I have been trying to look for a car for the past 3 or 4 weeks with no luck at all. Every dealership I went to or made in inquiry at was insufficient and I felt that no one genuinely wanted to help me find weeks with no luck at all. My sister had recommended me to this Honda dealership so I decided to give my car hunt one last try. Nate Daniels assisted me through the entire process. He was very informative with breaking down all of my options as well as really listening to my needs and preferences. I was very lost before this and he definitely steered me in the right direction. I did not feel pressured at all by him nor did he act as if I was wasting his time like some salesmen do. All in all, I had a great experience at this Honda dealership simply because of Nate's willingness to bend over backwards to get me the best deal possible. I can honestly say that I am 100% satisfied with the service I received as well as the new car I am now proud to be driving. Luis showed us the cars we were interested in-Fit, Cr-V and Element. He was patient and not pushy. He answered all our questions and worked hard to get us a deal. Ron was fantastic to work with. I have to start with saying that Mohammed is a GREAT guy, he helped me getting a great deal with my new Civic'12, he made sure i got everything that i needed. This is not a hate review. I have nothing against Honda or this particular dealer. I went, sat with them for 4 hours and didn't buy the car though I would've very much liked to, because he revealed a few u or this particular dealer. I went, sat with them for 4 hours and didn't buy the car though I would've very much liked to, because he revealed a few unknown and never before heard of charges (I can't remember exactly but it said something like 'Prep' and 'Millenium' that made no sense, and 'college discount' and 'repeat buyer discount') that raised the price by about $5000/-. I took an internet price tag on a Honda Accord which seemed comparable to the prices that NY dealers offer. As anyone naturally would, before you begin any discussion, the first thing you ask is if they are prepared to honor that price. And so I did. He gave me, what I would say was an 'enthusiastic maybe', that led me to believe they might actually do it. The test drive was no pleasant ride either. The car ran out of fuel after about a minute on the road. We pushed the car out of the highway and waited in the sun for an hour before fuel came. Back at the office, we waited another 40 minutes maybe before he came back for us. He did all calculations for tax, DMV, etc. and had me fill out paperwork for a loan and everything, never even once mentioning that that particular price is after a few discounts that I may not be eligible for. If the price assumes discounts that I am not eligible for, that's something I must be told upfront, not after 3 hours of dragging me around. So basically I wasted a whole afternoon, including an hour in the sun, to finally find out that he's not ready to honor his price. I wouldn't go back. More
The entire staff at Route 22 Honda in Hillside, NJ was awesome! Beginning with Mr Guiffre himself and his lovely and talented wife, Iris down to the Super Sales Rep Mr. Mohammed. This is the second car I bought from this dealer, My first experience was really good everyone was friendly and worked on getting me the best deal. I returned at the end of my lease (march 2011) to buy another car, I was able to get a new car and I thought everything was good to go. I was contacted the next day by the finance officer who closed the deal (adel) and he informed me that I needed to return to the dealer and resign my contract. I agreed and came back, I was under the impression that I was to pay 0 Down for the car and only the 500.00 for the motor vehicle fees (Which is all I payed at the time I bought the car) . When I returned to the dealer Adel explained that I was a preferred Honda Customer and that Honda would make my next car payment, So Im like okay I don’t pay anything until May 2011 he said yes, He asked if i had paid the car note yet i said I paid for the motor vehicle fees, do i still only pay the car not for May? I was told again yes, so I leave the dealer I then get a call from Honda a month later saying that the April car note needed to be paid and now I’m totally confused because what was the payment I signed for. I go to the dealer and they are trying to tell me it was for March. So apparently they were suppose get me to pay for the first payment at the time I took ownership of the lease and they didn’t so when I came back in to sign for the preferred customer they were slick and applied it to the down payment. Instead of trying to be underhanded about the money they should have explained to me what exactly the money was going to, and I could have made my April Payment on time. Especially when I asked repeatedly if I needed to make a payment for April and I was told no. They never have to worry about me buy another car from here or recommending them to anyone in the market for a Honda. On top of all that, My car is brand new and i have not even had it for a month and I have to take it in because the breaks are squeaking.. More
