We had a very positive experience in the purchase our 2026 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid through Vanissa Thepsouvanh. While it took us a couple months to make a decision about purchasing the vehicle, Vanissa was very helpful in providing information at the beginning, she was able to stay in touch with us in the interim, and then helped us close the deal on very positive terms once we decided to make the purchase. Absolutely frustrating and totally a waste of time from people who do not listen and are pushing the hard manipulation. I am going elsewhere. The deals on both cars were good but not fabulous. The trade in process was horrid. I fail to understand why salesmen even think it's okay to offer way less than something is worth. Fortunately my husband had Car faxed our actual truck that was in MINT CONDITION and we knew its trade in value. We were ready to walk and were serious about it. They offered 18,000 for a truck with a trade in value of $27,000. Fools that we were, we took 26,000. Pro-tip: if you choose this dealer, know the value of your trade in and stand your ground. Our Salesperson Bryant was okay-the manager was the one trying to dick us around. I fail to understand why any business would think it's okay to take advantage of people, especially senior citizens like us. We ended up with long xxx payment plans -8 years, yes I know I am a fool. The finance guy Demitry was an absolute slimy piece of work who violated our boundaries and pressured us into to buying crap we don't need. This guy was so slimy he told us Toyotas were not as good as they used to be to upsale us. I mean, really? You work for Toyota. We told him we dont drive very much and he negated that and said we would because its a new care--well no actually, The reason the trade in truck (2021)had such high value is because we dont drive much. We told him numerous times we couldn't afford more. He disrespectfully ignored us. Now my senior citizen 65 year old husband has to work one overtime per month to make the additional $150 per month (both cars combined) Demitry is accruing a huge karmic debt. Pro-tip: if you do business here and get Demitry as your finance guy, just run. No car is worth it. You are about to be screwed. Personally, If I ever buy another new car, I will go to a no haggle place, or I will hire a broker. Tonkin takes advantage of senior citizens. In my view, Tonkin is highly unethical, but who cares? Certainly not big business. I feel huge regret. I so wanted to believe that there were good companies out there. This is not one of them More
I didn't have a good experience. I didn't think it would be so complicated to buy a car. I thought Ron Tonkin Toyota was a professional dealer. First, we agreed on a price and rate. I didn't think it would be so complicated to buy a car. I thought Ron Tonkin Toyota was a professional dealer. First, we agreed on a price and rate. Then, unexpectedly, the sales specialist told me that this price or rate will change, if the car arrives after the end of the month. After hearing this, I was disappointed and said, "This was not our deal. You should honor the agreement." Then he told me that he could find another car in a few hours. But he didn't give me a clear answer, even though I asked him so many times. More
