The first dealer I have been too who is straight and forward with the way they do business. I gave them my numbers and they worked it out. No nonsense or playing games. Very professional and friendly. D forward with the way they do business. I gave them my numbers and they worked it out. No nonsense or playing games. Very professional and friendly. Did not waste a whole day haggling, straight and forward is all I can say. I"ve been to many other places through the years with all kinds of vehicle purchases. Never, Never did it go as smooth as this. I highly recommend !!!!! More
I went to return a lease. Never wanted another car. They fast talked & got me in a car with ZERO down. Then they never communicated the issues properly and continued to HARRASS me on a daily basis, threatening to reposess the car, etc., trying to get me to Hillside to take the car and abandon me 70 miles from my home with my 9 yr old daughter. They did take position of the car for over 2 wks and left me to have to rent a vehicle, only to give it back when they could and not have me able to get out of the deal any longer. They are liars, cheats, dishonest and I will continue to tell anyone that will listen that this dealership sucks. I called daily, no response. Not sure if they even have a legit phone system. They give all the salespeople your own phone number and make then put it in their own cell phone. They refused to give me the owner's name or let me contact him. They also send people to your home. Not very safe especially if you have a child. (I ended up finding Hackettstown Honda - GM Solomon Faizi) and found out how a true Honda dealership should run, with integrity, respect, customer loyalty, honesty, etc. EVERY employee, including their cleaning crew showed nothing but respect and concern. I am counting the days down to get out of this crappy Hillside Honda car so I can go forward at Hackettstown Honda and handle all future transactions. In the meanwhile, EVERYONE I know I will certainly send to the team at Hackettstown Honda. I sincerely look forward to working with them in the near future. Again, for your own personal safety, let alone your financial security, do NOT go to Rte 22 Honda i Hillside. If you have a problem securing a loan and thta's the only issue, I believe Brad Benson Hyundai has even better deals for you though I do not know about that 1st hand, only through advertisements. Recently purchased a used car there. The sales people were nice and courteous at first but after they made their sale, my experience became horrible. Everyone seems to get annoyed VERY quickly when you b were nice and courteous at first but after they made their sale, my experience became horrible. Everyone seems to get annoyed VERY quickly when you begin to ask questions. I was treated like an idiot most of my time there. And that's even if I got anyone's attention in the first place. I am ignored whenever I have the misfortune of going there. I was given a temporary license plate and was never called to pick up my actual ones until one day before the temps expiration. When I got there to see if they were in on the last day, they were there and sure enough they were "just about to call me". Didn't buy it. The place is a joke. Same thing happened at the service department. I was told a part needed to be ordered to properly fix the vehicle. They said they would call back. Guess when they called? That's right! Two days after my warranty expired. I'm still livid about this. I was also told they would not take my car for trade in despite their commercial saying you can "push pull or tow it in". I know that because I purchased a pre owned car that I am automatically a second class customer to these people but I would think they would even treat them with some sort of decency. Ive hated almost every minute of this place. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone in the future. Ever. More
I bought my car in the beginning of April I financed a 2010 Honda civic LX, which frankly I didn't get a good deal on. I noticed when I would parallel park my axel would make this popping and stretching s 2010 Honda civic LX, which frankly I didn't get a good deal on. I noticed when I would parallel park my axel would make this popping and stretching screeching sound. since the noise was low & i always have the music loud I didn't think nothing of it. I finally brought my car to get serviced plus i needed an oil change they said my car was good & i paid for my oil change. I didnt think nothing serious was wrong with my car because i figured they would have told me since they have "technicians" Weeks go by, & drive my friends car which is the same exact car & her car didn't make those sounds. I brought the car back to Honda service again they asked me what was wrong I told them about the noises & they stated leave the car we'll take a look. that day they advised me there was something wrong with ONLY my passenger axel. I leave Honda still noticing some sound but not as serve as it was prior to getting my passenger axel replaced. I took my car for a 2nd opinion & my REAL technician instructed me my axel was still messed up & not ONLY THAT my power steering pump needs to be changed, my rotoers were horrible, i had to replace my brake pads after 10,000 miles, my wheel needed to be aligned etc .. I called terrenace & paul from the service department & they really had the gaul to tell me WE CANT JUST GO REPLACING EVERYTHING JUST GIVING YOU PARTS, First of all that statement says it all they knew there were other existing problems to the car & they let me drive out of Honda with out a care god forbid there IS something servely wrong with the car & It causes me to have an accident or causes me to create an accident it's just malice how people could let another individual such as myself purchase a defective car & try to cover it up or find excuses. I find it disgusting how honda can put this on the floor & sell me a lemon im young trying to make a living and when I would be done paying for this car I would have invested a grand total of 23,000 I feel as though I was "got" because I am young. This whole establishment is shady I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE to purchase a car here in fact I tell everyone & anyone I wish I would have never financed this car this AT THIS DEALERSHIP it was the worst mistake I did. The sales rep even lied to my mom when she asked was the person who owned the car prior a smoker he said no but there are burn holes in the back seat. I work hard for my money & I paid 5,000 cash for a down payment & I feel that it went down the drain. I will make sure no one I know will ever purchase a car here. Have a great day. More
