been sitting there all the time. All Rte. 44 had to do was swap it. The dealer who I bought it from said that Rt44. Hyundai most likely low-balled me and kept me hanging forever until I would "break" and buy something more expensive. Sure enough, Rt.e 44 called me in early December and asked me why I didn't want the AWD (which happened to be $1200 more. Hmmmm) I can't say for sure that this was an orchestrated scheme, but it sure smelled like one. Of the 4-5 dealerships I visited, this one had the worst customer service. If you call the manager and leave a message for him to call you, don't expect a call back anytime soon! I waited at least a week and left several messages. No return call. It seemed that once they clinched the deal, they brushed you off as a nuisance. I am glad I did not buy from them. If they treat new customers like that, imaging how they are going to treat you after you buy one! I DO NOT recommend this place! P.S. I spoke with a "Tyler" a few times when he answered the phone. Very unprofessional. I wouldn't hire this guy to scoop fries. More

I am posting to help others with their buying experience. Not sure why some folks are having such poor experiences at any dealer, not just Rt. 44. I am suspecting some may not have done enough pre-work or research on price points, options, and the dealer as well. That can lead to confusion, mis-information about the true cost value of a given car, and then emotions set in. First, make sure you know the following. . Average fair market value of the car (retail purchase price range) . Average dealer invoice cost (what they really paid) . Average trade-in vs average private sale if you have a trade-in. You can find all of the above by researching in KBB, Edmunds, auto trader, and a host of other locations about used/new car values. Next, in fairness to all dealers, they have a new tactic now of adding to the MSRP, a new add-on called "adjusted market value". This typically adds between $2900 up to $3995, depending on which dealer you visit. Check that sticker, it will be very clear. However, that value is not to be used in your negotiations. Just discount it, because if you did your homework, you already know where you want to get to for a fair market value. Dealers need to make some profit, as they are a distributor and do have real costs for the building, overhead, etc. However, you do not need to be taken advantage of and be paying close to or woirse, higher than the MSRP (the factory sticker, not the "new adjusted one". If you did, you paid too much. Lastly, there is 1 final cost to check. All dealers are using a "document fee" as part of the final cost. You need to know that value is and ask them up front what it is. It will be on the sales agreement. Some dealers are charging crazy values for this. Some dealers as high as $495!!!! That is pure profit add-on. Rt. 44 based on my research, was below average in the state of MA for this fee at $288. To keep everyone honest, do not let them tell you this fee is required by law! It is NOT. It is a legal fee, but, not regulated by the state as confirmed by the governors office and consumer affairs. Now, you have your price targets. Be polite and make your offers from the bottom (invoice cost for dealer) and work up. Do not feel pressured or hurried. If you do not like the counter offers, walk, it is your right. Why engage more or make yourself more stressed. Think about it, if needed. We did all of the above, and had a professional and easy process in dealing with Eduardo. He knew, we knew, exactly where we wanted to be for a price point. No gimmicks, no games, done quickly. We purchased a brand new 2013 that day. I did not rate service or quality of work, as that was not part of the purchase experience. I will say, we are very pleased with doing business with Rt. 44 and will do so again, for our next purchase. Great facility and very clean just adds to the overall atmosphere. Long post with intent on educating, if not helping others with that perceived stress of buying a new car. Good Luck. More
Charles Mervilus was amazing to work with. He was extremely attentitive, and made the process of leasing my new Sonata seamless. He stayed late the night before Thanksgiving to make sure that I was ab extremely attentitive, and made the process of leasing my new Sonata seamless. He stayed late the night before Thanksgiving to make sure that I was able to take delivery of my vehicle that day and took the time to sit with me, set up bluetooth, explain all the features and functions of the vehicle until I felt comfortable leaving. I was so excited that I forgot to take the plates of my old vehicle home. Charles was nice enough to send me a message letting me know that I had to come pick them up... completely slipped my mind. I would highly recommed anyone looking for a new vehicle, to see Charles at Route 44 Hyundai. He will give you a great experience. More
Amazing how this dealership is either rated very good or very bad! Nothing in the middle. It must be that every time a bad rating comes in, someone that works there counters it with an excellent - most of very bad! Nothing in the middle. It must be that every time a bad rating comes in, someone that works there counters it with an excellent - most of whom I have had a call from in the last week. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP unless you want to be lied to, insulted, mentally beat up and on top of it all, held hostage because they won't give back your keys and registration. I have never met such unprofessional people in all my life! Like another review, I was assured by the internet person, Tom though - not Brett, that they had exactly the car I was searching for and we even talked price. When I got there, I was handed over to a salesman, Joe or Jose - don't know his last name because he never told me and never offered a card. He was incredulous at the price that the internet guy quoted and in addition, the car did not come with rear view camera but "they could ad one after-market in the mirror." Every time I got up to leave saying "thanks for your time but we are too far off. May I please have my keys?" the guy walked off (I assumed to get the keys) and came back with another proposal but when I still said no he started insulting me and telling me I should be thankful that I was already steeling the car and that I didn't want to pay for it, etc. Then he brought in "the Big Gun" and that was the last straw for me. I told this guy from the beginning that I was a no-nonsense kind of person, I had my bottom line and I knew he had his., If we could come together, let me know right off. I guess he didn't believe me. I finally did get my keys and registration back after the 4th time asking and when I stared complaining loudly that they held your keys hostage until you sign a contract. What a SLEAZY OPERATION and I would not do business there if they GAVE me the car!! I feel sorry for the people that get duped into buying there. Someone, usually a different person each time, called me a couple of times a day, every day and sometimes more since I walked out the door. Being in sales myself for 31 years, I felt I would at least call and thank the salesperson for his time and told him I might come back the next day with my son. He thought he had humg up his phone but the line was still open when I heard him say to his buddies there "Well, she just ruined my day. Says she may come back tomorrow and I thought I had gotten rid of her." That was the very last straw!! I think I will report these birds to the BBB. More
