My review is about the dealership, not the actual salesperson so I will not mention his name as he done decently well. I am motivated to purchase a new F350 limited (over 100k). Looked at Valley For salesperson so I will not mention his name as he done decently well. I am motivated to purchase a new F350 limited (over 100k). Looked at Valley Fords website and seen they had numerous styles and colors on their lot. Their website stated they were open on Saturday so we changed our schedules, packed up the family and drove over an hour to Valley Ford of Columbus. We were greeted promptly by an outgoing young salesman. When I told him our quest he stated he would go get keys but when he returned ten minutes later he informed us the F series trucks fell under the commercial department and he had no access to keys to open one up or take test drives. Mind you, this was NOT a plain white bare bones truck, it was Limited package with every bell and whistle. I did not go off on the young man but I did let him know how super disappointed we were given the distance we drove and felt it was a huge mistake on Valley Ford of Columbus to not have these luxury trucks available to view and drive. From there we went to Ricart and Coughlin, their commercial sales were also closed but all trucks were available to view and drive other than the true bare bones fleet style vehicles. I have been working with Bedell Corey on the possibility of buying a New Ford Edge. We came to agreeable terms so we submitted an online credit application. Got approved and spoke with Missy Meacham about e of buying a New Ford Edge. We came to agreeable terms so we submitted an online credit application. Got approved and spoke with Missy Meacham about everything. The rate was higher than I wanted to be and then when talking about extended warranties, service plans and gap I stated I didn’t want any of those in which she copped an attitude saying “we’ll just have to agree to disagree” which in every way shape and form is not respectful to a customer. After speaking more about it with the better half we decided to wait. When letting Bedell know she recommended the explorer because it has 3.9 for 72 month she also recommended the retired red loaner. Great we’ll do that. We are then approved. Go to do e-signing and looking at the first contract was 84 months and 5.9. No that’s not what we agreed upon. We didn’t sign. We then today 11/11/24 got the updated contract after reading it I noticed it had gap insurance on it. At no point did I speak to Missy about wanting this and previously on the Edge was adamant I didn’t want it. I reached out to Bedell and her response was “ You have to have the gap insurance and that’s the gap waiver from Ford. That’s how we got to that tier approval” this practice is completely illegal. And I let her know that. I then received this message “ OK, I just tried to call you to explain what she said to me it’s just much easier to talk it, but here we go…it was submitted with that to get the rate because of all of the minus equity but since we already have the approval for it, Ford can’t take back the approval, just learned something new, but if it was not submitted with that to begin with, it would not have been approved at that rate so she’s going to lunch as soon as she comes back she’ll redo the paperwork get it on over to you and you’ll be good to go. As soon as I get that back and you call in the down payment I can reach out to Drivers to see when they’re available to schedule everything with you.” So please read your contracts and know your Ohio More