I recently went there to look at used car which was advertised on their website. The salesperson we dealt with was very absent and only showed up to have my mother sign a form. The reason given to sign advertised on their website. The salesperson we dealt with was very absent and only showed up to have my mother sign a form. The reason given to sign this form was to check the credit and b/c it's a used car. Ultimately, in the finance dept. we learned that due to having 2 existing car loans most major banks denied this loan we applied for and would get approved with another lender at a very high APR. No finance contract was signed at that time b/c we couldnt accept the finance terms. They would check on Monday with other banks to try to get a lower apr rate. Although a contract wasnt made, they advised to take the car home so my father can take a look at it. We questioned, why take the car if we don't know where we stand with the financial terms? Again, we were told don't worry take it home and on Monday come back to see if we can get a lower apr. At the point he even said "if you don't want the car, bring it back, and walk away, no conditions". On Monday, my mother decided to return the car. We were greeted by the same salesperson who had an agressive tone saying "that can't be done". "I get paid commission", which is irrevelant. They were able to lower her monthly pymt, but she was no longer interested in getting the car. She explained that she wants to pay one of the existing car loans, so she can get a new car and at that point her credit may be better. They told her she had to pay them $500 for taking the car home, which is absurd! They showed her the paper she signed and she felt cheated. Both the salesperson and financing employee failed to explain the terms. She was taken advantage off and is being slapped with this fee, even after telling them she didnt want to take the car on Saturday night, but was reassured there were no contingencies. From the absent salesperson, to failing to explain the terms of her taking the car, and the finance employee misinforming us, our experience was horrible. The fee should be waived for the miscommunication on their end. More
went to Route 22 Honda for a lease promotion. I was able to end my lease earlier at the same time. Jovan has been great. Easy to work with Straight forword. Phantom Inventory & Dishonesty The other reviewers Phantom Inventory & Dishonesty The other reviewers are completely spot on in their assessment of this chop shop. I would strongly advise against Phantom Inventory & Dishonesty The other reviewers are completely spot on in their assessment of this chop shop. I would strongly advise against any car purchase from Rt 22 Honda, Union NJ. I recently had a disappointing and unpleasant experience with blatantly dishonest and tacky bait & switch tactics. Through an online search of their inventory I found a car that fit my budget. I emailed them to confirm the availability of the car which they confirmed in a reply email. I then followed up with a phone call to set up an appointment for 90 minutes later. When I got to the dealership Vinny attempted to lamely explain that the car had been sold earlier in the day despite me just confirming its availability less than 90 minutes prior. He then proceeded to complete the bait & switch trick by offering other cars at a $5,000 higher price level. This whole operation is rotten. This is obviously a policy approach from management as multiple players are in cahoots (Vinny - sales, Chicole Hedgebeth - internet sales). They do NOT care about the customer. AVOID!! More

I walked into Route22Hoonda to check a pre-owned Honda Civic and within two hours landed with a deal for a 2010 Honda Civic at a great price. That was fast!! Only to hit on a surprise two days later. The Civic and within two hours landed with a deal for a 2010 Honda Civic at a great price. That was fast!! Only to hit on a surprise two days later. The sales guy called that the price had suddenly jacked up by $2000. They reasoned that some maintenance charges were not added at the time they had finalized the deal. I was about to drop it as I was on a hard-line budget and had other good offers on hand. But the Sales guy and his manager finally convinced me into buying the car at $800 higher than the final deal. They confessed the error but promised for a '6 Free oil changes' to compensate. Nothing mentioned on paper, but was assured that this was entered in the system. I trusted the verbal confirmation and walked away. Even recommended the dealership to few other colleagues at work. Only to discover four months later at the Service Center for my first service that no such thing as a 'free oil change' existed in the system for my car. After inquiring with the sales office now I wait for eternity to get a reply from Route 22 Honda sales team. A tip: Be sure you carry a dictaphone when you go to buy a car at Route22Honda. And keep the recorder on. They are great friends, but the deal, numbers and offers keep changing magically at a flick. More
