After already having had a horrible experience here in 2009 when they wanted me to basically pay $41k for a car with an MSRP of $29k, I had them written off until I was researching a car on the Nissan USA 2009 when they wanted me to basically pay $41k for a car with an MSRP of $29k, I had them written off until I was researching a car on the Nissan USA site for my husband and they called me because of the area code I put in. I was hesitant to give them a 2nd chance but the Manager Michael Seitz assured me that things were different now and that he would give me an excellent deal (I'm sure they always say that). So, we go in the day before Thanksgiving and all seemed well. The first price we got (which was a monthly payment price, of course!) was higher than we wanted so we asked them to sharpen their pencils. They come back and give us their invoice price. We said we wanted to shop around and if we liked the price we'd be back. We went to another dealer (where I had previously purchased my Rogue without a headache) who said they would relunctantly match the price because they didn't want to lose the sale. We said we'd think about it...again, we wanted to make sure we couldn't do better. On Black Friday, we went back to Meadowlands because we felt Chris had worked with us long enough he deserved the sale. We were 1/2 way through the paperwork when we discovered that they had erroneously thought we lost a car in Sandy and when we said we had no idea what they were talking about, they said the price was based on us having a total loss from the hurricane. I didn't understand - we NEVER discussed losing a car. We told them we had a 10 year old car to possibly trade in. They even wrote down the trade in $$ on the paper with the final price on Wednesday and we discussed on Friday the option of giving them the $300 cash down payement instead of the trade in!! Plus, if we HAD lost a car in Sandy, Nissan was offering employee pricing - so there would have been no need to haggle. They should have just given us the VPP price off the bat. But, this was a con, IMHO. They probably figured if we were halfway through the paper work we wouldn't leave and just settle on a higher price. If they thought we were eligible for Sandy pricing, we would have walked in and gotten the employee price on the car immediately - so there is NO WAY that this was an accident. Their price that they first gave us was barely anything off the MSRP. It was a joke. NOTE: I don't believe that Chris was responsible for this. I liked him, I don't think he was sleazy. I believe this was all about finance and management. My husband saw I was ready to blow my top and even though at that point they said "we'll do it for that price because it was our mistake", I was done. No way was I giving them our money. And no way was I letting them think they had done me a favor. Also, we wanted an Altima S with a remote start - which is not standard. They had one but it was white and we didn't want white. They said they could put it in for $595!! HAHAH it's $325 on the Nissan USA site... please explain that to me!! Additionally, they claimed they looked for another "S" with remote start in the other 4 colors we liked and they couldn't find one for 100 miles. Um, we found one 15 miles away. PS - we got exactly the price we wanted from another dealership without any haggle and without having a total loss from the hurricane. I called them, they gave me a price over the phone that was spot on, I drove there 6 hours later and had a car without someone trying to pull a fast one on me. More
I shopped around and found that the Nissan Versa was the car that I wanted to purchase. I called the dealership late on Thursday and asked for the salesman or the manager. Neither were in that day. I tol car that I wanted to purchase. I called the dealership late on Thursday and asked for the salesman or the manager. Neither were in that day. I told the person on the phone that i would like to lock in on Versa. I was speaking with Christopher Kropa. He assured me that he could help me, took a deposit and ensured that the vehicle I wanted was mine. He called the next morning to tell me that Santiago wouldn't be handling my sale, but he would be. He took some of my prelimenary information. I mentioned that I didn't plan well, and wouldn't be able to pick up the car that night. He told me that he would drive it over for me and have his wife pick him up at my house. What unbelievable customer service!!! I'm in the CS business and know that he went way above and beyond for me. It was very nice. He also noticed that I was waiting a very long time to go thru the finance process. He got me and told me he asked that the manager process me. That initiative is impressive. You have an imazing employee there. If it weren't for him, I might have walked out during my four hours there purchasing a car. He was a refreshing normal person, in a sea of - shall iI say it - sleaze. Maybe some of the sales people should take a lesson from him.........less cheese and more normal. BTW, I love that their family car was also a Versa. More

We called 4 Nissan Dealerships in the Bergen County area and Maurice Waldo at the Meadowlands Nissan Dealer was the only sales rep to call me back immediately and tend to our requests. Admittedly, we made h and Maurice Waldo at the Meadowlands Nissan Dealer was the only sales rep to call me back immediately and tend to our requests. Admittedly, we made him jump through quite a few hoops answering questions, providing follow-up information and keeping us informed about every step of the car-buying process. Maurice is a true professional when it comes to taking care of his customers. We highly recommend Maurice Waldo and the Meadowlands Nissan Dealership. More
