Went to the dealership looking to buy a used Infiniti. Pete was great to deal with. Honest, straightforward, felt like he was working in our best interest from the time we walked into the showroom. Pete was great to deal with. Honest, straightforward, felt like he was working in our best interest from the time we walked into the showroom. There was an issue with the DMV website when we went to pick up the car after the sale, and Pete took it upon himself to deliver the car personally to our home the next day. Our home was 45 minutes away! I couldn't be happier with the service we received from him and would recommend him to anyone looking for a new or used car. More
Nice people, but watch out for hefty extra fees!I liked Nice people, but watch out for hefty extra fees! I liked the people I worked with at this dealership, especially Karl Baruch, our salesman. However Nice people, but watch out for hefty extra fees! I liked the people I worked with at this dealership, especially Karl Baruch, our salesman. However, I need to mention that the advertised prices for their vehicles on various Internet sites are “too good to be true” and do not include some rather hefty dealership charges that go far beyond your normal taxes, plates and licensing fees, especially if buying certified pre-owned. It was almost like, “Congratulations! What a great deal you are getting since this is a certified pre-owned car! Now, that will be $1900 extra for the CPO fee and over a thousand extra for another.” I did a little checking online (after already buying the car!) to see if it is an accepted practice to not include CPO fees in the advertised priced and found several quotes that indicate that such is not generally done and is usually frowned upon. The following quote is from an auto enthusiast's web page describes what happened. “A dealer does have to pay the manufacturer a fee to put the car through its certification process, but this should already be built into the price of the car as advertised. “Inspections” and “reconditioning” are part of doing business in selling used cars. Taking [sic] these fees on later is a common tactic amongst some car dealers so that they can advertise a price below market value and make up for it with an additional fee. In fact, if a car is being advertised as ‘certified’ and the dealer charges you a ‘certification fee’ or ‘inspection fee,’ they may be in violation of FTC regulations for advertising. It’s kind of like going to Burger King and ordering the Mega Bacon Whopper that is advertised for $4.99, and the cashier says the bacon is an extra 50 cents.” That’s exactly the tactic they used on me at Route 23 Nissan, so beware. I almost cancelled the deal because of the add-ons. However, with some juggling of numbers here (some I wonder about now, especially a $750 "rebate" on the "CPO fee" that was added and then taken away?) and a little break on some of the other extra fees there, I decided to go ahead buy, but before seeing information such as quoted above. I still hope that the deal was pretty good for that particular car. However, the bottom line is that I ending up paying much more than I was planning to on a car. Perhaps I shouldn’t have allowed it to happen. More
***BUYER BEWARE***BUYER BEWARE***BUYER BEWARE*** Went into this dealer in NEW JERSEY not BROOKLYN or QUEENS for a car priced at $19,900(fairly priced) .. after they tried to xxxx me for my car they came into this dealer in NEW JERSEY not BROOKLYN or QUEENS for a car priced at $19,900(fairly priced) .. after they tried to xxxx me for my car they came back with a sheet of paper with a $24,000 price tag. A CERTIFICATION $1895.00 and another $1700.00 for PREP FEES. Never in my life would I have ever expected this in NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK yes, NJ NO!! The salesman then says to me we CERTIFY THE CAR BUT WE CANT GIVE YOU A PIECE OF PAPER THATS ITS BEEN CERTIFIED-WHAT?????? For $1895.00 you have got to be kidding me. How does that come out of your mouth? FYI-YOU CAN'T certify a MERCEDES if you're not a Mercedes dealer!! The car was just taken in, filthy dirty(which was fine and understandable) and if I purchased the car and left that evening what can you possibly do inside of an hour or two or for an additional $4,000.00 of RIDICULOUS FEES. Look it over and run it through the wash? For $4,000.00!!!!!!!!!! You've been warned, this place will never make it in NJ, I'm now off to the BBB for this RIDICULOUS DEALER and turn them in for trying to certify cars that they CAN'T CERTIFY!!!!!!!!! I will post on every website known to man to WARN PEOPLE to stay away. Absolutely INFURIATED .. THEY SHOULD GIVE ME $500.00 FOR MY TIME. More
