Bottom line up front: DO NOT let Shamus sell you a car. Example 1 - shamus says "I will be your concierge with the service dept, if you need an oil change or anything call me and I will schedule for Example 1 - shamus says "I will be your concierge with the service dept, if you need an oil change or anything call me and I will schedule for you" REALITY: He doesn't and I need to call and schedule for myself. This is certainly not an issue but very misleading and then takes up more of my time finding out if Shamus did what he said he would. Example 2 - When I picked up my certified used car, it only had one key. Shamus said he would call me when the second key was in. REALITY: I had stopped by getting something fixed (see example 3) and asked Shamus if the key was in, Shamus found that the key had been in stock. I asked why he didn't call me like he said, his response was that the service dept is really in charge of that. Honestly I don't care who calls me but Shamus shouldn't be blaming someone else, take responsibility and be an adult! Unfortunately at this time I couldn't stay any longer to have the key programmed so I'd need to come back (see example 4 for more details) Example 3 - I bought a certified used Nissan Altima, do they do any kind of checking to see if things work or prep the car for pickup? I picked the car up 3 days after I left the downpayment and they knew when I was coming but the following happens - the car only has 1/4 tank of gas - the single key I had was showing a low battery - the windshield washer pump didn't work at all and I needed to come in for service within a week of buying the car. Example 4 - finally I had time with my schedule to come in and pick up my second key. Service dept asked if Shamus provided a paper showing they owe me the key. HE DID NOT. I'm now sitting in service waiting for Shamus to arrive and let service know that he failed to do his job properly so service dept can proceed and program the key. REMINDER: Never let Shamus OHalligan sell you a car. Almost forgot. The guy named Kyle. I had a trade in when I bought the car. Yes, the trade in was old and it had a lot of miles and I knew it wasn't worth a lot. Kyle told me they'd give me $250 for it and I was good with that. When I picked up the new car and dropped off the trade he told me they didn't want to take it and now they'd only give me $200 and I would be better off taking the car to a scrap yard. I pushed back because $200 trade in was easier for me because I don't have the ability to drive 2 cars at once and I wouldn't need to do anything with the old car. After adding my trade in, I ended up saving around $1K because my interest rate dropped and my payment went down as well. Also please note: the service dept is amazing. FOLLOW UP! Dropping my 2 star rating to 1 FYI - I wrote my review while I was at the Nissan dealer getting my second key. I was there with my mother who referred me to go to this Nissan Dealership, this dealership has a referral program and she stopped by to inquire about how long it would take to recieve the check in the mail, instead of addressing her question they asked 'why did your daughter give a bad review?' Since I was in the building I was able to address them in person, lucky me. Kyle informed me he didn't read the review and asked what the issue was. I was able to tell him I listed every issue point by point in the review. (Hey Kyle most people explain the issues in the review maybe you should read them) Kyle had an aggressive attitude toward me and kept telling me how he lost money on this deal (Hey Kyle if you read this, I don't care and I don't believe that) His aggressive approach in blaming me for not calling them right away when I noticed every issue was very unprofessional and off putting. I didn't really care at first about the gas so I didn't call because I still loved my car and didn't expect much else to go wrong. When I noticed the windshield washer pump didn't work I called right away to service to have it fixed. While explaining to kyle that I lost so much of my time sitting in the dealership getting everything fixed he rolled his eyes (Hey Kyle if you read this maybe don't roll your eyes at a customer it's not going to lead to a good review) At the end of the encounter I needed to remind him about my mother's initial question in regards to the referral. Kyle mentioned he didn't even start to work on it. (Also Shamus said the referral was $50 but they'd try to do $100) I doubt my mother will see that referral check but I'm open to letting them prove me wrong. Hey Performance Nissan here is a tip: when prepping a car check to see if the battery works in the key fob (or just give it with a new battery and give them both keys up front) also, check if there's gas in it. You'd think these things are standard practice. Final notes: if you give a bad review I like to also point out some good, so Performance Nissan take notes. Service departments always have long wait times I know, Sean and Joe are so friendly and explain everything clearly. They get 5 stars. Natalie in finance was amazing. She's the one who pointed out that I ended up saving almost $1K. She's friendly and really goes into detail about what I'm paying for. She's an asset to the dealership 5 stars. Kenny was in training when I stopped into the dealership to look for a car. Every time I saw him after that he remembered me and asked how the car is, I can tell he will give a great customer experience. He not only explained features on the car I was looking at but also features on my mother's car. He's easy to talk to and it doesn't seem like his giving me some BS. More
