Transparent, Friendly, Fair, I will save space by skipping the horrendous experiences I have had at other dealerships when buying cars. I'll just say I cant believe the tactics so I will save space by skipping the horrendous experiences I have had at other dealerships when buying cars. I'll just say I cant believe the tactics some dealerships use. Rosen was completely different. I filled out the form on the website requesting instant pricing AND filled out the credit application. I did this on a Sunday when the dealership was closed. Monday morning I got a call from a Concierge asking me if I had received the information, and if I had any other questions. This call was NOT from a salesperson. There was absolutely no pressure. I told them I was looking for a firm 'out the door price' as well as what APR I would qualify for. She indicated she would get those questions answered and asked if it was okay to send that information via email or if i wanted to be called. I indicated email Again NO pressure, no sales pitch, no lures to get me into the dealership. I received an email a short time later from Rosen's internet sales manager Jon. The email contained a line for line breakout quoting all of the costs, and a final 'out the door' cost. I am happy to say that the out the door cost was almost dead center to what KBB and Truecar set my expectations to pay. Additionally, that price was within a few hundred dollars of what people were posting in the forums I belong to , having paid for the car. (Sometimes a few hundred dollars less some time a few hundred dollars more). Jon made it clear, and highlighted, that the out the door price included a $2500 instant savings from Hyundai. He advised that I qualified for 0% financing that I could choose to take over the cash back depending on how I wanted my deal structured. I spent a few rounds of email going back and forth asking job questions. I wanted to know about warranty options, costs, potential installations of a trailer hitch. Jon seemed very content to answer my questions via email. At no point did he pressure me into coming into the dealership to get my questions answer. His answers were specific, contained numbers, and were dependable. He yielded that that Service contract options were handled by Finance, and trade in valuations by the used car manager. But he was happy to be my go between, as long as i understood he needed to go find them each time, and sometimes they were with customers. Jon's response time was excellent. With all of my questions answered, and my quote in hand, I advised Jon that the only people I wanted to interact with was him, and the finance manager (standard guy when you sign your paperwork). Becuase of my previous car buying experiences throughout my life, I still was still skeptical. I didn't want to be pitched an Interior package, aftermarket accessories, rustproofing or any other thing that previous dealerships do. I didn't want to arrive on the scene to find out the car i wanted was 'just' sold and we needed to start over. Jon promised that things worked differently at Rosen and that He and Yaseen would be the only people I had to deal with. He advised that Hyundai was giving a $50 Visa card reward for scheduling a test drive, but I needed to register online and print out the code they give. He could then process it when I arrived to be sure i receive it. I went to the dealership after work. John had my chosen vehicle cleaned and ready for my test drive. He had the used car manager take my car for evaluation while he explained how to use the high tech safety features that come with the Sante Fe (THere is a LOT of features) and identified parts of town nearby the dealership where I can test things out. He told me to take my time and have fun. (No pressure) When I came back, my trade valuation was ready. We had some discussion about improving that value which Jon was happy to do. He also mentioned that because I was trading in a qualified Hyundai model, he applied a $500 discount to the quote he already gave me. (now i was in complete alignment with deals other people had posted in the forums). At this point I just needed to decide if i wanted to go with 0% financing or keep that cash back. John wrote up the order assuming I would take the $2500. He took careful time showing our deal line for line on the official paperwork and compared them to our email thread. He was completely transparent and wanted to make sure I was comfortable deciding to buy the car. He led me to Yaseen who handles the finance. Yaseen had already discussed with Jon, and reviewed our email thread and was well aware I didn't want to be sold anything but what I asked for. We proceeded through each document. As we got to the finance part he broke out the different options comparing the 0% and the cash back. The payments were within $10, and we hadn't figured in my down payment. He was very clear in saying that if there was a chance I would sell or trade in the car before paying it off it would be better to take the cash back offer. Simple interest loans are calculated daily, so I would owe less on the car (be less upside down) if i traded it in since i would have financed less. He advised if I was planning on keeping the car to term, I should take the 0% since it was technically the lower of the two payments. WhatIi didn't tell him is that I used many of the online tools available and knew exactly which option to take. His advice aligned with that information. He allowed me to make the choice and didn't pressure me either way. He even worked out whatever scenario I wanted to see how the numbers changed with various interest rates and down payments. (Very patient. No Pressure). When it came time to discuss the warranty, he showed me only the options I asked to see. We discussed the various options and the costs and how we could adjust them to where I was comfortable. That was it. No service package pitch, no paint protection pitch. No changing the numbers last minute. No ooops's. No Unfortunately's. No I'm sorry but's. We completed the deal and there were no surprises. Afterwards Jon came and got me. We spent time going over all of the tech registration for Bluelink, XM activation. Jon never seemed rushed. He didn't kick me out now that the sale was completed. We even had some sidebar conversation. He was happy to work with me to set up my phone and test things out. He led me to my new car, and demonstrated more of the features of the electronics that I didn't even know about. He helped me customize things like the home screen, smart cruise control, even the Heads up display. He didn't want me to leave until I had all my questions answered. He even followed up a couple days later to make sure everything was going well with the tech stuff. I have nothing but positives to say about my Rosen experience. Maybe it was because I had my guard up and advertised that I wouldn't stand for any shadiness. Maybe because I had done all of my homework. However I have never had a car buying experience like it did with Jon at Rosen. I believe it is just the way they do business. People are smarter, more informed, and they have plenty of choices when buying a car. Referrals are the future. I believe Rosen is well aware of that. They are embracing it by choosing to focus on a positive buying experience. Thanks Rosen! . More
