One of the worst service experiences ever Brand new 2015 Prius and the head light dash dimmer dial intermittently goes on the blink. During routine service last week they refused to look at it Brand new 2015 Prius and the head light dash dimmer dial intermittently goes on the blink. During routine service last week they refused to look at it, required us to make an appt. to have it checked out. So we did, for 10am yesterday. I arrived as scheduled, was told it would take about 2 hours to check it out (?!) At 2pm, 4 hours later, he called to say it had not been looked at yet and would take still more time. At 4pm we went back for a progress report as we were running out of time; STILL had not been looked at. He returned in a few minutes and announced he was "voiding" the service order. He said "We take in cars all day and fix them in a cue depending on skill and availability of the tech". To take all day and then void the service order without an adequate explanation, without so much as a "Sorry", no offer to provide a loaner so the car can stay longer, no offer to reschedule, and no indication there is anything the slightest wrong with all of that. Clearly they do not consider the problem worthy of warranty service and do not stand behind their promises. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. More
Sells repairs that aren't needed. My 2006 Sienna was having trouble starting. I took it to Tonkin since the battery was only 6 mo. old and still under warranty. After having to leave i My 2006 Sienna was having trouble starting. I took it to Tonkin since the battery was only 6 mo. old and still under warranty. After having to leave it there for a simple electrical check which should have taken only minutes. They proclaimed the battery fine but the alternator was bad. Wanted $800. Also wanted to replace the tires (that have 40% tread left) since they said the front tire had a nail and I might as well replace them all. Tires are Firestone and under warranty so I took the vehicle there. They showed me there was no nail in the front tire and they would be good for at least another 10-15k. Took the vehicle to United Battery for free electrical check. After 5 min wait and 5 min test, they confirmed the battery was indeed not taking a charge and the alternator was putting out charge well within spec. Back to Tonkin with just the battery, got it replaced under Toyota warranty (funny when I came in with just the battery and said it was bad, they didn't even test it to verify, just handed over a new battery.) Our "service" advisor is the same one who tried to convince us our 2001 Tacoma wasn't making noise and charged us for a "carbon deposit cleaning" and advised we switch to Arco gas before a second advisor actually noticed the noise and we ended up having the small block replaced under warranty. Do your research before taking anything here as they'll try to stick you with the most expensive repairs possible. Prices are dealer (so the most expensive) but the quality of service DOESN't match up. More
The worst customer service. We dropped off our Toyota Tundra for service( under the warranty). After few days of waiting we received a phone call with how they said: " a bad news". They damaged our car, while it was in their possession. It has been a week since they didn't do anything, the only thing we keep hearing. That we need to use our Insurence and they are not going to fix it. I need to call every day to fight for my rights. How can I trust this company? Not only they didn't provide us with a car while we needed to leave our Tundra there, but they damaged it. They are claiming that they don't have video cameras on the property. I'm dissatisfied and disappointed. More

We take the car in for service about every 6 months, have about 3500 miles on the car each time. The service guy always comes up with a list of things that cost a lot of money. The last time we went we had new fluid added which we probably needed. He also said the battery was not up to par. We had a new battery installed about a year and a half ago. I took the car back to the place where I bought the battery. The battery had roughly 7800 miles on it in a year and a half. The mechanic said there was nothing wrong with the battery. This is really upsetting to me that the service guy would try and sell me something I did not need. We are seniors on a fixed income. I know you guys need to make money, but do you have to take advantage of people ? Do you not have a conscience ? Wallace & Vivian Fox Vancouver WA 360-882-3870 More
