I was there to purchase a used car as a back up to my primary car. I arrived pre-qualified for financing through my bank. I was paired with Daniel, my salesperson (great guy)! I went to the dealership to avoid the antics and tricks of the smaller used car lots. I was met the EXACT same experience that I tried to avoid. Aaron is the typical used car salesman turned manager that comes with the warning signs of mistrust and he did not disappoint! I want to think that this is a systemic issue with the dealership but I can't be sure. Beware when dealing with him. The car I was interested in had some issues and Aaron actually wanted me to pay him to rectify the issues, not to mention he's asking for nearly the full book value. The most concerning issue is that whatever interest rate the bank is giving you Aaron added 1.75% on top of it. Example, the bank gave me 6% financing but Aaron told me 7.75%. Very shady! That equated to nearly $70 more per month to my payment. They assured me that this was legal. It may be legal but it's definitely immoral in my opinion. You would think that there's a difference from the smaller used car lots, but here at Rt 18 Jeep it's the same thing. They don't sell good used cars that you expect from a dealer. They simply sell cars.. No different from the local car lot on the corner. More
